"Rainee's Terrible Secret" - Starring Rainee, Sunny and Dusty Rhodes, and featuring Leod McGreggor.
"Don't worry about it, my sexy Scotsman... my husband won't be home for hours. Dusty's at school until three o'clock."
"Och, hen, ah cannae help feelin faird yer family willa find oot."
Rainee also felt guilty after their trysts, but she just couldn't stop loving Leod. He was so gentle, and so caring, concerned for her family as well as for her. Sometimes Rainee wondered if she was being used, or if Leod felt the same way about her? Then she started to wonder if perhaps, it was she who was using Leod? It was so seedy, the scuffle that happened 15 minutes before Dusty was due home from school. Frantic changing into clothes, brushing of hair, straightening of composition. Rainee knew that she couldn't go like this. She felt strongly about Leod... Admittedly, it was lust more than love if she were to be truthful. But she really couldn't let this go on for much longer without Sunny finding out. Leod felt consumed with guilt. Och, ay, what about the wee laddie? He felt a right eejit most of the time. Then one day, the inevitable happened... Dusty came home early from school to find his mother in a passionate embrace with Leod. He tiptoed quietly out of the house before bursting into anguished sobs. He looked for a place to hide, because he just didn't know what to do. He needed to be alone, to digest what he'd just seen. The man in his mother's bedroom must have left while he was hiding, because he'd gone by the time Sunny came home from work. "Daddy, I'm so happy to see you," Dusty said, his little voice cracking into tears again.
"Oh, Big Guy, I missed you today as well. Is everything okay?"
Sunny knew he was treading sensitive ground here, and didn't want to act too concerned. Dusty would die of embarrassment if he thought his dad knew he was crying. He was such a proud little boy.
"Let's go inside and have a guy's chat, shall we?" Sunny felt a bit better that his dad was being so cool and easy to be with. He explained, he'd seen something when he got home from school that had made him feel kinda funny. It was to do with mom, and some guy, who he'd never seen before. As Rainee walked into the room, Dusty jumped up to leave - he didn't know what to think of his mother, let alone what to say to her. Sunny motioned for them to both take a seat so they could have a proper family discussion. Inside he felt like his heart was twisting but he hoped... he hoped... nothing too serious was about to present itself. "Go ahead, son, our family has always been honest with each other. If there's something on your mind, you should let us both know so we can clear up anything that might be confusing you." "Confusing me? I'm not the one who's confused. Honest with each other? Maybe you should ask if SHE is honest? Or if SHE is confused about who she loves?" "Me?" asked Rainee, suddenly startled. She filled with a terrible dread... had Dusty found out? had he seen anything? when? what had he seen?
"Sweetheart, I'm not sure I know what you mean? You know I have always told you the truth." "Mom! That is such a lie! Can you explain who that strange man was, who I saw you kissing with today? It was so gross! I came home early from school because I felt ill, but you just made me feel even more sick!" "Ooooh... honey! haha! My poor baby!" Rainee looked deperately for an excuse, laughing to disguise her discomfort. "That was my old friend from college, Dwayne. Sunny, darling, you remember Dwayne?" "Oh yeah, he was such a dorky guy. Very sweet though, how is he?"
"No, he's absolutely fine! he looked us up in the phonebook because he was passing though Riverblossom Hills for the day. He's on tour with his Romeo and Juliet troop, they're doing a show in the next town tonight!"
"Rainee my darling, was he practising his kissing with you again?" Sunny teased. "Yes, my darling, I'm afraid he was!" chuckled Rainee.
"Oh, Dusty," said Sunny, "Dwayne was this guy were in drama classes with at college. He always had this huge crush on your mom, and so he would make excuses to 'practise' his stage kissing with her. I didn't mind, I know your mom loves me and would never cheat on me." "Well, that sounds kinda wierd to me, grown-up's are crazy I think I'll go to bed now," and with that, Dusty got up, and left his strange parents behind him, giggling and reminiscing about college in the living room. Later on that evening, Rainee sat and thought about how close that had been. She had a feeling Dusty hadn't believed her completely, and she felt he might keep a close watch on his mother for the next few weeks. While Sunny was in the shower, Rainee made an urgent phonecall to Leod. "We can't see each other for a while! My son saw us today!"
"Och, ah'm scunner to hear it! ah've been a right diddy. What are ye going tae dae?"
