A month had already passed after the loss in the battle of Sire Agrias against the barbarians. The paladins, despite the loss of a great general, slowly pushed the barbarians away from their kingdom. However, the king suddenly was infected with some sort of unknown disease that halted the paladin's offensive.

A month had already passed after the loss in the battle of Sire Agrias against the barbarians. The paladins, despite the loss of a great general, slowly pushed the barbarians away from their kingdom. However, the king suddenly was infected with some sort of unknown disease that halted the paladin's offensive. The king has grown ill and no cure has been founded. The king talks to his daughter about the possible return of the barbarians and that if he passes away, she must take the responsibility to fight off the barbarians. Meanwhile, the generals are in the meeting chamber. They are talking about whether to take another offensive against the fleeing barbarians. Neil urges the paladins to chase the barbarians. However, war adviser Sire Lucas, thinks its a bad idea. Stretching out the paladin's army to chase the barbarians would leave the kingdom's defense thin. Sire Lucas ordered the generals to tell the paladins not to pursue and instead look for possible cure for the king's illness. Neil in his anger about the decision of Sire Lucas left the war meeting. When Neil was about to leave the castle, the young prince, Romeo confronted him. He says that he heard everything in the war meeting. The prince wanted to tell Neil that the barbarians may have casted a curse on his father through sorcery but Sire Lucas did not believe him. He argues that they may have the cure for it and may also be responsible for Sire Agrias' death. Romeo, the prince, wants to chase the barbarians out in the forests. However, the barbarians have scattered throughout the forest and it may be impossible to find whoever is responsible for casting the curse. He suggested that they seek the help of the Forest Sage. Romeo tells Neil that the sage is able to tell the direction of what they are seeking. The sage speaks. "To the river south, thou shall find the falling water. Along the path lies what thou is looking for. But beware... the power thou is about to face...can bring death to thou himself..." Before Sire Neil and prince Romeo left the sage, the sage tells them one last advice. "Life is like a candle lit with fire. A blow on it and it loses its fire. But a candle without fire does not mean its the end of it. All it needs is another source of fire for it to live again, do not let just one blow to end everything..." Sire Neil and prince Romeo continues to go deep into the forest in pursue of the barbarian who casted the curse to the king. Will the two be able to find what they are looking for?
