Problem with Sebring set fixed

Author: waverly | Posted Mar 27, 2007 | 0 comments

I don't know what was wrong, but there was a problem with the Sebring Collection. Very few people could download it. I had Per take a look at it, and it's fixed now.

The end of poll #1

Author: waverly | Posted Mar 7, 2007 | 1 comments

The Midtown Collection has taken a surprising leap ahead. The Sterling Collection is in third right now, but I'm not quite ready to upload it. So I'll be doing the Midtown, the Sebring, the Capri, the Sterling, then the Metro. So now I'll be putting up another poll. It'll be a while before I'm ready to start working on new sets again, so I decided to put this poll up now so there's plenty of time for voting before I begin working. I'll likely take the top five results to begin working on, then I'll put up another poll to see if more bedrooms is what you all want. So here are the bedrooms to choose from. I'm narrowing it down to 12 (from 29!), then I'll have five questions with the same answer choices, so you can choose more than one. ****Edit: I changed the poll to hopefully keep it from taking up so much space, so I wrote the numbers next to the set titles here. Set #1: The Aaron Collection Set #2: The Anna Collection Set #3: The Pablo Collection Set #4: The Q-Bik Collection Set #5: The Contemporary Silver Collection Set #6: The Contemporary Silver Platform Collection Set #7: The Contemporary Streamlined Collection Set #8: The Italian Sunset Collection Set #9: The Nouveau Collection Set #10: The Polaris Collection Set #11: The Mariella Collection Set #12: The Torino Collection

Keep voting!

Author: waverly | Posted Feb 25, 2007 | 1 comments

Since the San Paolo Collection was so far ahead once I got finished uploading the Bedroom Accents collections, I just finished uploading the SuperSet for it. But, keep on voting if you haven't yet! It'll decide which one I focus on next. I'm about to delete the San Paolo set from the options so people don't vote for it without realizing that it's already up!

Previews!

Author: waverly | Posted Jan 24, 2007 | 0 comments

Yesterday I set up the rooms for the preview shots of the six sets I'm working on. Keep in mind, my graphics card was turned way down, and these shots don't showcase every piece of the set, either. All of the walls and floors (and then some) will be included in the bedding/pillows/rug set that will go up first.

Today I'm working on the recolors. I hope to have them all imported into SimPE by the end of the night so I can do the previews for uploading tomorrow. I've got a poker game this weekend, so I might not start uploading until Monday. The file-count is up to 160 already, and I haven't even done the recolors yet, so uploading is gonna take a while. Anyway, on with the previews!

The Capri Collection

The Sterling Collection

The Sebring Collection

The San Paolo Collection

The Midtown Collection

The Metro Collection

So much coming up!

Author: waverly | Posted Jan 16, 2007 | 2 comments

I've been on hiatus over the holidays, I guess you could say. But when I come back, I'm coming back with a bang! I'm currently working on six different bedroom sets. Each of these will have several recolors. I'll probably be releasing them as SuperSets, because I know many people prefer it when I do it that way.

I don't plan on doing a different bedding/rug/pillows set for every recolor, like I often do, but I will be releasing a bedding set (with rugs and pillows) just before the bedrooms go up. Those will be the beddings that I use in the previews for the object sets. I don't really have any previews available right now, but I can link to the actual furniture sets that the meshes are based on.

First, there's the Sterling Collection. I had to do this one not only because I think it's gorgeous, but because of the name as well. My husband's screen name is steRling.

Second will be the Capri Collection. I loved the slats in the headboard, and the simple lines of the rest of the set.

Third is the Midtown Collection. This one took me a bit of searching to find the preview of it. It seems they've either changed the name of it (which they've done more than once in the past), or they're not selling it any longer (or much longer).

Fourth is the San Paolo Collection. The preview will feature a TV made by ogula from ogularama. If you want it, you'll have to bug him for it. ;)

Fifth is the Sebring Collection. I nearly forgot that I started this one. I'll have to finish the meshes for it up tomorrow.

