Asian Straw Walls set

I've also just set up a full set of 11 wall panels in the style of traditional Asian mud-and-straw plaster or stucco. These will publish on Tuesday.
I hope it helps to have them properly organised at last! They work in a gradient over 4 building levels, and the higher levels have a choice of 3 panels each - to mix and shuffle and convey the raw, bumpy rustic qualities of the plaster with the straw showing through. The bright red is typical - China gave other Asian cultures its symbolic primary colours.

Although I've been able to complete and post up 2 of the 3 tutorials on Japanese / Chinese roofs as promised (+ the houses you'd get with them!), I haven't had time for much else.
I've been doing a one-off project for my wife's Autism charity, which we finished on Friday last. So I should be back chatting more from tomorrow - Monday! ;)

And as with Akira, on your left here, I've also made up the house you'd get with my Complex Japanese Roofs tutorial. Takashi means 'eminence' (Akira means 'brightness'), and this is a very stately home with a larger upper level and 2-carport, pool and tub all fitted. Also a very peaceful Japanese garden at the front - the environment ratings when Sims leave the house for work are very high!

Well, despite this horrid bug, I've finished double-checking the second tutorial in my Japanese Roofs series.
Called Building Complex Japanese Roofs, it will show (I hope) how to start building multi-level roofs - for pavilions, palaces, pagodas etc.
I would stress, it's not a doddle of a tutorial. You'll definitely need to have used my first tute, and also be a little patient!!!
I would call it Intermediate - 'cos I know what difficult really looks like! :lol: Then I look at some guy who says his tutorial is Advanced, and you guys could do it three years ago!!!!!! Aaaarrggghh - people.

Sorry guys - I've been laid low by a nasty virus that has kept me in bed for most of the past 3 weeks now. I've done some things here at TSR, but get very weak in a short while so what I can do is limited.
However, it's getting better slowly, and I'm trying to reply to all my messages and comments gradualy - hope you feel patient! ;)

Building Simple Japanese Roofs

OK! I've set the first tutorial on Japanese Roofs for publication on Monday next (26 February).
This is because I wanted to allow time to publish a large set of Japanese/Chinese roof tiles I've made, which everyone can use in following the tutorial! ;)

I was stuck in a bit of a dither about which tutorials to work on this month! Sorry. ;) I've got lots of pics and notes on a fair number, but the work is editing and categorising, before writing.
In the end I've set out three large tutorials on Japanese and Chinese Roofs. The first is a simple one-level roof.
The second is a complex set of roofs, and explains more about using scaffolding.
The third is specifically on how to create a Sims2 version of the marvel of this style of roof - the irimoya or half-gable/half-hip roof that is often seen sitting atop a pagoda or large pavilion.
And woooooh - I've learned a lot! :)

No surprise there ----- you knew it must be coming!!! :lol:
I've posted the tutorial to be published on Friday. The patch for Pets that Maxis released last week hasn't solved the "Replacing Pool Walls in Pets" problem, sadly. But otherwise I hope the tute is helpful.
Can I suggest that it's not that easy a tute - just because you'll have to concentrate sometimes!!!!! But probably you'll think it's just a doddle!

Modern home - swimmable river

I've also made a more sophisticated Japanese island home which I'll be publishing on Monday.
On Friday I'm publishing a modern island home - several of you have asked for this! :) It's called River Island, since it's in the middle of a river, with a boathouse on the far bank which can only be reached by swimming! Since the boathouse houses the tub and a bowling lane, there are lot's of reasons to go swimming ..... and to keep fit!!!!

Last Friday I published a set of 3 island homes. In a sense they're 3 re-colours, with different colourings of my Japanese Roof Tile, and different walls and floors.
Also some variations in detail, and the Midnight home has an extra 2-level summerhouse. The Midnight house is dark blue, and the others are Gold and Coral. I've put up a screenie of the Gold one.
