The Princess arrived at Bart Benders place. She was anxious to know if the extraordinary thing he wanted to show her was her cat Shalimar. She hoped it would be!

The Princess arrived at Bart Benders place. She was anxious to know if the extraordinary thing he wanted to show her was her cat Shalimar. She hoped it would be! Holding her breath she rang the doorbell..."What is it you want me to see Bart?" "Nashira! How good of you to come! I have to show you this...I should say THESE two wonderful cats. And I think you might like what I'm planning to do!" "Bart Bender! You...devil you... This is not what I expected at all! I hoped so much to find my precious Shalimar here, but...what is this!!??" "WHAT were you thinking! This is not Shalimar! It´s one of the Cooper cats! What is he doing here Bart?" "You see...Nashira...I wished that your cat was here too! But believe it or not, these two just followed me home. I thought maybe...well I have to be honest with you...I hoped I could use these two to trade them in for that Moroccan..eh...your beautiful cat Shalimar...and I could then give you your cat back, since the Coopers still don´t seem to understand that they don´t OWN that special beauty of a cat!" "And you think this is alright then? Are you crazy! You can´t treat us and the animals like this! You should return those cats to the Coopers yourself pronto! Didn´t you know that Shalimar´s missing for weeks on end now?" "I´m leaving now. You better clean up your act Bart Bender. Cats have feelings too you know...and so do I!" Nashira turned around just to see Bart's face turn grey and fill up with sadness. As the Princess had left, Bart went upstairs to do some thinking. Was the princess right? Was he behaving really bad? All he wanted was a special cat, one who would love him and one who´d cuddle up on his lap. A special cat, one he could give his love and attention to. He was well to do...Did he really want that Moroccan cat because it was worth a lot of money? Or maybe he wanted to be nice for a change especcially to the princess, now that was a lady with some CLASS! Mao thought things were about to happen again...What would be next? This Bart Bender person was pacing around the house all morning...and finally stopped at the phone "Yes, I have to make it up to you and to the Coopers. And especcially to the Princess guys. There must be a better way to find my own special friend than go around cheating and hurting other creatures' feelings." "Nashira?...It´s Bart again. Please hear me out. I am really sorry to have upset you like that last night...uhuh...yes you´re right...It´s not too late is it? Well, could you maybe meet me at Wining and Dining later on this afternoon?" At that same time some miles away Veronique was an emotional wreck! Heartbroken that the cats were missing and feeling guilty towards the princess for not returning Spitz to her. Probably the hormones racing thru her body had something to do with her unstableness as well. *sob sob* ...Frank...*sob* WHAT are we supposed to do? "Well...Yes...Good question" Frank sighed... "it is about time we put things back in order. We can't have this last forever!" Spitz went to seek comfort with Dominic and she told him everything that had been on her mind since the day she walked into the Coopers house. "OK Spitz...I understand. I´ll talk to mom and dad. We love you all to pieces, but I really do think you should move back to princess Nashira too." "Mom...I think we have to let go of Spitz. I think she´s very homesick for her princess and very unhappy about that. She's been off beat lately...". "Also do I sense you should talk to Mister Bender. We...eh...I think he might know where Socks and Mao are." Veronique looked at her son: " Hmmm.... Why would you think that Dominic?" "OK my friends..." Dominic had gathered the animals around him once more..."I think we have to say goodbye to Spitz shortly. We must think of her feelings as well and she feels homesick for Princess Nashira." The phone rang...Frank went to get it. It was Nashira... If they could meet at Wining and Dining...she had something important to tell him and Veronique she said. Just before noon Frank went to the restaurant to meet up with the Princess. What was she going to tell him? Veronique was coming over later she said. The princess hadn't arrived yet so Frank thought he would have a coffee first. Downstairs Nashira made her entrance. "We´re happy to greet you in our Restaurant your Royal Highness, Mr. Cooper is here already. He is waiting for you upstairs." Nashira went upstairs and allthough she felt heartbroken over Shalimar she was determined to settle this cat business once and for all. "Frank?...ah, here you are...Let's sit down and talk. I think the story might interest you!" Half an hour and a dinner later... "You mean...Socks and Mao are allright then? OH! I am so happy! Can´t wait to tell Veronique they are at Bart Benders place. He´s going to be here this afternoon you say? I think Veronique is going to be thrilled and ready to face Mr. Bender!" Princess Nashira and Frank left and a couple of hours later Bart Bender walked into the Restaurant expecting to meet with the princess. He felt very nervous about having to face the Coopers. He wanted to talk the scenario over again with Nashira. She was so nice, she understood exactly what he wanted! Taking a deep breath of air he entered... He looked around but the Princess was not here. Bart decided he would wait a little longer and headed for the bar. "...you think I should return the cats too don´t you Buddy? Tell me what you think...I´ve been talking to you now for the past 45 minutes and I´d really like to know what you´re thinking." As Bart went to the mensroom, Veronique walked in "... Hmm... Frank and Nashira told me he would be here. He's not in the bar..." Downstairs she went... "Well...look at that. Here he comes. Now pull yourself together Veron..." Bart was startled for a moment to see not the princess but Veronique Cooper on his way out. "Ah...euh...Veronique Cooper? What a surprise to meet YOU here! I was expecting the Prin...well never mind...eh GOOD to see you, yes this will be fine I guess..." "But congratulations are in order...you look... very...pregnant!" "I know why you're here...Is there something you would like to tell me Mr. Bender?" Meanwhile at the Coopers place Silly Barked at Dominic "Dominic, you have to come quick! It´s Spitz...!" "WHAT happened Silly??? Are you kidding me?? SPITZ??? DAD!!!!" It seemed Spitz´s tummy didn't only hurt from the worries, she just had two beautiful kittens! AWW SPIKE...you rascal You...! One white and one black. They were just adorable! Yin and Yang, nobody EVER had thought this to be a possibility! This was a miracle! Spitz was now a mommy...who would've thought? Dominic brushed his teeth and put on his jammies while Spitz was telling her little ones everything woud be allright. "Hi ya babies! We will take care of everything now! Mom and dad will see to it that you all go there where you belong and be happy!" "I´m not really sorry that you´re leaving Spitz, but I´m sad to see my grandchildren go with you..." Smart was still holding a grudge... Her son Spike had never told her he was having a fling with her rival! "OK Smart that´ll do!" said Silly. Frank sighed with relieve, Veronique would be home soon and then hopefully the great festival of swopping pets could begin! (to be continued)
