Blanton Hallway - Complete

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Oct 5, 2009

Hi everyone

Update to my last post, I have the entire set finished! It contains the sideboard (really a desk), picture frames, table plant, hanging plant, bench, wicker basket (end table), and coat rack. The coat rack is from my old Hallway Set from TS2, some of you may remember it. In this version, however, the top shelf is not usable. The bottom shelf of the sideboard is not usable either. I may update these items with extra slots once we have that capability.

Special "feature" of this set is the plants - the color of the flowers on the hanging plant and table plant can actually be changed ingame with the design tool, therefore they don't have to be white if you don't want them to. (Unlike any of the EA plants!)

Just a quick preview of my newest set, Blanton Hallway. I've noticed there isn't much clutter/deco items availble in TS3, so this mainly decorative set aims to help solve that!

So far - the table, picture frames, and plant are the only part of the set - everything else in the screenie is EA-made.

Veral Dining Room Remake.

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Sep 26, 2009 | 2 comments

Hi all! Some of you may remember/recognize my Veral Dining Room from TS2:

Well, the method I used to make the shadows and details in this set for TS2 is also the same method that is now used for TS3. Because of that, I've decided to go ahead and convert it forward to TS3 (with some slight changes and improvements!)

Here is what I have done so far (table, chairs, and sideboard). As development on Workshop comes along and we have more options, I will be adding onto this set to make it more complete.

Error with Benchwright Orchid

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Sep 22, 2009

It has been pointed out to me that currently, my Benchwright Orchid will overwrite the original EA orchid vase. I am aware of this and will be releasing an updated version that is stand-alone soon. If you want the original EA orchide back in the mean time, simply deleting mine will allow the original to show up again

Small update from my last post - I now have a loveseat and sofa to go with the tables. The arms, cushions, and legs are all recolorable seperately. I'm also making this set for TS2 as I finish the meshes for TS3!

Benchwright Coffee table

Just a quick update - a new mesh that I've made especially for TS3 (that will soon have an entire living room set to match).

Depending on how much time I have, I may convert the set back to TS2 as well once I'm finished with it!

Sims 3

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Aug 31, 2009 | 0 comments

Hi all! I've scarecly been around for the tail-end of TS2 - but I'm coming back around for TS3. I've been working in the Workshop Beta yesterday and most of today, although I haven't done much yet (since it's not fully functional, I'm not going to start making new sets and stuff if they won't work!) I've been primarily finding things that don't work yet and breaking the things that do work.

So far, I've made a new mesh and modified an EA mesh (as seen here). Table is new, orchid is modified from EA.

Savannah Living Room Updates

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Jul 8, 2009

Hi everyone!

In my apparently non-existant all-knowing genious, I uploaded my Savannah Living Room not knowing that it would completely bork upon being recolored. Several parts were not recolorable, and others randomly pulled recolors out of the air that didn't belong. I have since then updated everything that was broken and made a test recolor, and everything SEEMS to be in working order. I've uploaded the updated files:

  • End Table
  • Living Chair
  • Flower Vase

If you have already downloaded the set, these are the only files that you SHOULD need to redownload. If you have made any recolors of the old files, you will only need to remake the end table recolor - everything else should still pick up older recolors.

If anyone finds any more issues, please let me know :)

More Hanover Kitchen recolors

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Aug 13, 2008 | 0 comments

As requested in a comment on my Hanover Kitchen Recolors, I've gone ahead and made some more recolors with brass handles. The wood tones are much like the existing recolors, with slight variations so the shelves (which don't have any hardware on them) won't appear to have duplicate recolors. I have a slightly brighter white, cherry, a dark cherry-ish mahogany, bleached oak, and a "regular" colored oak. I don't have pictures yet since my laptop graphics are too scary to show, but I'll be testing them on my desktop later and will have some pictures soon

Edit: Pictures!

I do have some more, but you'll have to wait until I upload them to see!

Hanover Kitchen and recolors

Author: sim_man123 | Posted Aug 10, 2008 | 0 comments

Currently set for publishing tomorrow is my Hanover Kitchen mesh set. It contains 9 items - counters, shelves, etc. No appliances though, I think there are enough maxis ones to match

Ive also got several recolors for the counter tops as well as the rest of the wood in the set. All wood tones and all countertops are mix 'n match.

I have a few more in the works as well
