Installation Instructions:
All shelves are found under Surfaces-Misc in the game catalog. Note that some shelves require expansion packs. If the shelf is flashing blue when placed, you don't have the necessary expansion pack. Each shelf is named after the dresser for which it was designed. In most cases the color of the shelf is a default color of that dresser. They are set that way so you can easily tell them apart in the game catalog.
IMPORTANT! In some cases, it is necessary to place a shelf on the ground first, then place an object on the shelf, then pick up the shelf and move it inside the dresser or pick up the dresser and move it to the same tile as the shelf. No cheat codes required.
ALWAYS put a tabletop shelf on the ground first, then place an object on the shelf, and then move the table to the same spot or pick up the shelf with the object and move it inside the table. This is to make sure that decorative object is sitting on the shelf and not on the table. If sims refuse to put a plate on the table or some other glitches occur, remove the shelf. To move the table shelf to the center of 2-tile table, use "boolProp snapObjectsToGrid true" cheat code. To turn off the code, type "boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false".
There is a pair of glass shelves for OFB decra chill fridge. Place them both on the same tile, then place objects on them (food will not work), then place the decra chill fridge to the same tile.
"Hold Me Closer" Dresser from OFB already has a built-in shelf, but not many decorative objects can be placed on top of it. You can use a custom shelf instead that is included in this set.

YAY! I was looking for something like this the other day! I was trying to put deco items on the vanity, and I couldn't! I think that Maxis should hire people like to to become object makers! Then they would never have people complaining about things that they can/can't do in game! You rock!!!

As an FYI for other users... I've found if you place the space saver first, put your object on top of it, turn on snapobjectstogrid false and then grab the space saver with the object on top (sometimes tricky depending on how large the object is) it's much easier to get things placed just so.
Just a quick note to say what a fantastic idea.... I am very much into story telling and movie making, so this is just the kind of small detail that helps bring sets to life.

Now all we need are some to fit the fantasy window/loveseat (hint, hint, lol). I've tried using Bitzy's shelves but since there isn't one the right height I end up having a LOT of foliage to cover them up from the outside. These are great and much appreciated!
This is a great idea. But I was wondering if it is possible to make invisible shelves with different heights to put on different surfaces. That way we could place things on any object.

Please do this for coffee tables, custom book shelves, custom kitchen cabinet shelves, and endtables, too. This is one of the greatest ideas I have seen in a long time.

By far one of the cleverist and most useful items created. Do you think you will (or if someone else has)ever do any suitable for using on top of pianos or to put additional items on fire place mantles? (I've used the clear ones on a couple of mantles to good effect). I've also used these as "floating" wall shelves (similar to ones I have in my house). You are a very impressive artist!

Fantastic! I used them in the game and they work perfectly! So many wonderful uses for these shelves, I just adore them. This file goes in my Favorite Sims Stuff file folder and that file I keep on a seperate drive so I won't cry if my computer eats my Sims Download folder. Really great idea - Love this!

Windkeeper, what can I say that has not been said before! I just tried these in game tonight, and I came here just to tell you that this is probably the most useful thing I ever d/l for the sims. We can D/L beautiful items and things that are totally unique, but this affects everything in the game. So many things can now be decorated that could not before. I have put multiple things on one table where there is only supposed to be one. Decorated an old fireplace that now looks dynamite. These were an amazing idea. Numbering them made sense because in time you begin to remember what might work with what. Then to be able to make them transparent or invisible is the icing, so to speak. I have told just about everyone that is playing sims 2 about this item. I can't thank you enough. Even tho I just don't like sims 3 nearly as much as sims 2; I hope you do continue to create- be it sims 2 or sims 3 or both. You are very creative and I feel sure you would be missed.
