Renovation

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Oct 27, 2008 | 3 comments

I've been looking back at the 1st apartment lot I created, namely Chantilly Row and realised it's not quite perfect. As I was still fumbling my way around Apartment Life as I was building I guess I still had much to learn. Perhaps I should have looked for an apartment building tutorial...anyone know where I can find one?!

Now being a little older and wiser, I have put right the wrongs of the past so look out for a new and improved version of Chantilly Row coming soon.

Oh Gawd! She's at it Again!

Just in case you'd thought I'd given up lot building in favour of creating rubbishy wallpapers! There's a new residential development on the way! I decided I wanted a typical modern suburban cul-de-sac in my game. Well, why settle for one house when you can have five?

Here's how it's shaping up so far:

Each home comes with it's own front and rear garden area (fully landscaped). 3 detached properties and 1 pair of semi's. There's also a children's play area/picnic area and fish pond. Reserve your viewing appointment now!

Summer Holidays are coming

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Aug 6, 2008 | 1 comments

Well not for me unfortunately but there's a new resort under construction for your lucky simmies!

Up to now I've been a bit reluctant to upload many beach lots because they can be something of a pain in the neck for downloaders. However, my simmies needed somewhere new to go and I thought some of you might enjoy it too. :)

This is still very much a work in progress so don't be expecting to see this available to download for some time, but if you don't see anything new from me for a while this is the reason why!

Almost Done and Dusted

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Jun 19, 2008 | 1 comments

I figured it was about time I put the finishing touches to Coppleston Village before it turns into Coppleston City! Now if my memory serves me correctly we have a village green, holiday cottages, village hall and an old school house. Look out for a vicarage, country home and a neighbourhood terrain for all these lots to go on coming soon. Work on 2 final lots is in progress (a cottage and village craft shop) then I'm done! Finished! End of!

However I will be open to suggestions of any particular further lots you'd like to see in this series. Just pop along to my forum thread and give me a poke!

Roof Tiles Going Cheap

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Feb 11, 2008 | 2 comments

Well free actually. I've decided to set my Maxis Roofs with White Trim free FOREVER! You'll now be able to include these in your own lots without fear of them becoming subscriber only as a result.

Happy building!

Another poll completed

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Jan 30, 2008 | 0 comments

and here are the final scores on the board:

The question I asked: What do you love about TSR?

Biggest collection of downloads on the web 67.06% (169)
FAs 38.1% (96)
SAs 34.13% (86)
Anyone can submit creations and is given a chance to shine 52.38% (132)
Kudos system 45.63% (115)
Great tutorials and game tips 41.27% (104)
Friendly forum/chatroom 30.16% (76)
TSR challenges 28.57% (72)
Other 11.9% (30)
I don't like TSR 4.37% (11)

Question: Do you subscribe?

Yes 39.29% (99)
No 57.54% (145)

The top result came as no surprise at all. When it comes to sheer volume of creations TSR just has to come out tops! It's nice to see so many people are enjoying the chance to submit their creations and share with the rest of the community although I really would have thought the kudos system would have been a little more popular.

Thanks to all those who took part and keep on simmin'!

Grate Stuff

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Nov 11, 2007 | 1 comments

I decided to try my hand at creating some semi-transparent floor tiles. My 1st attempts some time ago were something of a disaster, but if at 1st you don't succeed dose yourself up on a bucketful of coffee and try again!

Look out for these coming soon:

Oops, that didn't quite work

Author: hatshepsut | Posted Jul 26, 2006 | 1 comments

Not every house I build makes it to publication. Just to prove it here's a little taste of what's ended up on the cutting room floor.

The Good

Now on the face of it, this appears to be a very desirable residence. The reason this got scrapped is that the upstairs rooms were such a weird shape and totally unusable.

The Bad

I decided the roofline on this one just wasn't working for me, especially over the garage. Yuck!

And the Just Plain Ugly

Had I been able to pull this off with a shallower roof pitch it would have looked sensational. As it turned out...what a mess!
