I'm thinking, with the new shelving, I might try making full Room Sets as I have never done that before? I've already made a matching desk for the first shelving units and am tinkering with some CD clutter to put on them.

So for a study I will need to make a chair, bookcase, wall art, and lighting for sure. Then if this goes well maybe I'll do the same for the other two shelving units I had planned, only for dining and living rooms.

Change of plans maybe? They sit on top of the half wall and also fit nicely between the room transitions.

Okay I'm off to make the recolors, previews, and hopefully upload later today, ciao!

I've always wanted a half wall without any railing or decoration on the top, just plain and flat. And after much raising and lowering I got it sitting right.

So yes, you are looking at the half wall in this capture, lol. The mesh has a white top. I will be making black and grey for sure as well.
<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_8113.jpg" />

Why lookie here! It looks quite nice with a white Room Divider placed at the end!
<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_8114.jpg" />

I have also made a skin to place at the end of half walls to give it a finished look.
<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_8115.jpg" />

I think you will be able to come up with some fun room schemes depending on how you place these items together.

It's just that when I put time and effort into building a lot I want it to be FREAKIN' PERFECT! lol

So my first pet peeve was the floor edges. Fixed. Done. Next thing than kinda always bugged me was the transition from one wallpaper to the next, especially if they have a pattern.

It just doesn't look <em>finished</em> to me. Icky boo!

So I am making some Room Transitions. Another really simple object that gives a finishing touch to open-plan lots.
<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_7832.jpg" />
Much better. Yay! lol

Looks good on the outside too for using different siding.
<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_7833.jpg" />

Teh Chunky Floor Edger

I've been back at the drawing board with the floor edge skins, working it out to make them 3d and also able to turn corners nicely. The first one, which is Victorian inspired, I think turned out nicely.

<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_7433.jpg" />

I've also finished meshing and making one texture for a basic rectangular one. Just need to make more textures, probably wood and metal looking ones.

<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_7434.jpg" />

After cloning a variety of objects, I have found that using curtains as the base to clone from works much better than a sculpture like I did before. One because Sims can already walk through them (so I don't have to mess with the BHAV) and two because when you place one curtain, a second automatically comes up for placement (so you don't have to go back and click the icon again and again). Oh and you can see the object in the preview icon, which I think is a major bonus. ;-)

I also have several gothic doors half finished that fit in with the wallpapers I made. Yes, I am very matchy-matchy. And I haven't scaped the Gargoyle project, it has just turned out to be a rather massive puzzle project to get it right for UV mapping.

A rather important setting in the shadow texture was incorrect and so causing a big ugly black blocky thing on walls and the floor.

This has been corrected now and I'm so sorry for making such a silly mistake! I shall be more diligent in the future with checking things before uploading.

A big Thank You to MsBarrows for pointing out the mistake I made with the shadow for the pallet bed!
Cyan Fence

What started out as a simple idea for a break from the Gargoyle project (which keeps growning and gaining parts everytime I look at it, lol) has turned into a big idea with 3 fences and floor-edge skins and caps and... yeah. But I'm glad it did because I think it has turned out quite nicely.

<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_6821.jpg" />

The fencing is positioned off-center so that it fits fully under the flooring above. I made left and right fencing so that it looks better where it sinks into walls.

Normally you would have the exposed floor edge showing in the image above, where the floor is above the fence. This always happens in this case and with decks on second floors, etc. Kinda always irritated me. So I am making a very simple 'skin' that can be placed over those edges to hide them and make your house look more 'finished'.

The fencing is done, so once I've tweaked the floor edge skin for the billionth time to get the size right I will be able to submit these items.

What started out as a simple idea for a break from the Gargoyle project (which keeps growning and gaining parts everytime I look at it, lol) has turned into a big idea with 3 fences and floor-edge skins and caps and... yeah. The closest to being ready for submission is a magazine rack that fits on the front of counts. The mesh package is complete, I just want to do some recolors to make a set.
<img src="http://isc.thesimsresource.com/images/misc/blogImages_6598.jpg" />

One thing I've always wanted is Gargoyles to put on the corners of my old buildings. But not just sitting on top of a corner, actually coming out of it properly at an angle. So far I've figured out how best to do that and have roughed out the idea. Now I have to work on the mesh and get it looking the way I want.

The Long Winter Past

There were so many power outages I can now safely say that I can indeed survive without electricity. It's boring as all heck, but can be done.

And finally I can get back to creating!

This first item I was actually inspired to make after seeing some captures msbarrows made of a gas station/convenience store with a retro feel to it that she had made. It was a really cool building and set, but she didn't appear to have anything to dress up the counter. And so I got the idea to make this candy rack, filled with classic 50's and 60's candy bars.
