May gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, named Annelise. George couldn't be happier!

********

***Update***
It's now the summer of 1904, Annelise is now 3 years old, and May is pregnant with her second child.
"Here you go dear" May smiled sweetly but subtly at her husband, with a hint of sadness. He immediately noticed.
"You want something?" He smiled playfully. "I received a letter early this morning, I broke the seal and read it--"
"Who was it from?" George butted in.
"It was from my mother, daddy has an illness, they don't know how much longer he'll be alive" May told him, trying not to make direct eye contact.
"I know that you don't like him very much, but would you happen to mind if I took a carriage to go and see him?"
"I may not be very fond of him, but he is still your father, you should go"
"Are you sure? What about Annelise?"
"I am most definately sure, besides we have Maggie to look after Annelise, everything will be fine" he reasurred her.
The next morning May was packed and ready to leave in the horse-drawn carriage, that was now awaiting her.
"I'll come right home after the funeral" She promised a small tear falling off her cheek and onto the dusty floor. "We'll miss you" George told her. May hugged him goodbye, and he kissed her on her cheek. May ran her fingers through Annelise's hair, and kissed her cheek. She said good-bye again as she got in the carriage.
May arrived at her father's towards the end of the day. She was informed by her mother that he had past in his sleep that morning, May walked in to see her now peaceful father. She kneeled down at his side, whispered to him "I love you" and stayed there crying until she could cry no more. May's father's funeral was scheduled for the next day, being rich, a lot of people knew who he was and wanted to pay their respects. But May's mother only wanted a small funeral with herself and May. As her mother left the funeral, her joyous smile that would lift people's spirits was no-where to be seen, she was alone in the world and she had no reason to smile. A few days after the funeral May returned home to her family, who were overjoyed to see her. May immediately picked Annelise up and gave her a gasping for breath hug. A few months later George was in another familier situation..... Within a few hours, the midwife came to talk to George she had cleaned up the baby and brought her out too.
"I have some bad news for you I'm afraid" George prepared himself for the worst. "May's lost a lot of blood" she told him. George couldn't beleive it. "I've called the doctor, but I don't think he'll make it in time" she then left George.
George cried, for the first time since he was 7 he cried. George's father referred to crying as a sign of weakness, that's why women cry all the time, he used to tell him. George of course always defended the women, and couldn't help but feel weak as he stood there crying. George finally gathered up the courage to see May. "Do you know how beautiful you are?" George told her as he caressed her cheek. A faint smile was all May could attempt. "I love you soo much" George told her, trying to comfort her, tears now pouring down his cheeks. "Don't....b...be...s...s...sad" May managed to say, opening her eyes and looking at him.
"I'm sorry May, I'm sorry for all the things I never did, I'm sorry for you"
"It's.....nnnot....your fault, dddon't..b..blame yours--"
"May!!??!? MAY!!?!? Answer me!" But she was silent....
