More, more, more. We basically played all day long today, only breaking for meals. We got to sit in for a sound session with Nikki, one of the girls who is a Simlish Voice in the game. It was perfect. Absolutely like the game. That laugh of the little girls...it's her. No changes whatsoever. It was so creepy...talking to a real sim, you know.
Anywho, some of you had questions that I had to get back to you on...and here are the answers. Oh, and if there are anymore questions...feel free to leave them in a comment. I have a few more days to get answers for you. Please take note that we are 'testing the game' it's not complete yet, and there are many bugs and many things that need to be changed. So, what I blog is what is current for the day and may change tomorrow.
Playing the Second Day Notes
~There are cinemas, bistros, museums, etc that your sim can visit. You can work in these buildings doing a job pretaining to the building. Chef to Bistro. Athelete to Stadium.
~The plants in Buy Mode, for me, are disappointing. I mean, really. But, we must understand that is a base game. We've all been spoiled with EP's and SP's, and just give EA time to get some EP's and SP's ready for Sims 3. We'll soon have a decent supply of plants for interior use. On a lighter side, the Build Mode plants are just awesome. There is such a huge selection, and the pond plants, too!
~I made a mistake yesterday when I said there were 6 Traits that you could choose in CAS. There are only 5. Sorry!
~You cannot swim in the ocean, but you can fish in it. And not every sim has the necessary skills needed to fish.
~As far as I cared to travel, my sim would walk through the hills and on the outskirts of town. I am sure there's a limit to how far you can go, but I didn't find it.
~The TV was also disappointing for me, but I think that I am also used to my Free Time Expansion for Sims 2. I have to keep reminding myself this is only a 'base' game. There are only 4 channels: Sports, Kids, Action, and Romance. You can however work out Strength or Cardio, instead of only one type of work out.
~Lots are already in place. You can move them and rotate them, but it's my understanding that you can't add 'new'. I will have to double check that, but I think that's the way I understood it.
~Build Mode plants are very nice. There are a few sizes for each tree type, and anytime you place a shrub it is automatically a different size. You cannot change this.
~In the Catalogs, you can now select an item, and the description pops up. You can then zoom in or out on the object to get a better view. I LOVE THIS!
~The Maximum width of a set of stairs is 8 tiles! They are HUGE!
~Each floor tile and wall can be edited with the color wheel and texture library for limitless possibilities.
~Fences rise with terrains, so you can have that hillside mansion with a fence that flows with the hills.
~If you hover your mouse over a plate of food, it will tell you how good of quality it is and what it is.
~Moving is interesting. You can choose to move to a new lot, and you can either sell your furniture or pack it. If you pack it, the furniture leaves the house with you. If you sell it, it stays with the house just as it was when you left it.
~The mailbox and trash can are recolorable with the Create-A-Style. Your mailbox can finally match the house.
~Police and burglars still fight, and the burglar alarm still deafened me.
~There are now Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Night Skies. They are awesome. The Sun and Moon move as well.
~Tombstones now show the cause of death. You can engrave an epitaph, too.
~When walking around town, you can choose to walk or run.
~The ghosts are still colored according to death. And they look AWESOME.
~Infants are wrapped in blankets instead of only wearing diapers.
~You can see the infants moodlets and motives bars.
~Sims will gain traits at birthdays. If you do a fine job of raising them or living their lives, you can 'choose' their new trait. This makes me believe that traits on birthdays are assigned randomly according to their behavior and the way they were raised.
~You can take pictures with your Cell Phone to hang on your wall or sit on your tables.
~You can follow the children to school.
~You can even gain traits at school depending on your behavior.
~You can get a job using the paper, internet, or physically going to the workplace of choice.
~There is School Detention for children who fall asleep in class or cheat on schoolwork.
~Kids/Teens now need their guardians permission to bring home a friend from school. AWESOME!
~You can hire Magicians for parties.
~Instead of Nightmare Nanny, you now have a babysitter...who looks like a YA.
~You can literally interact with almost anything in the game.
~Moodlets sway your Sims mood in either direction. Just because all of your motives a green, does not mean you'll be in a great mood.
~Bad Mood sims are less likely to listen to your commands.
~There are Part-Time and Full-Time jobs. The Part-Time jobs will not interfere with High School hours.
~Pregnant Mommy's get a few days off paid from work. New Daddy's get a few days off after the baby is born as well, but it didn't not say if the Daddy's get paid.
~Your Sim can read Pregnancy Books while Pregnant to help ensure a happy healthy pregnancy and happy healthy good-traited baby.
~Be sure to befriend your boss!
~Sims can tinker with electronics and appliances, they can even upgrade them. But, be careful for beaking and that electric shock.
~Toddlers are not just eat and sleep. They are ambitious.
~If you don't like how your sim has turned out, you can buy a Mid-Life Crisis to redo their personality completely if you have enough Lifetime Happiness Points.
~If a business is closed, your sim can look in the windows of the building.
~When my sim opened her fridge, you could see the cold air coming out.
~Some actions have actual times you can set for how long the last.
~Some actions also will tell you what the time will be when the sim is 'fully complete' with the action. Sleeping, for instance.
~Bills come every morning. Or they are supposed too...lol. Mine is buggy right now. My Postman never comes, but the Repoman arrives every evening to take stuff...lol.
~My sim brushed her teeth and aquired a good Moodlet for 'minty breath'.
~While on the job, you have options as to what kind of performance you want to give: Business as Usual, Work Hard, Take it Easy, Meet Coworkers, Hang Out with Coworkers, Suck Up to Boss, or Practice a Skill. You can gain skills while working.
~You can earn raises without promotions based on Job Performance.
~You can tour community buildings alone or with a companion. You can also take various classes to gain skills at community buildings.
~New Food Dishes.
~I noticed that my sim could enter the library, so perhaps 'some' community buildings can be entered?
~Not every bookshelf as the same books. You must browse if you're assigned to read a particular one by your boss or other various opportunity.
~My sim ate out alone one night. I got a pop up saying she was unhappy with her food, and did I want to complain or continue eating it. I chose complain and recieved 500 Simoleons from the chef for my honesty. So, I will assume that chance cards are still available at random.
~You can change the ringtone on your cell phone.
~The Maid is no longer a French Maid. The first time she came, she was a normal dressed gal. The second time...it was a bald man wearing only cargo shorts. I am not sure if that is a bug or not. I was laughing too hard to bring it up. lol
~Leftovers are still possible, and food dishes can be 'specialized'.
~Sims can be toothpick skinny to grossely obese. They get fat on their necks and cheeks, too.

