WTF?!!? I downloaded it and i have all requirements and everything but when i buy a teleporter and place it in my house once i go back to the live game they just dissapear and my money doesnt come back... is this meant to happen or is it just a bug??

This is because they would have been cloned from the original teleporter in the game (which is invisible). If you were to activate the move objects cheat and grab the end of the sidewalk where neighbours show up on your lot, it would come up with a teleporter in the box at the bottom of the screen. This teleporter is invisible, but it's how the other Sims of the neighbourhood (and NPC's like the paper girl, etc.) access your lot.
This may not have been cloned from the teleporter that came within the game, but it works in a similar way to it.
As I do not have House Party, however, I cannot test this download myself.
Still, this was just a guess. :P
