THE VAN HELSING CHRONICLES~~PART III

Our tale continues to unfold...we pick up our story in a secluded section of the Scottish Highlands...Mina Harker is about to be given an offer she cannot possibly refuse...

At the Carberry Estate, Mina has indeed consented to marry the handsome and darkly mysterious Lord Nightwood. She is entirely captivated and has hardly had a second thought for Edward, the man she supposedly loves.

"Let us not wait another moment Mina my sweet, let us marry as soon as possible, within the week!" Raynor proclaimed.
Mina was stunned. "Within the week? But I wanted to get married at my parent's home, have my family in attendance. They could not make it to Scotland within a week..." her voice trailed off sadly.

"Then we will have to have the ceremony without them." Raynor said firmly. "I will not wait Mina, it is now or not at all."

Meanwhile back in England at the Van Helsing's; the young couple finally said their goodnights after the joyous wedding and reception and retired to the newly decorated bedroom they will now share.
Jon caresses Verity's blushing cheek, murmuring words of love and devotion to her.
Alone at last, Jon wastes no time in gathering his new bride in his arms and kissing her passionately.
All fears of their wedding night have left Verity. Her Aunt Carolina was right...all will fall into place.
How she loved Jon so...
"My love...a very bright future awaits us, I feel in deep in my soul." Jon whispered huskily. "We will have many happy years together, nothing can separate us!"
They went over to their bed and Jon embraced Verity tenderly.
"Together, for always..." Verity said in hushed tones.
They reached for each other.
Finally Mina gave in to Raynor's insistence, he was indeed a hard man to say no to. The small wedding took place in the early evening at Nightwood's estate with only the Vicar and the Carberry's in attendance.
Raynor gallantly carried Mina over the threshold of their martial bedroom. Mina was indeed blissful...or so she thought.
"My darling Mina...now we are married. How contented you have made me. However, there is one shall we say, small obstacle that we should get out of the way? I neglected to tell you a secret about myself, a family secret that you must keep now that you are my loving wife..."

Mina looked at Raynor quizzically. "What is it my love?"
Raynor began to hiss most menacingly at Mina. She saw a flash of long teeth. Mina had seen that look and gesture before... from Edward! Surely not...My God!!!!

Raynor saw the dawn of realization on Mina's face. The horror...he began to laugh cruelly.
"Yes my sweet, I am Vampyre!"
Mina looked around quickly about the room for a place to hide, run...anything to get away from that snarling evil! How could she have been so stupid, so naive and guileless?
She turned from Edward, her first love, only to find herself in the clutches of another creature of the night?
She began to scream...frantic piercing screams of total dismay and fright.
Raynor quickly calmed Mina; his penetrating eyes pulled her into a trance. "Now listen closely my sweet, I have married you for one reason only...I want children. It was not from a lack of trying over the years, but it seems vampires cannot procreate; it is extremely rare. However it seems there is something in your family line that allows you to mate with vampires."

"How...how do you know this?" Mina asked dubiously, her voice shaking.
Raynor's face changed, his mocking cruelty was overtaken by a look of distain. "The vampire that made me, you know of him by the name 'Count Dracula'. Long ago we were friends...I have kept close watch on his activities over the years, how is not important, I know about him and your grandmother, and the fact they had children together."

Mina voice began to get shrill. 'What has that to do with me? Why this pretense of love and devotion? You tricked me; you lured me into this sham of a marriage! You don't love me at all!"
Raynor hissed softly at Mina. "I don't believe in love, I never have, I never will. It is a human weakness; I am above such petty emotions. It clouds one's judgement. You are proof of that my sweet..." Raynor's tongue moved over his sharp teeth. "I do, however derive great pleasure in the act of love..." Raynor chuckled softly.

"But...you tricked me!" A great sob escaped from Mina's throat.
Raynor thought for a moment. "Yes, I did trick you, it was most easy, you are weak. It is done now. I don't dislike you my sweet, you have a luminous beauty I find most compelling. However, give me children and I give you my word no harm shall come to you or your family."