That's all I have today. I hope that you all are getting more excited for February 20th! And please, if you have questions...feel free to ask them.
I've also noticed my blog all over the internet. I don't mind this, but please...just link back so that those with questions can ask them and I can try to get answers. Thanks.

I'm loving your blog updates! So full of info!!
Anyway, I have one question. I noticed in this blog you mentioned a couple of things about pregnancy and babies (and thank goodness they aren't only in diapers anymore), but did you actually get to play a pregnant sim or were your questions just answered by the creators? And do you know how the whole going to the hospital to give birth goes? Thanks in advance for anything you can answer!
Thank you soooo much for this wonderful information. You really rock! Here are my questions.
1. Will pregnant moms be able to wear normal clothing?
2. If the sim is a single mom can the baby be named after the dad?
3. Will the spouse know if a sim child is not their own?
4. What new interactions are there for teens
5. What interactions are there for babies?
6. Is the blanket white or can it be different colors?
7. Can the dad go to the hospital with the mom or other relatives?
8. Can you have a funeral party?
9.Will there be aliens?
10. Thank you!
Your blogs are awesome!!! They seem to be more detailed than the other ones floating around. Thank you so much!!!
I do have a question however that I hope you will be able to get answered. Its pretty simple really. I just want to know, when in Create A Sim, if you can link two sims of the same age to be related other then through marriage. Like can I make two young adult sims, 1 male and 1 female and have them be brother and sister? Can I make an Adult sim be a parent of a Young Adult sim? Same also for Elder sim to be parent of Adult sim and or Grandparent of Young Adult sim. Basically I am wondering if we can pre-build family relationships prior to gameplay.
I would really really appreciate if you could try and check on that. I know your getting information overload and bombarded with questions and I think your doing an fantastic job, its very kind of you. Thanks so much!!! Well I hope you continue to have a blast over there! Maybe they will give you guys a free copy of the game when it comes out.
Can you please write full list of traits now if know or later after playing game i relly want know? Some traits were removed so I do not know final list.
Are family trees still there are they more complex?
Thank you so much for all the information, it is so wonderful of you taking the time to tell us so much, I am so happy that we can turn off the aging completely and we can also work with the 'free will', I really need to control my sims so much, so this is great news to me
Thank you again for sharing all the news with us, it must be awesome to be there, enjoy it and take lots of care.
Look forward to hearing more soon.