"Look Leod, I can't really talk, but I've made up a sound excuse and we'll be okay for now. I'll call you... bye." Rainee could not get over how close it has all been. She felt relieved that it wasover with Leod.. for now. She felt starving, even though she'd just had dinner. What she really craved was some salty cucumber... hmmm... no cucumber in the fridge. She'd have to go out and get some. She simply HAD to have it! Rainee and Sunny had quite a romantic evening together before they fell asleep. Chatting about old times had stirred up some loving feelings... Rainee's cravings explained themselves after a few months. She tried desperately to remember if they had started before her romantic night with her husband, which had been the first with him in a while... And so, although her pregnancy was a joyful time for Sunny and Dusty, Rainee felt plagued with worry, trying to figure out who's baby this was. One morning, she felt very sleepy and lay down on the couch for a nap. She woke with a start when the memory of her first craving snapped into her mind. There was no way this baby was Sunny's! The cravings had started the day Dusty had seen her with Leod! This was Leod's baby! What was she to do? She sank into a depression, knowing her days with her perfect family might be numbered. What would Sunny do when he found out the baby wasn't his?
One day, the doorbell rang. Rainee dragged herself out of her bed, and walked laboriously to the front door. "Leod!"
"Rainee... Och... Hen... yer hae a wee bairn on the way...? Is it, yer know, mine?"
"Leod, yes! I didn't know whether to tell you..."
"Come now, pet, yer haverin', hen! Fer sure, yer should hae told me!"
"Well come in, come in... what are we going to do?"
"Leod, my husband will know! The minute the baby is born! Its skin... you're well, you're so white!"
"Aye... hen don't fret. We will think o' something. Now come here and give that bairn's daddy a wee kiss like" Rainee couldn't believe she was about to do this.. she was 7 1/2 months pregnant for heaven's sake! Leod was so sweet though, so charming an irresistable, and completely attracted to Rainee's new body. Temporarily, she forgot the trouble she was in... ... unfortunately, the baby didn't seem to be enjoying itself as much as its mother, and Leod found himself driving a hysterical woman in premature labour to the closest hospital.
"My son! Dusty! He's going to come home to an empty house! he won't know where I am ... OWWWWW!!!!!" Leod called Dusty's school from the hospital and arranged for the schoolbus to make a detour to the hospital to drop him off with his mother. Dusty waited in the hospital reception until he knew his Dad would be home so he could call him. He was so worried about his mom, she'd said the baby wouldn't come for another month or two. The doctors wouldn't let him see his mom yet, because they weren't sure if the baby would survive. Sunny rushed over to the hospital as soon as he heard. Together, they waited and worried. The doctors were still busy with Rainee. They didn't know if the baby was a boy or girl... or even, alive. While they were talking, they both noticed something rather strange taking place... one of the doctors came out of a ward with a newborn baby, and walked straight out of the recpetion... ... suddenly there was a roar of a helicopter, which landed deftly outside and the doctor and the baby vanished into it a few seconds later. Sunny and Dusty shrugged to each other, "I guess there must have been some emergency where they needed to take the baby away to another hospital," said Sunny. Suddenly Rainee's doctor came running out of the ward screaming, "Stop that man! He's a fake doctor! he's stealing a baby!" But the kidnapper was long gone into the night. Sunny had an aweful feeling, and followed Dr. Grant outside to ask her, "Who's baby was it?" "I'm sorry Mr. Rhodes. It was your baby. I can't imagine how you must feel... We had no idea that man was in the baby room. He was dressed as all the other doctors, and security when noticed him leaving the hospital with the baby, they alerted the nurses in the ward - they thought it looked suspicious... I'm so sorry to have got here too late..." "My... our ba... oh! Doctor! Oh, Dusty... oh no!"
"Sir, I will call the police right away. But right now, your wife is in a stable condition, but she's not quite ready for visitors quite yet. I suggest you go home with your son, and I'll call you with any updates." Back at home, a schocked and distressed Sunny sat and consoled his son. "It's going to be okay Dusty. They'll find the baby... I'm sure of it. There, there..." As the seasons passed, the Rhodes family learned to live with the dull ache that their baby son had been kidnapped, every day waiting and hoping for some news from the detectives. Only Rainee knew the truth, that her baby son had been kidnapped by his real father. She'd seen Leod creep into the baby room and take him.. she felt relived at least to know her little boy was in safe hands, even though she was heartbroken. She desperately wanted to see her son, she dreamed of holding him - she'd been so worried he might not even survive, and now she'd never know if he had... it was like Leod had just vanished! She couldn't get hold of him on the phone - couldn't find him anywhere. One chilly autumn morning, she picked up the paper and read the headline: " 'Local Scotsman Suspected of Murder' - Police have been searching for notorius serial killer Wedgewood Harris, who they suspect has been living in Riverblossom Hills under the alias Leod McGreggor and who has once again, mysteriously disappeared..." Rainee collapsed in a heap - this was the most devastating news ever! Her baby was potentially being raised by a notorius murderer! What would she do? Who could she tell?

That was a great chapter! I have no complaints or criticisms. I am very curious to where it's going. I read it thoroughly, (I tend to skim if writing is dull or repetitive, you kept my 100% attention) screenshots were good, good writing. I liked the whole fishing metaphor with the falling in love. Great job!

The story is very cool, but should go a bit slower.. find it a bit hard to read (not enough time).
And I agree with the rest (she should really tell her husband..)