Mina was mortified. What had she done? Now he was threatening her family! Her thoughts turned to Edward again. 'Oh Edward, Edward! I have been so foolish!' she cried inwardly.
"But," Mina sputtered desperately. "What if I cannot give you any children, just because my grandmother..."

Raynor held up his hand to silence her. "I will hear no such talk. The subject is closed. You will have children, I know it in my heart."

"You do not have a heart!" Mina cried, her voice laced with anger and tears.

"Oh yes my sweet, I do. But you shall never have any part of it." Raynor whispered firmly.
Raynor glided over to Mina, and quickly began to embrace and kiss her. Despite her horror and misgivings, Mina found herself responding.
"You are lovely," he murmured. "But before we consummate the marriage, pray excuse me if I take a quick bite my sweet; all of the sudden I hunger..." Before Mina could protest, Raynor sunk his sharp fangs into her neck.

Mina cried out.
The months soon flew by; Jon and Vic were immersed in their studies at the university, Jon in Business, Vic in Medicine. They spent most of their days together, Vic even moved into the large flat with Verity and Jon at their insistence. The three were very close, and growing closer... After several months staying with Jon and Vic at a small flat near the University, Verity soon found herself back at the Van Helsing estate, she was carrying Jon's child and it was agreed she should have her confinement at home. She was a little saddened to be separated from Jon, but understood the reasons. She could not wait for Jon's next visit...and Vic's as well, if she were to be honest with herself. The months passed quickly at Victor's Carfax Abbey, He retired from his part-time post at the University, he could longer explain why he looked as young as his son, and younger than some of his students. Besides, he did not want to venture far from Carolina's side.
To everyone's surprise, Carolina gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, who they named Garrard and Gabriele. She experienced some difficulty, but soon recovered.
As for Edward Van Helsing, he settled in to a resigned acceptance of being a vampire. His looks have changed considerably. His boyish handsomeness has taken on a more feral, gaunt and slightly ferocious look. But he remained a remarkable and imposing male specimen nonetheless.
Still he struggled silently with his heartbreak over Mina's rejection of him and her marriage to a Scottish Lord.
Up in the highest tower of Carfax Abbey, Victor and Edward toiled away in the makeshift laboratory they have set up to try and make some sense of the 'curse'.
Taking blood samples from themselves and testing them, they have observed anomalies, but still have no inkling on how to change or alter it.
"I feel we are getting close, Victor!" Edward cried. "I believe it will be a matter of time, we have discovered so much already!"

Edward began dictating notes to Victor, who vigorously transcribed them into the dictograph.
The Count walked into the tower room. "Here you are Victor! I have just seen the children, they are thriving remarkably well, as is Carolina!!"
Dracula noticed how intense the two men were. "What are you both up to?" he questioned, his eyebrows raised.
Edward turned to face Dracula. "If you must know, we are trying to find a cure for the curse you so callously passed on to your son, and to me!" He said, his voice laced with scorn.

Dracula was thunderstruck.
"Have you lost all leave of your senses? CURE? There is no cure! Utter nonsense! I always knew you were a fool Van Helsing, like your father before you! I thought you have accepted what you have become!" Dracula thundered loudly.

"Accept?? Just because I am resigned to my fate does not mean I have to like it! Do you think I want to wind up like you? A walking corpse, soulless, empty!"
Dracula hissed and began to move toward Edward.
Victor stood and immediately stepped between the two enraged vampires.

"Please, enough. We cannot fight each other; it is fruitless. I will not have it. We all have to exist here at this estate let us not be at each other's throats...for the good of the family." Victor uttered softly.

"Father, try and understand. We have not had hundreds of years as yourself to adjust to this. Surely even you must grow weary of this existence. If there is a way to suppress the hunger in me, I want to find it. If there is a cure for this life-state, Edward will want to find it. This gives us hope. Do not rob us of this."

