Downloading the Wizard Manager

The Wizard on PC
This Wizard requires the .NET Framework v2.0 to run on your PC. You may already have this installed but if not, the Installer will arrange it for you.

Challenge Wizard

The Challenge Wizard is the tool that checks your game files when playing TSR Challenges. The Introduction to Challenges page explains the process of accepting and playing Challenges in detail. Please read that first.

Once you have accepted Challenges, install and run the TSR Wizard Manager (details on how to do this are below) and click on the Challenge Wizard button.

From your Windows Start button, go to TSR Utilities and run the Wizard Manager. From the menu, click on the Challenge Wizard Plug-In to begin. You will need to log in using your normal TSR login details.

The very first time you run the Wizard, and after any significant changes to your game (like installing a new Expansion Pack) it will need to cache your Sims 2 Neighborhood files, which can take a minute or two depending on your system and the size of your game. Future loads will be much quicker though.

Once the Challenge Wizard has loaded you will see all of the Challenges you have accepted from the Challenges List. You can click on these Challenges to get their details and to see which objectives you have completed so far (their backgrounds will have changed from red to green).

If you have accepted a Challenge but not yet played the Sim in your game, then the Challenge will be greyed out and you will not be able to click on it. When a Challenge has been completed it will drop down to your Completed Challenges list, and will be dated.

You can reject challenges from within the Wizard by choosing to view its details and clicking the Cancel Challenge button. You can accept them again any time you choose from the Challenges List.

Important: The 'Target Sim' is always identified for the Challenge. It is important that you do not change the name of the Sim either manually or by in game marriage. The Challenge Wizard is looking for this Sim, so changing the name will make your Challenge appear unplayed.

Note #1: The Challenge Wizard is a "read only" application and cannot change your game files in any way. It is compatible with any combination of Expansion Packs installed and only looks at your Neighborhood files. You can play Challenge Sims in any of your 'hoods and the Wizard will find them!

Note #2: The TSR Challenge Wizard will not load with SimPe or The Sims 2 running, as they all need access to the same game files (you will receive an 'Unhandled exception error' if you try).

The TSR Wizard Manager

The TSR Wizard Manager is an application that you can download and install into Windows. This program will then allow you to use the automated features that The Sims Resource has to offer for playing Challenges and submitting content to the site.

Updates will be made available each time you run the Wizard Manager if yours is out of date. The latest version will always be available for download at the bottom of this page. More plug-ins and applications will also be added as we develop them.
