Hallway Set

At the request of sww, I've been working on a set to help clutter up hallways (cleverly named by me as "Hallway Set".) I have 5 meshes done so far - a decorative coat rack (with a shelf usable by two items), a mirror (with another shelf that you can put one item on), a small lamp, a small plant, and an end table (that you can put three things on)...and in addition each item has about 7 recolors (I'm too lazy to go count the exact amount :P). I'll be uploading it in 5 parts: one mesh and all of its recolors per set, and then hopefully I'll get them all into one superset eventually.

It is NOT something that I can repair, fix, or have control of in any way. I am perfectly aware that several of my sets aren't working, but please, you do not have to report the items, leave comments, or PM me asking me why its not working and when I will fix it. There is nothing I can do about it, just periodically try to redownload the item(s) in question and hopefully it will work eventually.

"Shelby Hair" set problems

I've had several people today tell me that my Shelby Hair set has missing zips for the entire set as well as some of the recolors, so I've temporarily withdrew it until I can figure out why it's not working and hopefully get it fixed. It should be published again sometime in the next couple of days

ETA: I've reuploaded all the files, and I think it should be fixed now. It will be republished tomorrow.

ETA Again: It's published now and it looks like everything is working

Custom Animations!

Thanks to Echo's brilliance and some well written tutorials, I'm finally getting the hang of making completely custom object animations. Right now I have a lot of ideas for "environmental ambiance", subtle things that add detail to the game. Swaying trees, grass that billows back and forth, signs and flags that swing back and forth.

I started with the idea of a maple tree that sways in the breeze, but that didn't go quite as expected... so instead I've put that off a bit and am now working on garden signs that sway back and forth.

Custom Poses!

Well, not quite animations, so far I've only gotten as far as static poses. But they are custom! :D I'm still working on some technical things about getting actual animations into the game correctly. I've also written a tutorial on it that should be published tomorrow, for those who are daring enough to try themselves :P. At any rate though, here are some of the poses that I have:

Special Effects

I've started a new set for all you storytellers that will be nothing but special effects for your screen shots. So far I have two meshes done, a full body effect and an orb effect, which share several recolors. I also plan on adding a few environmental effects, things like sun rays and fog. Depending how caught up in it I get, I might even try to custom poses to go along with the effects :P

A few samples of what I have so far:

It's fairly easy to use: The actual effect is found under Decorative > Sculptures, and is considered an object, so you have to use the "moveobjects on" cheat to place it right. So far I've found that you need to place the effect first, then the sim inside it. If you do it the other way, the effect snaps into the sims hand. Also, because its an object, it can snap into slots on tables and shelves. So for example, you have a sim in a jumping pose up in the air, you can use Windkeepers Hidden Shelves to move the effect into the air.
Set originally inspired by aikea_guinea's constant creativeness in her photo shoots

South Shore Dresser Problem - FIXED

If you've already downloaded the file, don't worry, it's not going to break your game or anything. I'll have it fixed shortly and upload the new file :)

To start with I decided to make fried shrimp. It wont be done for a few days... I still have to work out my sim preparing shrimp then magically getting a pork chop on the stove..

The tutorial follows up my previous straight hair texture tutorial, so its recommended that you do that one first. (Unless you already know how to make straight hair) It's fairly basic, and you shouldn't have too much trouble with it
