Description
Steamtown was first a swampland settled early on by bold pioneers who sought to make a living by fishing in the deep streams and hunting in the thick woods. The quiet, struggling community passed through time in obscurity before the colourful C. Family arrived with their surveyors, seeing the area as a prime spot for a railway line. In almost the blink of an eye the small community was transformed. People flocked to the area, boarding and getting off at the many stops along the way on the wildly popular luxury line of trains, and Steamtown soon flourished. Wealth poured in, and with business at an alltime high shops and stores opened, lavish townhouses replaced mean log cabins, the waterways became Steamtown Canal, over which the C. Train Express railway runs. Don't be late, or you'll miss your train!
Hope everyone likes this FURNISHED version! But be warned: it's loaded! I couldn't even finish furnising it--I had stuffed it so much and my low-end laptop started belching at me after a while, so I had to stop. I'm a clutterbug--what can I say!? ^-^

This residential lot includes 2 'homes', the Diamond Townhouse, and the Steamtown Railway Station.
The Diamond Townhouse is 3 storeys high, and includes a foyer, living area (fondly called by the mistress of the house the Egg Room), an industrial eat-in-kithen, bathroom, garage and work area on the first floor. The second floor has many rooms that can be used however, including the Emerald Hall and Emerald Study, named after the aforementioned mistrees of the house, Emerald Diamonte. There is enough room on the third floor for a sort of master bed and bathroom as well.
The Railway Station is designed like an actual vintage-style train station, with a check-in hall, bathroom, and 'office space' and staff kitchen on the first floor. The second floor is the 'station platform' sitting area. The third and fourth floors are the actual 'resident' sections, with a living and bathing room, open hall space converted into a small study, and a bedroom.
I made this lot soon after starting my Cogs and Gears steampunk lot, and while Cogs and Gears was 100% steampunk I wanted a lot that could nudge the line between steam and vintage a bit more--Victorian Era with a Steampunk twist, adding subtle and not-so-subtle elements to suit all kinds of playing styles. This lot saw me through a looooot of trouble, and I almost lost it twice--once when my computer crashed in early January and everything was uninstalled from my game, and once in late February/early March when I installed something somehow and it jacked up my save files and set me back from finishing what I had not saved to my desktop already. Very very aggravating start to 2012 it has been for me--this lot should have been up in January, and I am VERY relieved to finally have it up and ready for everyone--and my friend SimonettaC especially, who is my Steampunk Muse.

it will take me forever to download the other cc content, why won't it work, if u don't download the other cc. Excellent job though, u spent a lot of time on this

@Aliya2222, it won't work without the CC I linked to, because that CC (the train set and omsp) are in Package file format, and Package files aren't read by the Launcher when you install stuff, only sims3packs.
So the Launcher can't install the lot unless you put the Package files I linked to in your game FIRST, so the Launcher doesn't have to kill itself trying to figure out what's going on with the mysterious files its reading (the package files). I wish there was a way around the Launcher, or that I could find similar sims3pack CC so I wouldn't have to use Package files, but unortunately that's not the case so far.
But thanks for liking the look of the lot, in any event! ^-^ Yes, it was a big creation, one of my biggest, and Steamtown Railway took around 4 or 5 monts to complete--no lie.