Thanks for all the info, this really does sound like a great game and can't wait to get my hands on it, look forward to reading your next installment..Andrea
Hey
I hope you have a great time there
I have only two questions...
How's the pregnacy like and hows the funeral like
Thank you and enjoy your time there
Thank you ever so much for the day two report, and yes, I'm mega excited!

I have two questions if you don't mind me asking?
~Lots are already in place. You can move them and rotate them, but it's my understanding that you can't add 'new'. I will have to double check that, but I think that's the way I understood it.
1.) I'm a bit thick (
) , does this mean we won't be able to build any new buildings?
2.) This has probibly been asked loads and answered loads already but do sims still have daily aspirations, or do these 'moodlets' replace them? (I hope so, I hate daily aspirations!)
Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance if you can answer them.
Thanks for another great entry.
Were you able to see if there are more objects for the family, mainly children and toddlers, than in the sims 2 base game?
Oh and please ask about the underwear section!
Is there one or they removed it??
This info is great! Like many other people I have some questions too :p
1. If I feel like changing families the transition is instant, right?
2. Will the difficulty and pay rate of jobs adjust depending on how long you want the lifespan of your sims to be?
3. Is there a limit to how many people can hold certain job positions? For example, can there only be one "leader of the free world"?
You are so sweet for taking the time to give such detailed information. I do have one question:
Are you having fun?
By the way, I have been wondering how lots would work in an open world and your post seems to answer that. I was trying to figure out how imported lots affect the surrounding landscape? I wondered what would happen if you built a house on a hill, then someone imported it to their game and plopped it on a flat area. I couldn't figure out how this would work. But if lots are already set in place, as you described, then that seems to make sense.
I seriously want to thank you for all that you have posted. I was skeptical about how much information the guests would give, and I am so excited after reading your blog. I like one of your other readers, was planning on waiting for the game, but after reading this I am too excited. I am definately going to pre-order the game today or tomorrow, so I can have it when it comes out.
I don't really have any questions , except it would be nice to know how same sex relationships work, in reguards to marriage/unions and adoption or other forms of having children.
Thank you once again, I look forward to reading the blogs for the remaining days.
Hi there, I have a few of questions to ask:
1) When giving commands to your sims, in The Sims 2 the command icon was shown in the top left hand corner is this still the same in The Sims 3
2) Will there be different types of weather in the game i.e. Rain, Snow, Thunderstorms etc.
3) When a sim dies, can you hold a funeral for them?
4) Are marriage ceremonies the same as The Sims 2 (Are they held on residential lots or churches?)
Thanks for the info!! Can't wait until the 20th!! Roll on February!!
Magnarother
I wonder about relationships. I am sick of being slapped by someone who only has a crush on me if my sim is caught kissing someone else. What IS cheating in TS3? Also how does jealousy happen? Like does the cheating sim still has to be on the same lot in order to get caught, or the one being cheated on have to actually see their spouse or significant other cheat, like be in the same room?
I'd like to ask the developers a question, if you can fit it in: Do you plan to release TS3 on Steam? A lot of SecuROMaphobic people would like to know if they could play, too
. Also, if so, will they release that same day, or at a later date? Also, thanks for the info!

Great blog, you really have a great eye for details. Two question if you can answer them. 1) In teh CAS can you adjust the langth of clothing, such as make hem line longer or open the zipper on the jackets? 2) Does it appear to have lots of room in the N-hood for future Eps'?
Hi, I just have one question. When sims age up, are they assigned random clothing like in The Sims 2, or are we able to pick their clothing?
Thank you so much!
I hope you have a great time at creator's camp.
thanks for all the information on the game =D haha its awsome about on all that they put on the game and its a bse game, but yeah here are my questions.
1) are you able to just walk right off there lot if you pressed "Go Here" on a sidewalk down the street and they go there and you can cancell it and just make them move it anywhere they want throughout the whole neighboorhood or is it where if u want to walk around u have to press walk around neighboorhood and u will have to watch them and not controll anything untill u visit a lot
2) are teens able to sneak out like sims 2?
3)do the babysitters take care of there own needs also unlike the nanny in sims 2?
4)do u know if the creators told you if they will make it where u can swim in the ocean in a later ep?
5)when the mother is pregnant you said it grows everyday does it pop up and goes bigger everyday like sims 2 did or will it just be like when sims get fat in sims3 and they get fat and u cant tell that they gained more?
6)i know you can only play with one family but if you wanted to start a new family and start over are you able to just quit that family and go to cas and make a new family?
7)will teen sims be able to woohoo and have teenage pregnancy?
when will you answer these questions i want to know
oh and all the information was VERY usefull i get more excited everyday becuz i know that the sims3 is on it's way very soon