And last is the Metro Collection. I don't have a preview for it because it's no longer available at furniture.com, and I haven't been able to find it since. It is the one that I started and showed a Milkshape preview of in another of my blog entries. I decided that even though I didn't have a preview of what the rest of the set looked like any longer, I'd just make some nice and simple objects to go along with it.

Oh yeah!

So my husband and I made a deal about me getting his computer. He broke his end of it, so I am back! The only thing this baby needs is some more RAM, but I'm just gonna have to wait a few months for that. I'll be uploading some skins based on a mesh from the Glamour pack today, and then I'll get back to working on that kitchen.

After that, I'll be attempting to mesh some couches. Living rooms are not my strong suit, so this has been a challenge. But I'm not meshing just any couches. I'm meshing my own couches. So this'll be fun. The hardest part so far has been getting the poly count down.

But here's a quick preview for you:

Oh, and here's the inspiration for the kitchen that I'm attempting to mesh right now:

A run of bad luck

Author: waverly | Posted Sep 6, 2006 | 1 comments

Well, I've been working on a kitchen for about a month now. It's been as difficult as I expected it to be. That's why I haven't shown anyone but the one who requested it any previews. I was nearly finished when Glamour came out. The day before it did, I had a problem, so I uninstalled FFS. Before I did, though, I zipped up the TS2 folder in My Documents. After I reinstalled, I went to unzip, and the over 4GB zip file was corrupted. Luckily, I had made a backup of the neighborhood in SimPE a day or two before, and only part of my downloads were in it.

I managed to salvage part of zip file, but I still lost a big part. Once again, I was lucky in that what I lost I had backups for, but unfortunatly, those backups were made before I binned all my custom hair and made collection files for all my object sets. So now I have to rebin all the hair, and make all new collection files.

But that's not the end of the bad luck. Two days ago, I went to run Body Shop so I could make some recolors of the new guys clothes in Glamour. I got a Windows error right away, so I decided to reboot. Everything shut down just fine, but it would start back up. No beep to let me know everything was OK. So, after a day of frustration and checking everything I could think of, I realized that my graphics card has died.

What does this mean? Well, I'll be getting my Radeon 9600 back from a friend as soon as I can, so I'm not completely without. I will be finishing this kitchen as soon as I can, but it's going really slow trying to run Milkshape on a GeForce 2. If I have to, I can borrow my husband's PC while he's at work to create. I really don't want to do that. I was so happy when he got his new PC so we didn't have to share anymore.

Hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things again in no time.

Coming Back Soon!

Author: waverly | Posted Jul 10, 2006 | 0 comments

The break was nice, but it's back to work for me. I think I've learned how to juggle the family and the Sims fairly well now, so I started a new set. I lost my inspiration pictures for the bedroom I was going to finish after I finished the Palermo (which is nearly uploaded now ... it's such a pain to upload 119 files ... and it took me a while to get the shading on the silly set to look decent). So, I started a new set that is nearly ready for SimPE now. The Bailey Collection. Inspiration: I had to do the lightwood first so I could get the shading done right. But, as always, there will be several wood choices, including the mocha in the original set. End Table: Armoire: TV Armoire: Dresser: Desk: Desk Chair: Bookcase: Mirror: Vanity: I'm thinking about doing a kitchen next, and then a living room. But after that, it'll be back to more bedrooms. :)

Taking a Break

Author: waverly | Posted May 31, 2006 | 1 comments

Well I hate to do it, but I'm taking a break from creating. I've got to cut down on my Simming because of personal issues, so creating is getting the total cut. I'm still going to work on my Legacy as much as I can, but it might have some long periods of no updating as well. I hope to be back in full swing in a couple of months.

And I'm Out!

Author: waverly | Posted Apr 11, 2006 | 0 comments

Well, not really. I'm heading to my brother's wedding. My flight leaves tomorrow, but we're staying over at my great uncle's house tonight because the airport is 3 hours from here. I'll be back middle of next week. I was hoping to have 3 new sets up and ready to go before I left. But alas, it didn't work out that way. So here's a little preview of what I may or may not get uploaded before I leave and/or while I'm there. And then a preview of what's to come when I get back. Sorry for the size of them, but I don't have time to resize.
