Hey this is a sequel to my story Digging Up The Past, but you don't have to have read that part to get this part, it's like an entirely new story...except with the same characters as the other one.....okay I'm not explaining it anymore to further embarrass myself. ANYWAY....I hope you all enjoy this part and I would like to give a big HUGE thank-you to everyone you reads my stories you're all awsum!! and also to Thank crystal_89!! Amazing story writer and very good at coming up with story titles!! lol okay read on.....>>>

Amazing story writer and very good at coming up with story titles!! lol okay read on.....>>> That'd be me.....teasing the tropical fish....My name's Nicole. A lot of things have happened to me, and a lot more things to come. That's Michael, he shares my passion for teasing the fish..... We've been together for a couple of years now, and he's helped me through a lot. My mum left me and my father when I was little. I wasn't happy living with my father, so I thought my life would be better if I lived with my mother. I didn't have a plan for how I would get there, or if I even had enough money. Then Michael showed up, as I was sleeping on a park bench, he offered me a ride. The trip took 3 or 4 days, it was on that trip that I realised how much I loved him, and we've been inseparable ever since. I did find my mother though, but she wasn't what I expected and she kicked me out of her home, I then returned home to my dad, to find how much I really was loved and haven't had a second thought for my mother. But that's all in the past now, and I'm focusing on my future. I moved out of home a couple of days ago, into a small unit. I rent the unit with my best friend Abbey, as you can see she's much nicer to the fish than we are. Well they are her fish. "I got to go and start my shift, I'll see you later" Michael told me as he held my tight in an embrace.
"I'll miss you" I smiled. Abbey's phone started ringing as I sat down on the sqeaky wooden chair.
"Yes? Look I don't know...yes I know, I'd have to check, fine...alright..bye" she talked on the phone as she opened the fish tank to feed her fish. The smell of the fish wafted over toward me. It smelt like....I don't know what it smelt like....hmmm dead weeds...and...algae, I hated that smell, but I couldn't say anything to Abbey about it, she loved her fish. "Can I ask you a BIG HUGE favour??" Abbey asked with pleading eyes.
"Well what are best friends for?" I regretted saying that straight after I had said it, nothing good could come from doing someone a BIG HUGE favour.
"My cousin's been kicked out of his house and needs a place to stay"
"Him?" I asked so casually. "Yeah you've met him before, when we were kids, remember?"
"The one with the-" I asked making faces.
"No, Jake, you remember"
"Oh the one with the-- oh yeah I remember"
"Yeah he was the one that showed us how to play football, and we kicked his favourite football through that mean old lady's window and she wouldn't give it back" "I remember YOU kicking that football" I laughed.
"That's beside the point, can he stay?? We do kind of owe him, and my mum will go balistic if she finds out I wouldn't let him stay" She started talking faster as her sentence progressed.
"Fine fine! He can stay, I don't mind, just as long as he...does his own laundry, cooks dinner at least once a week and helps around the house" "Oh I'll make sure he does!!" She smiled ear to ear.
"When's he coming over??" Just as I finished saying that, the doorbell rang. "Now? He's coming now??" There was a silence "Yep now...thankyou again" and she sprung up to answer the door. "Hey Nicole" I swung around on my chair and sprang up with energy I didn't know I had.
"Hey....." my voice trailed off as I looked into the strangers eyes.
"My haven't you grown" was the first thing he said. "sorry about the football" is all I could think of to say. "What football?" he asked confused. "Don't worry" I muttered. "Umm get settled in, I have to go to work...bye" I walked out of the house as fast as I could without causing suspicion. Wow he had gotten good looking, I thought to myself. Jake was the one who gave me my first kiss, we were sitting on the grass behind Abbey's shed having a picnic, she got up to go to the toilet and left me and Jake there. He told me I had something on my face, he wiped it off and kissed me unexpectedley. It was like a fairy-tale moment. I returned home from my non-existant work day, to find Jake cooking dinner.
"Hmmm what smells so good?" I asked both of them at once. For Abbey was sitting at the table.
"Jake's making dinner" Abbey smiled. "What ya making?"
"Just some spaghetti" he replied.
"Aw I wish my boyfriend could cook" "Boyfriend?" he asked as I looked away as casually as possible. "yep, boyfriend" I smiled. Then who would walk in the door? Michael. "Guess who just got promoted!!" He bellowed as he walked in. I ran up to him and lept into his arms, without thinking of who was watching.
"Who's that?" he asked. Jake walked over.
"Michael this is Jake, Abbey's cousin, Jake this is Michael....my--"
"Boyfriend? I presume." he said as he shook hands with Michael. "Nice to meet you" Jake dished out the spaghetti and we all sat down to a nice meal.
"I wish I could cook like this" Michael complimented Jake's cooking.
"Yeah Nicole was saying that before" There was an awkward silence as Michael looked over to me.
"Well I've always thought of cooking as more of a...girl thing" Michael snapped back at Jake. "That's nice" Jake replied shovelling a spoonfull of spaghetti in his mouth. "Come on Michael let's go outside" I stood up and nudged his arm, he didn't move so I grabbed his sleeve and dragged him outside. "What's wrong? Why did you go off like that at Jake?" I asked.
"It's nothing against him, I just didn't have a very good day"
"Why what happened? How could you not of had a very good day? You got promoted" "I got a call from my aunt, she's moving....she wants me to move with her" I don't know what it was, but I think it was a combination of being tired, and not wanting Michael to go, not to mention I thought that he was dumping me. "So you're leaving? Leaving me to go with your aunt!"
"That's not what I said"
"You didn't have to say it Michael, I can see it in your eyes"
"Well then you're not looking hard enough"
"Michael, I don't care, go on, go with your aunt, see if I care"
"Nicole--" "Don't Nicole me, Michael, just leave, go live happily ever after with your aunt, see if I care!"
"Fine! I hope you live happily ever after with Jake!"
"What!!??!"
"You heard me!!" Michael stood up "I won't come back!" He warned. "I don't care!"
"Alright....goodbye Nicole" he said almost sadly. "Good riddance" I snapped and Michael left. What have I done??