Dracula listened closely to his son's impassioned plea.
"I will not stand in your way my son. Even though I believe it is folly, I shall not interfere." Dracula turned to Edward. "I am not soulless, and neither are you. I agree with my son, let us not fight each other." Dracula smiled curtly.

Edward looked from Victor to Dracula. He smiled slightly in return. He still did not entirely trust the Count, but for Victor's sake he would pledge peace...for now.
As Raynor predicted, Mina was soon expecting a child. She sits alone during the long days, high in the secluded highlands, while upstairs her husband slumbers. She rarely sees the Carberry's now.
Her solitude has given her plenty of time to reflect on what has transpired the last several months. 'What a fool I was to run from Edward'. She thought sadly to herself. Now it was too late...
It was this very afternoon her parents, Harrison and Laura Harker arrived. Mina could not believe her eyes.

"Mother! Father! How are you here?" Mina cried with delight.

"We wanted to surprise you my dear!" Harrison smiled.
"It has been so long since we have seen you! Our trunks are at your Uncle's."

Mina ran into her father's arms. She always had a special relationship with her father. It warmed her greatly to have both her parents here.

Laura watched the tender scene. "Mina! Are you well? You look so pale!"

Mina smiled wanly. She muttered some excuse, her confinement perhaps. How could she tell them about Raynor and his "love nips"?
"Where is your husband, Lady Nightwood?" Harrison said cheerfully. He began to talk to the baby.

"Oh Harrison, really!!" Laura scolded.

"I am so happy, a grandchild on the way! Where is Raynor...we have yet to met him!" Harrison insisted.

Mina smiled weakly and stated her husband would be back this evening. Inwardly she was worried, how would Raynor take to this surprise visit?

As dusk began to settle over the rolling hills, Mina ran for Raynor's bedchamber. He did not slumber in a coffin, as he was not raised from the dead as Dracula had been.

"Wake up!" Mina hissed. She looked down at the sleeping Raynor. For a moment her heart skittered at the sight of him, but she shook her head and dismissed any such thoughts. This man tricked her in a most underhanded way!
Raynor yawned and stretched, he got up to face Mina. "The sun has barely set, why have you disturbed me?" He exclaimed roughly.

"My parents are downstairs, just arrived from London. I did not invite them they came of their own volition. I thought to warn you." Mina said flatly.
"Tell them to get out! I will not have them here to poke and prod in my business! I will not be disturbed in my own home by your interfering family! Get rid of them now!" Raynor hissed.

Mina stood and looked at her husband, anger began to wash over her, anger she could not control.
"I most certainly will not! They are here to visit me, they have come a great distance! It would do me good to have someone here that actually loves me, treasures me, respects me!! I say they will stay, and as long as they like!" Mina thundered belligerently. Raynor began to chuckle softly. "What is this? Am I actually seeing a spine in Mina Harker? Where is the little mouse I married? I must say my sweet, this is a side of you I have never seen before and I am enjoying it immensely!" His menacing grey eyes danced merrily. Raynor suddenly grabbed Mina and kissed her on the lips. "I like this side of you, Lady Nightwood, but in future pray, do not over play your hand; I am not a man to be bullied by the likes of you. Now, go downstairs and join your parents, I will be down directly." He kissed her once again, more deeply this time, then released her. "We shall say business keeps me from home during the day, agreed?"

