I guess it is about the personality of the sim. For example my active sims can meditate and playfull sims can juggle balls. You must click on to sim who is already selected.

ok if you want an easier way to raise babies then go to the sims2 official website and look for the screen name rennardbabe83 (me) and d/l one of my houses and you get cheats. you will get an INSIMINATOR which you can skip the baby stage and have MORE than 8 sims in a household. if anyone has any more questions e-mail me at cckm18@hotmail.com...hope i helped anyone.
