I'm back on my feet!

Blog post added Dec 30, 2008 | 0 comments

Finally, I can say that both my computer and I are ready to start creating together again!

Thanks to all my recent problems, I've had the chance to clean up my game. I'm now 'free' of all my unwanted custom content, lots, characters, neighbourhoods etc which makes everything run so much more quickly!

I've got a house coming tomorrow. It requires only the base game, but lacks non of the detail or craftsmanship of my normal 60-installed-EP uploads, even if I do say so myself!

Hope all is well with you

Hello chaps! I've just completed another lot. It's a quaint suburban house based on one from the show Desperate Housewives. I've really grown to love it as I've spent time on it. I wouldn't mind living here myself! The interiors are really bright and breezy, with lots of windows and plenty of places to sit and relax. There are plenty of corners to paint, read a book, do some homework, snooze... Lovely!
France!

Being British, it's my job to dislike the French - and the Welsh - but I'm just going to have to make an exception (to the former) I have fallen in love with French architecture, from Palais des Papes: to the ugly but unbelievably elaborate Château de Chambord: to Mont Saint Michel (I adore this place...) , to the beautifully simple blue-slate-roofed Château Latour: And have decided that this should be my next project. Move over Oxford, It's time to introduce Château du Pont! This 'Château' is a moderately sized but VERY opulent construction in a classical style. The floor plan is in a very simple mirrored style seen in buildings such as 'la Petite Trianon' and 'Pavillion de Musique' at Louveciennes. There is a main hall, with stairs, which opens onto a large chamber which opens onto another chamber at either side. This has resulted in six very well proportioned rooms, a hall and two large bathrooms. Easily manageable! Here's a picture of the lot so far!

Good day to you, chaps! Just a note to say that I am going away for the weekend, to a wonderful 5* retreat house built into the ruins of an abbey. Whilst I'm away, I've got a lot being published. Ochre Hall. It's based loosely on the front facade of "MidCliff", which is on Ochre Point - one of the very famous Newport mansions. The interior very much reflects this, with large rooms, wide staircases and lots of focal points. Take a look!
Rebuilding Oxford...

I'm currently working on a fairly massive project. I'm taking little bits of oxford university's exteriors (the oldest university in the English-speaking world, started in 1096) and putting them together into one massive sprawling building, with a courtyard in the middle. I'm far too pleased with myself to keep this quiet, so I thought I'd post some pictures of the work-in-progress and show you how far I've got! The front building The inner building, from the courtyard the opposite side of the courtyard The Victorian smoking room (above the great hall) - originally a minstrels gallery An overview Bear in mind this isn't actually anything like oxford! The interior and rooms are all of my own design. Oxford is far, far more beautiful! The building (at the moment) consists of three wings - The Front Wing with a great hall, private dining room, kitchens, two bedrooms and a smoking room. The Main Building with a grand staircase leading into a library at one side and a drawing room at the other. The drawing room then leads into a wing of bedrooms. Downstairs is a sitting room, study and two other large chambers for which there is currently no purpose. The Connecting Wing with two large chambers on the ground floor and a suite of rooms above. Cloisters support a large balcony with staircases up to the garret at the top of the building! So what do you think?

I've taken a break from getting my affairs in order so I can write a proper blog. It's 3.06am here, so forgive me if I don't make much sense. I've recently made SA, and I'm still in shock about it. I certainly don't feel worthy! I assure you all, I'm going to be uploading at the speed of light until I do. I probably shouldn't name names, because I'm sure to forget someone, but there are some unforgettable members of the community I'd like to thank. I've been hanging around the community here and there for a while now, and I've come across lots of brilliant creators and characters who have been rather inspirational. Some of them probably don't know I rate them as highly as I do! Take for instance Ninapinacolada, who's lots are superb! Then there is Debitcard. I'm Debitcard's no.1 fan! I've poured over his creations time and again and no matter how hard I've tried, I can never come close to his building abilities. I've managed to learn fair a bit though! Thirdly come all my friends at the Sims Fashion Barn (especially Dgandy, who's creations I'm still using!) and here too. A special mention goes to Swmeek, Daisylee, JRon and Kamus, who've been bright sparks on an otherwise dull day time and again! Fourthly comes Illiana, who's been recently promoted to FA status! She's been a brilliant help and advistor, and a rather pleasant person to pass the time of day with too! Lastly, I must thank you. If you've come this far, you're dedication is superb! I'm stunned to find how many people have bookmarked me, and I'm really pleased that somebody out there has been using my lots. I hope you guys like my upcoming lots as much! I'm planning to prattle on quite a bit in these blogs, as you may have noticed... If you've ever got lots and lots of free time, and you're exceptionally bored, you can always take a visit and you'll be very welcome!

Thank goodness.

For the past week, I've been waiting as my ISP has been changed. In this week, I've missed being promoted to an SA, several rather important emails and all the wonderful messages from you guys congratulating me and wishing me luck.

Once I've sorted out all my countless emails and had dinner, I will be writing a much better blog entry, making my way through my guest book and getting back to you guys, then uploading a couple of new lots I've been working on. You'll have more info on that soon!
