So now my TSR exploits are put to the back burner (pleh!) as I can't really try everything out properly which makes me grumpy, but hopefully we'll find a solution soon.  Again, we'll keep you posted ;)

Stereos:  Every time my travleing sim returns home , his stereo is very loud.  I enjoy the music, just at a lower volume, so I usually have my stereos set on low.  I can now change the stereo to medium, and it get's quieter.....then adjust to low volume and it's fine until he comes home again.

Regfrigerators:  Having the same problem as everyone else.  There's now absolutely no reason for my single sim to serve a group meal, since it will be spoiled by the next morning.  Aggravating!

Cars:  I am currently taking my sim to China just as soon as he can recover from his last trip.  Almost to the final visa level, I think he's on his 5th trip, hopefully he will be able to buy a home on his next trip.  He had a car during his first 3 trips, but didn't take the car with him.  It sure does take a while to travel from locations on foot and bicycle.  Then he got an adventure which required him to go to France.  Before he left, he got a new car (not sure if that matters, but it's either that or a patch made them able to take cars on trips).  He took his new car to France and that made traveling so much faster.  Also I believe I'm addicted to the moodlet from new car smell.........I use money cheats anyway and I just seem to always have to have a car that is very fast and gives that moodlet.  :)  Luckily, he took the car on his next trip to China....made traveling so much faster!

I am mostly concentrating on completing the China adventures, but did enjoy the short trip to France.  I love tomb exploring, but it does seem like it takes a while to get to that point.  After Tom returned from France, I thought I was going to finally get to explore the Temple of the Dragon, but no......I have to reach martial arts level 10 first.  Since Tom's at level 7, that is going to take up most of this 8 day vacation.  Oh well, he is doing martial arts until he gets fatiqued, then excavating anywhere I can find a place to excavate.  :)

my feeling would be.. that if you want to use package files in WA ..and you have experienced Any Corrupted files in your game.. caused by the latest patch or patches..After you toss those corrupted files..Assume that your Resource.cfg file IS Corrupted as well..and toss it too ..then download a new one..place the new one in Program Files/EA/Sims3/WA..NOT the Base Game Folder..the New WA Folder!!

the d3dx9_31.dll file needs to be moved from the base game/bin file...to the WA game/bin file..

all CC needs to be moved to its appropriate place in the WA file..Program Files/EA/SIMS 3/WA/Mods Folder..and Yes you Can...Absolutely You Can have Package Files in your game it just Needs to be dealt with properly...

And..the  resource.cfg file must Also be moved..Program Files/EA/Sims 3/WA

you might get away with not moving these files Before you go on a vacation...but..once you go on a vacation and then return..there will be issues..issues is a nice word for Troubles...

if you installl Package Files with Helper Monkey..at present they will go into the base game folder..so you would have to move them to the mod folder in the WA sims 3...so best not to use it anymore...

Many Hacks or Mods Must be updated to be compatible with the new patch...but as far as i know..without patching..and only adding WA..a hack or mod should work..

LemonCandy from MTS has items Not Compatible with WA..The talented creations from VitaSims are also Not Compatible with WA..Some items from Damned Citizen and Unfortunately Some Items from Dresden..although so far have heard no negatives on Dresden paintings...some of the items at Custom Sims3 but they are all being checked at this very moment...some items from Yogi-Tea MTS...no matter what you do with these particular package files.. they will Only mess up your game..biggest issue..turning lots blue or black..even in Egypt ..China..France..

Some artists creations will slow gameplay..such as cars from Fresh Prince and CC from Stylist Sims..how Much it will slow game play Varies...

if you feel like going to the Trouble to make your game run fastest possible with All your Beloved CC...i have read that TSR WORKSHOP WILL CONVERT MOST Package Files to Sim3 files...

DO THIS..

Open TSR Workshop > Create new project > import package > new import >find the file>
import > next > next > ok >
(new screen)
file > export > tosims3pack

i tried it with some mango sims objects..did Not work..then i tried it with some club crimson objects..it Did Work!! But on a Happy Note about Mango Sims..the package files are working fine with WA If they are Installed properly before going on vacation...

"I'm actually a TS2 fan, but the other day I heard a rumor about a patch that has destroyed the whole TS3 game for a lot of people, and no real fix has yet been released. So I decided to try this out since TS3 is still on my computer with the 1.4 patch.

First I tried the game again with the 1.4 patch and just built myself a house and moved in a family. I played for an hour or so, everything was working well except for a bug with the sound effects, and then I went back out to update to the latest patches. I must add that my game is completely clean with no addons nor any expansion packs. So I ended up with a weird patch called 1.7/2.2!

Here's the results!

I was able to get into the game, BUT I noticed some issues:

It takes WAY longer to load the game and family!
The music stops halfway into the last loading screen!
When I get in, the graphics is all messed up. I see halos around bright objects and it looks like a general decrease in the visual experience!
The game lags and chops when I move around, this did not happen before! I'm plaing it on a pretty high-end system btw!
Two of my sims, two teen girls, lost their lifetime wishes!
And I see some other general glitches and bugs that have been mentioned already!

I would not had played any further when things look this bad, if I'd been playing TS3 for a long time and built families/towns! The best thing you can do is not to try to fix this problem yourself! Just get carefully out of the game and wait until a fix comes! I really emphasize with those of you who are experiencing big problems!'

and...another person who has no CC or mods...after the patch to fix the save issue...

1.7.9. patch rendered my game unplayable. When it switches from the last loading scene to the actual family lot, the loading scene music does not stop playing. It drowns out all the other sounds on the lot. The game also runs super-slow.

I tried switching to Buy Mode, Build Mode, and Edit Town, but that darn loading scene music keeps playing.

Not sure what to do, short of completely uninstalling, reinstalling, and NOT downloading that patch.

I have NO custom content, and had NOT played with any of the new stuff in 1.6 (like the basement tool).

My friends..this first simmer just had the base game..never really played it with any CC..never put anything into the game..it was just there on their computer..i think it is possible that gamers are having issues..and artists and builders are not..it makes sense to me..artists and builders arent really Using the game..gamers Are...sorry if i am becoming annoying..but i want the upgrade goodies to work for everyone..and right now i am having so much fun playing with my game..no way i want to destroy my fun!!! at Christmas i get my WA..i hope things are okay by then..but if not i will install as freemouse did..just the EP without the patch..XXOOXXOO