Mina nodded slowly. Her hand went to her lips...they were still burning from his touch...
Mina gave birth to a daughter, who they named Raylene. The child was barely 1 year old and she was expecting once again. Raynor told her they would keep going until he had sons. As she held her daughter close, her thoughts once again drifted to Edward. A pain shot though her as she relived their last time together...she was so cruel and heartless, how can he ever forgive her? Would she ever see him again?
And what were these strange stirrings in her heart for Raynor?
About the same time Mina was thinking longingly of Edward, he too was recalling their last encounter.
As the logs crackled with ferocity in the stone fireplace, he admonished himself for his extreme reaction to her initial rejection. A forlorn loneliness has settled over Edward's heart.
He hung his head in shame. He could have handled it better. He could have gone to see her the very next evening to clear the air. All Mina needed was some tender understanding and surely she would have come around. It was a lot to ask of someone, to embrace his new-life state. Her words were still ringing in his ear...'evil creature'. How those words pierced his heart over and over the last few years. Edward looked up, the firelight dancing off his gaunt, handsome face. It was best to try and forget her and move on with the life fate had chosen for him. Forget Mina and her marriage to Lord What's-his-name, and the child she had borne. His heart throbbed with pain at the thought of Mina having someone else's child.
Yes, for his sanity's sake it was time to move on...
Out of nowhere about 4 years after Sabrina left abruptly, she suddenly made an appearance at the Harker's. Harrison Harker was utterly shocked at Sabrina's reappearance.
"Sabrina! My God, it has been so long! You sent no word you were coming back!" Harrison cried. His attention immediately turned to the small flaxen haired child standing with her. He already feared the worst.
"Who is this child?" Harrison questioned softly.
"This is Aidan Edward Van Helsing, my son." Sabrina said proudly.

"Van...Van Helsing. I see. So he is Edward's son!?" Harrison's voice rose to a shrill level. "Is this why you went away? All this time...not a word!! To anyone! I swear you have ice water in your veins!"
Sabrina turned to face Harrison. "Yes, ice water, so I have been told. He is Edward's son; make no mistake. He is a very special boy, just as Victor was. I have brought him home to meet and get to know his father..." Sabrina's voice trailed off.

Harrison looked from the boy Aidan back to Sabrina. My God, another half-vampire in the family! What on earth could happen next?
The next evening, Harrison went over to the Van Helsing's. He had to warn Edward about Sabrina's surprise reappearance, and the existence of the child.

Edward looked up from his book. "Why Uncle Harrison! So good to see you! Come let us go into the parlour, it has been awhile!" Edward said in a warm, friendly tone.
Harrison began to explain about Sabrina's disappearance the last few years. Edward realized he hardly gave Sabrina a second thought ever since that night. Harrison explained Sabrina had returned, and she had someone with her, a small child.
"She claims it is yours, Edward. Is this true?" Harrison asked quietly.
Edward was quiet for several moments. Harrison could not read the expression on Edward's face; it was a mask of controlled anger.
Edward's eyes narrowed and darkened. "A regrettable mistake, it happened only once. I ask your forgiveness, bringing this shame upon your family. You are sure it is mine?" Edward said through clenched teeth.
Harrison sighed. "He certainly has your features, down to the hair colour. Sabrina claims he is half-vampire, I suppose if he is yours, that would indeed be the fact."
Edward closed his eyes in torment. "I am sorry Uncle Harrison, but I do not want anything to do with Sabrina or the child."

Harrison began to get agitated. "Vampire or no, Edward, you have a responsibility toward this child. He will need guidance, as he gets older. Look at what Victor has to deal with...your son will face the same obstacles. More so! Do not forget Sabrina has a little vampire blood! Think on that." Harrison turned and left Edward standing in the study.
Edward clenched his fists. Damn!!! Sabrina continues to insinuate her way into my life!!!
The years clicked by for the Van Helsing and the Harker clans...children were born, children grew, careers were pursued, love was shared, arguments and heartache, joy and contentment were experienced.

The world changed as well. Technology was ruling the world; the Victorian age was over.
The most frightening and disturbing event that happened to the families was the fire at Carfax Abbey in 1911. The family managed to escape, Vic and Victor even managed to save the vampires, but Carfax was a total ruin. The scientific research Victor and Edward were working on was lost as well; they would have to start over... Vic, now a prominent Doctor in the area, stops by to inspect the rebuilding taking place on the old Carfax Abbey lot. The family is safely tucked away in a secluded rental property high in the mountains nearby. Gone are the dark foreboding castle towers and stained glass windows of the Abbey. The Harkers would have a more modern home, with a Georgian look. They would have the privacy they crave... It is now the early summer of 1914. Jon is now firmly established at the Royal Bank of London. His happy marriage to Verity continues to thrive as does his children, Adelaide is 8 years old and Warner is 7 years of age. Over at the Harker's:
"Victor! Listen to this,;the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria has been assassinated! And his wife too, monsterous! This bears an ill-wind, mark my words. I fear war will break out." Dracula declared solemnly.

