Patch for Apartment Life released

There's finally a patch out for Apartment Life. Among the fixes are ones for the mailbox so you can retrieve all those love letters, maxing out physiology knowledge no longer makes gaining all other skills much easier (boo hiss!), the Butler will no longer leave the lot with a baby and cars placed on unoccupied apartment lots now remain when a Sim moves in.

Good news for gardeners and builders

EA have confirmed what has been rumoured for a while. The next Stuff Pack will be aimed at builders and is going to be Mansions and Gardens Stuff.

Design impressive estates and meticulous gardens for your Sims with three all-new architectural styles. With a host of new architectural and landscaping items to choose from, your Sims mansions will look more stunning than ever.

There's a brief teaser for the pack on the front page of the official Sims 2 website and four screenshots.

Apartment building tutorial on the official site

Struggling to make apartments with your latest EP? Maxis have released a walk through tutorial explaining how to go about making those multi-occupancy lots a bit easier.

You can find the tutorial, which is a pdf and will need Adobe Acrobat to read it, from here.

Now that Apartment Life is out the EA site is up and running with plenty of information about the eighth EP for Sims 2. There's information about the EP itself and there's a series of comics which introduce some of the new features and furniture for the game.

The Sims 3 Collector's Edition

As you all probably noticed the announcement date for Sims 3 has been released. Also published are details of what's shaping up to be a rather nice Collector's Edition.

The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition will include the full game along with additional collectable The Sims merchandise and a bonus in-game Italian-Style Sports Car unavailable elsewhere. There will be a limited release of Collector's Editions worldwide.

It will include: * The Sims 3 Game for PC * The Sims Plumbob USB Drive with matching Green Carabiner * Exclusive In-Game Italian-Style Sports Car * Tips and hints guide * The Sims 3 Plumbob Stickers

Apartment Life chat

Recently EA held a chat session about Apartment Life with some of the Maxis staff actively working on the latest expansion. The logs from those chat sessions are now available on the official Sims 2 website.

There's a new video out on the official Sims 2 website which gives another peek into the Apartment Life expansion pack which is due out next month.

There's also a new poll on the site asking which of the creatures in previously released expansion packs is everyone's favourite. Currently in the lead are the Vampires from Nightlife.

Ikea Stuff Pack is released

The latest stuff pack bringing Scandinavian style to the Sims 2 has been released and is now available to buy. Sims 2 Ikea Stuff Pack is on sale at all good retailers. You can find out more about the pack here on the official site.

Apartment Life has a few surprises

Well, Maxis have finally confirmed that the long rumoured eighth EP for Sims 2 will bring in multi-occupancy housing. Whether they live in artsy converted lofts, the ultimate studio bachelor pads, or luxury apartments with their own butler, your Sims will experience all of the excitement of Apartment Life!
