It’s Déjà Vu all over again!
Author: cashcraft | Posted Nov 17, 2009 | 0 comments
It’s like déjà vu, all over again! The Sims 3 Chloe Dining Collection was published November 12. Now it is time for the Sims 2 Chloe Metro Dining set to be released, the set is scheduled for publication on November 18th. Chloe Metro Dining is a new Sims 2 contemporary dining set; it features a 3-tile dining table, casual dining place setting, dining chair, deco/china cabinet, hutch, and several new deco items.
To use the place setting with the table you must download the invisible table mesh. Remember, you must place the place setting on the invisible table first (use the “M” and “,” and “.” keyboard keys to position the place setting) and then move everything to the dining table.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Carolyn,
Here’s a sneak peek at my current Sims 3 project…

Sims 3 Creations
Author: cashcraft | Posted Nov 12, 2009 | 3 comments
Hi y'all! I just published my first Sims 3 sets! They are the Modern Living Curtain and Chloe Dining Collection. I am getting familiar with TSR Sims 3 Workshop and learning how to create the different types of textures, which are required for Sims 3 objects. I have to admit creating for Sims 3 is challenging, but it’s also a lot of fun! I can’t wait to start my next Sims 3 project; I think I'm ready to create something Victorian, LOL!
Happy Simming,
Carolyn

I Think, I Can!

"I--think--I--can, I--think--I--can!"
I am smiling from ear to ear! While they are not ready for publication yet, I finally created a few objects for Sims 3. It's been a rough road, initially; everything I created for the game came out sooooooo shiny! Well, I got that straighten out, but then another problem would develop, LOL! Fortunately, I love a good challenge!
Don't expect Victorian creations right away, I am taking it slow and easy, I am starting with something less complex. Although I did create new curtain for Sims 3, I really HATE the in game curtains! They are so unattractive. So, I created my own window treatment, the other objects (pictured below) were created for Sims 2 and I converted them to Sims 3.
I'll keep you posted on the status of my Sims 3 project!
"I thought I could, I thought I could."

So Many Questions!

So Many Questions!
The majority of the questions I am asked are about Sims 3.
Do I plan on converting my Sims 2 Victorian creations to Sims 3 packages? I really don’t know at this time, it may not be feasible to convert the files. I am not an expert on Sims 3, but one of the main problems (for me) is that Sims 3 requires two meshes, a low and high polygon model. The game uses the low-polygon model for distance viewing and a few other things. Real life keeps me very busy and I don’t have the time to create low-poly meshes for all of my older creations. I have created over 600 meshes!
Also, some of my Sims 2 creations need to be re-UV mapped to appear at their best in Sims 3. However, the main drawback is that attending college and family commitments limit the amount of free time I have to create for the game.
After five years of creating for Sims 2, I can just about create the “stuff” in my sleep, LOL! So, I will continue to submit Sims 2 creations to TSR, this is stuff I have already made and have not found time to publish. I have downloaded the latest version of TSR Workshop (Sims 3) and I cannot wait to give it a try! A few weeks ago, I was able to create a Sims 3 object and view it in game! Unfortunately, I have to stop and get to work on writing final exam papers for school. I have just about forgotten everything I learned and need to refresh my memory by reviewing a few tutorials. So, it may be a while before I submit Sims 3 stuff, but I am too addicted to creating for the Sims game to give it up now!
Question two is can I recolor your creations? For all of you artists who want to recolor my stuff. YES! You are allowed to recolor ALL of my creations, just be sure to follow the TSR site rules and create your own custom textures. It is always a pleasant surprise to see my creations recolored by another artist. It is not necessary, but it would be nice to receive credit for creating the mesh.
That’s all for Now! Happy Simming!

Nov. 8th, French Country Kitchen Release!
Author: cashcraft | Posted Nov 4, 2009 | 1 comments
French Country Kitchen set recolor is scheduled for publication on November 8, 2009. The set recolor was inspired by Jsf Designs ParkLane Panels--they're some of my favorite wall treatments. Check out Judi's ParkLane French they are beautiful!
The French Country Kitchen set features creamy off-white cabinetry with antique bronze knobs and handles, and dark wood countertops. I have also updated the Traditional Inspired Kitchen Fridge; the mesh’s appearance is improved. You may want to re-download the mesh, although it is not required. Several new meshes were created for the French Country Kitchen, they are: a skillet, stock pot, double ovens, plant stand with plant and a tabletop potted plant.
Take Care and Happy Simming,
Carolyn

Wow! I’ve been playing “catch-up,” I have spent time today reading pages of comments on my creations. Your comments made me laugh, smile, giggle, and several of them have touched my heart. Reading all your wonderful comments has made me very, very happy! It is such a joy to create objects and new meshes; however, it is a bigger pleasure to read that you enjoy my stuff. I wish I could reply to all of your wonderful comments! Thank-you for all your lovely comments and for downloading my creations, I really appreciate it!
Take Care and Hugs,
Carolyn

What's New!
Hi y'all!
I'm back in college, so I have limited free time to create. I am also
learning to create Sims 3 custom content and so far,
I'm enjoying it!
My Traditional Kitchen set is complete! I finally got my 2-tile kitchen stove to work properly. Thanks Anoeska!
Preview shots are being completed for the Traditional Kitchen set and I hope to upload the set later this weekend.
I recently created Chloe Metro Dining, which is a diningroom set and
it complements the Chloe Metro Living set.
I hope to publish it later this
month. (see pictures, below)
Stay tuned, and I'll let you know when I have a publication date set for the Traditional Kitchen set.

Sims 2 Poll Results
Author: cashcraft | Posted Aug 16, 2009 | 12 comments
A liitle over a month ago, I started a poll. The question I asked was, "Are You Still Playing Sims 2?"
I was surprised by the results, the majority of people who answered my poll are still playing Sims 2! (see results below)
The reason I started the poll was to determine whether I should continue creating new custom content for Sims 2, or to just concentrate my creative energy on Sims 3.
Well, looking at the poll results, made deciding what to do a lot easier! I will continue to create for Sims 2, while I am learning how to blow up meshes...er, I mean create for Sims 3!
So far, I created several patterns and modified a dress mesh for Sims 3. I'm still waiting for tools to be developed, so that I can easily create new objects for Sims 3,*crosses fingers* I hope it will be very soon!
WHAT'S NEW!
I have finished my Traditional Kitchen set, I just need to beta test the set's large appliances. Hopefully, they will pass with "flying colors" and I can publish the set by the end of August or early September 2009.
Thanks to everyone who voted! I really appreciate your feedback and comments.
Take Care and Happy Simming!

Aug. 16th, Chloe - Metro Living Collection
Author: cashcraft | Posted Aug 9, 2009 | 3 comments
The Chloe Metro Living collection is a departure from my regular Victorian inspired sets. Chloe features contemporary trends in design, furniture with sloped arms, tufted back, and soft pastel colors. The inspiration for this set was a picture in a furniture sales catalog. Something about the picture spoke to me, LOL!
While I love creating Victorian and period furniture, I wanted to try something different. I hope you enjoy the Metro Living collection; it was great fun creating contemporary furnishings. The set is scheduled for publication on August 16th.
The Chloe sofa is the master file and the loveseat, armchair, end table, and coffee table are all linked to the master file. Soft pastel colors in cream, café noir, myst (grey), and sage (green), complement dark hardwood accent pieces. The set is all new meshes, except for the rug, and is base game compliant. Collection folder is included in the set download.
Let me know what you think about the Metro Living collection.
Take Care, Carolyn