"War? Over an assassination?" Victor asked quizzically.

"Yes my son, in all these hundreds of years, I have seen many wars started over less..." Dracula hissed.
Dracula's ominous prediction became true in a matter of weeks, war was indeed declared. On this day in early Aug 1914, Jon had summoned his close friend, Vic.

"Vic, I know you are busy with your medical duties, but I have a favour to ask of you, as my closest friend I need you to look out for Verity and the children, you see...I have joined the army. I am afraid Mother will not take it very well, she will need your support, too." Jon smiled wanly. "I will ask Edward for his assistance as well, but he has his own concerns. You are the one I will trust with my life, my loves..."
Vic was stunned. "But Jon, all of Europe will be fighting in this conflict, it could go on for years! If something were to happen to you!"

"It is something I feel very strongly about Vic, I will need your assistance to make everyone understand. "

Vic could not believe it, Jon going off to war...
The two men embraced warmly. "I am afraid I will have to cut my hair!" Jon laughed nervously. "Not regulation length, Verity will be disappointed, she always loved my hair..." Jon's voice trailed off sadly. "I know I can count on you Vic. It will help knowing you will be looking out for my family."

Vic patted his friend on the back reassuredly. "Of course, you can count on me, always..."
The two men said their good-byes, Vic turned to leave. Jon watched after him, his heart aching.
Will he ever see his dear friend again? Or any of his family?
Was he indeed making the right decision?
After two daughters, Raylene and Ulrika, Mina finally gave birth to Raynor's long awaited son. Raynor named him 'Wolfram' after his long-dead noble father.
Inasmuch as Raynor adored his daughters, his son held a special part of his heart. Raynor laid the small toddler back in his crib and tucked in him.
Mina joined Raynor in the nursery. She stared straight ahead in a low voice she said, 'I have done everything you asked, nay demanded. You have your precious son, will you please let me take the girls and return to my family in England?" she asked, her voice quivering. "If there is a spark of humanity left in you, any compassion in your soul, you will allow me and the girls to leave." Mina said softly, in an urgent tone.

Raynor stood, saying nothing. There was no sound in the room except for Wolfram's quiet breathing.
Raynor turned and faced Mina, his face twisted in anger. "I think not. You are my wife and you shall stay here as long as it suits me! The children need a mother's care! Daily care I cannot nor am able to give them! You are needed here! Do not bring up this subject again!"
Wolfram stirred in his crib.
"Why do you want to keep me here? You do not love or care for me at all! I am merely a baby machine and wet nurse to you, nothing more! What will happen when I am no longer able to bear children, will I be tossed out into the street?? Or worse, perhaps!" Her voice cried shrilly. "Don't be ridiculous! Have I not treated you well? Have I not given everything you could possibly want? What more do you want from me?" Raynor barked.

Mina wanted to scream...Love! I want love! I want you to care for me! It was true; she loved him. Many days she sat alone after her marriage, wondering if there was some way to destroy him, to get away. She realized with stark horror that she loved him, the feelings filled her with dread.
Nonetheless, Mina pulled in close to Raynor; she reached up and began to caress his handsome face. "There is love and compassion in you, I know it." Mina purred. 'If only you would break that stone wall that you have put around your heart..."

Raynor felt as if his cheek was on fire where Mina caressed him. The warmth began to spread throughout his body.
Raynor's heart began to beat wildly. Mina's loving touch both angered and excited him. The blood began to roar in his head.
'NO!!!" He snarled in a rough, gravel voice.
He backs away from Mina and began to hiss at her menacingly.
"You ARE a monster!!" Mina cried in terror. "Stay away from me...Oh why did I try to reach out to so grotesque an animal!!" Mina ran crying from the nursery.

