*Chapter One*
Frances .J. Worthington III is the only son and heir of wealthy business tycoon Frances Worthington II and his wife, Marie. Frances III is attending LFT University and studing for an economics major. He lives in a modest character property, financed by his parents, a stones-throw from campus where he can study away from the typical university life-style.
His parents are delighted at Frances' choice in female company. Jasmine Rai is daughter of Dodi Rai, the very prestiduous managing director of 'SimAir'. She has wonderful connections and the link between herself and Frances could mean great things for future business to the family.
Jasmine's father, however, was not pleased with his only daughter dating Frances. He had already chosen a partner for her, the wealthy son of a rival airline. He knew the Worthington family would very much profit from a link to the Rai's and wished for his only daughter to marry someone of her own background. This hurt poor Jasmine, but being so in love with Frances and being so far from home meant she could keep this huge hurdle in the back of her mind.
The couple spent a great deal of time together over the coming months and Frances made the decision to ask Jasmine to move in with him. She was near enough living there already, but him asking her over dinner made it official and she moved all her belongings in the next day.
Two weeks later whilst the couple were sat down at breakfast together, the phone rang. Jasmine left the table to answer, wondering who was calling at this time of the day. It was her father and he didn't sound very happy at all. He told Jasmine he had found out she was now living with Frances and that if she didn't put an end to this relationship, he would cut ties with her, including her allowance and inheritance.
Frances comforted his girlfriend as she told him what her father had said. He was just as shocked as she was, but was so understanding of his actions. He told her it was only because her father loved her and wanted the best for his only daughter. He said he also loved her more than anything in the world and would let her go if that was what would make her happy. The last thing he wanted to do was to ruin Jasmine's relationship with her only living relative.
Jasmine told Frances ending their relationship was the last thing she wanted to do, she would never be happy without him. She could cope with losing her father with time, but would never come to term with losing the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. She told Frances she wishes to marry him as soon as they finish University.
Frances phoned his parents immediately to fill them in on his and Jasmine's engagement and the whole business with her father. To Frances' surprise his parents acted very unreasonably to the loss of profit on Jasmine's father's part and told him it would probably be best for the pair to put an end to their engagement now before ruining their lives. Frances was disgusted. He had a blazing row over the phone with his parents before slamming the receiver back down.
Jasmine walked tentively into the hall where Frances was standing. He looked like he was going to break down. He told Jasmine what his parents had said about ending their engagement. He also told her his parents said they would disown him if himself and Jasmine got married. It looked like the couple were on their own.
Months went past and Frances and Jasmine were closer than ever, They spent all their spare time together in between studying and despite all the problems they had had, they were both doing incredibly well at University. They had both been able to stay at Frances' parents' house near campus until their studying was over. Frances' parents still wanted him to do well at his course, but once his final year was over, they were on their own.
Late one evening when Frances popped out for a pint of milk, the unforseen happened. As he walked out of the convienience store he was surrounded by a crowd of people wearing suits. Frances was so startled he had no time to react and before he knew it it was knocked unconcious and thrown into a limo.
Jasmine had no idea of Frances' disappearance and the empty space next to her as she slept soundly in their bed. She had no idea that whilst she drempt of her perfect wedding day her fiance was going through hell.
