1. Prepare Canvas
Open Adobe Photoshop Elements. Click on File→New→Blank File.
A window will pop up that gives you the attribute options you can use. Rename Template (for later use) and then set your drop down boxes from inches to pixels. In the boxes next to your drop down for types of files (inches or pixels) type in 1024x768. Then click OK.
You should have a new blank template that looks like this:
2. Place Screenshot
Now we want to take our game screenshot and size it to that template. So you will now go to File→Place picking out your screenshot when the browse window opens. Browse for your screenshot and place.
3. Resize
Now you can resize the screenshot to fit the 1024x768 space taking care not to make it stretched. If you pull down from the corners, you can fit the screenshot within the space. You may not have everything you took on the original screen showing, but come on, who really wants to see your entire roof anyway. Show off the goods!
Once you have your screen sized in your new template, you then go to Layer→Flatten.
3. Save
Now except for saving the file we are done sizing the screen. Go to File→Save As and name your file.