Wolfram began to wail in his cradle.
Raynor immediately buried his face in his hands. No tears came. But he felt heartsick, to his very core. Why was he pushing her away? This beautiful woman reached out to him and he almost attacked her.

Wolfram howled loudly...
The day arrived for Captain Jon Van Helsing to leave for camp. It was dusk, and he had to depart to catch the evening train for London to join his regiment.
Edward tried to keep the mood light, but already his mother and Verity were inconsolable.
"I swore to myself I would not cry..." Verity's lower lip trembled. "But I cannot help it, Oh Jon, this is torturous, I cannot bear the thought of you being away from us and in such danger!" The hot tears began to spill over her cheeks.

Edward looked on helplessly.
Jon put his arm around Verity tenderly. "My dear love, I know you will be brave, look out for mother and the children, will you? There's my dear girl..."

Edward turned away, as a few tears were beginning to spill down his cheeks as well.
" I promise...write me Jon when you can. Where will you be?" Verity's voice trembled as she tried to wipe away her tears.

"As far as I have been told, The London regiment will be going to the Western Front somewhere in France, I would imagine. Do not despair love, it will be over quickly." Jon said quietly.
" Now come my love, we must say good-bye. All will be well, I promise you." Jon grabbed Verity and kissed her with all the love and tenderness he felt in his heart.

Verity clung to him tightly, she did not want to let go, she never wanted to let go...
Adelaide ran to her father. "Oh daddy, daddy please don't go!" she wailed. "Please stay here! I don't want you to go!" Her little heart was breaking into pieces.

Jon hugged his daughter tightly. "Look after your mother and brother, my treasure.." he whispered. With one last look at his family, his mother and Edward, Jon turned on his heel and was gone.
Life continued on at the Van Helsing's until one late fall day in 1914, visitors showed up at the door.
"Good Morning, I am Major Donald Cooper of the Grenadier Guards. I have come to speak with Mrs. Jon Van Helsing; it is most urgent. Can you please tell her I am here?" The Major stated politely.

Jane eyes began to blink rapidly...No...NO!!!
Jane began to scream at the top of her lungs when she spotted the Vicar. The Vicar began to smile slightly, as if to soothe her. This could only mean one thing...

"Calm yourself Mrs. Van Helsing, please..." The Vicar asked worriedly.
It was if time were frozen...she saw the men moving their lips, but she could not hear a word being spoken to her.

She immediately collapsed from the shock, and landed hard on the floor. The two men rushed to her side and began to yell for help. The maid arrived and the two concerned men sent her for a Doctor.
Verity ran for the front entrance, she spotted Jane on the carpet.
"She has fainted, I have sent for the Doctor," The Vicar said quietly.
"Mrs Jon Van Helsing? Wife of Captain Jon Van Helsing?" The Major asked sadly. "I regret to inform you..."

Verity screamed "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"

A couple of things: I skipped ahead some years in this chapter, sorry if it seems jarring, I can't stand playing with toddler sims! LOL! Also had a major problem with my Carfax Abbey lot where Victor lives, I started up the game and the lot was gone! All the characters were standing on the sidewalk looking around a empty lot! It must have got corrupted somehow, after banging my head on the keyboard, I decided to write it into the story! Also I didn't expect a character to have twins, so I wrote that in too! Also clothing for early 1910 are not easy to find, so some of the men are dressed more modern than they should be. I will stop babbling now!\:\)

Excellent job as always! Can I just say that I want to slap Mina although I don't blame her for having feelings for Raynor. I doubt it's love though...PLEASE don't let Raynor fall in love with her!!!! And when is the Count going to find out Raynor is 'alive' and kicking?

I won't even start on Sabrina. Another woman whose neck I want to throttle! And Edward is looking mighty fine I must say! Great job! I just loved it.

Still under the inflence of Wuthering Heights, I perceive. \:\) (Raynor / Mina, Heathcliff / Isabella) You have a refreshingly cynical, yet realistic take on relationships. I like especially the facts that Mina and Raynor manage to fall in love merely through the passage of time, inspite of their better judgements, and that Edward, by dint of responsibility, will apparently find himself hooked to Sabrina (whom he imagined he could cast off casually).

Sending poor Jon off to war is inspired, though he has a lot of tour ribbons for a newly-enlisted captain... I know you're not responsible for the details of the skins, though. \;\)

And shirtless Raynor, OMG, your men are awesome\:D Mina as a baby machine - I feel sorry for her too, but she agreed to marry Raynor, so she deserved it somehow. She should have seen that Raynor is not a loving, caring kind of man...

What a surprise, coming here and finding not one but two chapters of the Van Helsing Chronicles waiting for me to be read! Wonderful writing, gorgeous screenshots!
Oh, I really hope Raynor will become more "human". And Jon going to war - yes, I could see that coming. Poor Verity. But it might be a chance for Vic \;\)
And so I was right - Sabrina indeed had Edwards child, hehehe! Things should become even more interesting now \:P
And the vicar! You cannot give him a heart, now, can you, LOL! \:eek\:

I agree with GFitz; not sure I want Raynor to become more human, but is he ever HOT HOT!!! Still do not like Mina -- now come on, Mina, that's "love" you feel for that guy??? Edward is still my favorite, well ok, maybe Victor...

Beautiful work; inspired way to deal with that "disappearing house" problem! I loved every screen!

Wonderfully crafted chapter, I love the history you included (leading up to WW I) And I love it Dracula is constant reading the paper for the day's headlines, LOL! Such emotion in your stories, the friendship between Vic and Jon is well done, the turbulent relationship between Raynor and Mina, I agree with others, don't make Raynor too human, we have Edward for that! You got some great comments too, well done!\:cool\:

The rating option isn't available for some reason...dunno why, but I'll rate later! I loved it so much. So much drama stirring up among these families, more half-vamps being born. Intrigued as to what kind of trouble they'll stir up in the future, and what will happen between Mina and Raynor. All your male sims are such hotties, hahaha. And I had to laugh at seeing the Vicar. Great job! And I love that there are so many subplots, because it means you won't be able to end it for a long time! \:D

\:rah\:I feel your pain! I've lost lots recently, too. But, you worked it into the story beautifully! I love this chapter- so full of passion! Poor Jon! I don't know how you do it, keeping a story together so flawlessly with so many characters! It's wonderful, as usual. I can't wait to read the next part! As much as Mina deserves whatever Raynor dishes out, I do hope he eventually returns her love. He seems to want and need it so desperately, one can't help but feel sympathy for him. And little Wolfram wailing in the background is so heart-wrenching! They have to get it together for the children's sake. See how you've pulled me into this story?!?\:wub\: Absolute 5.0!!!

noooooo.... did you kill Jon off the story??? nooooo...... he was so cute.... So great how you improvised with the Carfax Abbey. I love it that your characters are not all bad or all goodie goodie. Raynor just might have a loving side on him after all. 1910 male clothing huh? Well, I don't know but you could find a lot of period clothing on Parsimonious and perhaps all about style. did you try Mod the Sims and Insimenator? It's really fab how you tried to keep everything authentic to the time (love the dictograph, where did you get it from?). I'm still going to rate your story though, since it deserves a total 5.0!!!! \:wub\: \:wub\: \:wub\:

Yet another fantastic update on this refreshing version of the Dracula clan. I thought the time-acceleration was perfect, I know what you mean about that part of playing and I love the way you've incorperated "game-happenings" (Twin births...Don't you just love it when the game throws you a curve ball?\:D ) into the plot. So perfect!

I was sorry to read about Jon, but WW1 did take a heavy toll on the young men of england.... far too many in fact. I grieve for the lost ones, and look forward to the next brilliant part!

\:P A fantastic chapter in this vampyre saga. I love all the costumes and the way you made the years fly by. Also, your use of historical events is a very nice touch, as it adds realism and drama to the story.
