Hello and welcome to Skip and Rosemarie: Part 2. Sorry for the delay in getting this up... I've had a lot going on. If you haven't already done so, I'd advise reading the intro and part 1 now. Anyways, read on and hope you enjoy!
"Good morning..." he said.
"Hey you," she replied. "So that was some storm last night, huh?"
"Storm?" Skip asked sheepishly.
"Yeah, you know, the rain..." she answered slowly.
"Oh, yeah. That. I thought you meant... well, never mind." He was beginning to feel his cheeks growing hot. He got himself a cup of coffee as well and quietly sat down again. Skip was feeling quite nervous about what had happened between him and Rosemarie before. Had he taken advantage of her? Had she taken advantage of him? Had they completely wrecked their friendship? He wanted so badly to ask her what she made of it, but he couldn't even bring himself to say it. They continued sipping their coffee in silence until Skip finished his and returned to his room. Rosemarie watched him walk away, wishing she had something. Anything. Skip went into his room and dressed, all the while cursing himself for how he was handling things. He had been raised to respect women, and in his mind, he knew he had made a huge mistake. He worried he was an aggressor, and that Rosemarie wouldn't be able to forgive him for such brutish behavior. Rosemarie, on the other hand, assumed Skip must have been embarrassed for her. She assumed she threw herself at him and that he took pity on her. She knew for sure that he wouldn't be able to respect her again... she could scarcely respect herself. She wanted to go to Skip and apologize for whatever she had done the night before, but instead she just washed out their coffee mugs and went to take a shower. Honestly, Skip didn't want to talk to her... he was afraid she'd be angry with him. But he knew sooner or later they'd have to talk about what had happened, and as it turned out, sooner or later would be after Rosemarie came out of the shower.
"Skip, I think we need to talk," she said calmly as she walked over to the couch where he was sitting.
"Listen, Rosie, I... uh, I mean, Rosemarie," he stammered. "I hope you're not too mad at me. I didn't mean to..." his voice trailed off.
"Oh no!" she exclaimed. "It wasn't your fault. I'm the one who should be sorry."
"We had a lot of wine... It wasn't anybody's fault," he said apologetically.
"Yeah. Still friends?" she asked while holding her arms out for a hug. He smiled and hugged her back, feeling that familiar spark between them. He wanted those feelings to go away more than anything... things were becoming too complicated and he sensed it would only get worse. Some time passed and the pair agreed not to talk about what happened between them on that rainy night. A few weeks passed, and they spent their time together making little more than small talk. But almost every night Skip dreamt about Rosemarie... how her hair smelled, the lace of her nightie, her soft skin. He wanted to be with her, but she had become so important to him in such a short time that he would have preferred to go on forever as just friends than to fail as something else. Many nights, he'd wake up from his dreams of her in a nervous sweat. One morning, Skip went out for the mail and found an invitation to a distant cousin's wedding. He called his mother, who advised him to take a date, and said that she thought Rosemarie would look lovely in a nice dress. Real subtle, Mom, he thought. But he figured she had a point... couldn't very well go to the wedding alone, and Rosemarie was a good friend... Still he wondered if asking her wouldn't be awkward. But after some thought, he decided to ask her to go with him, and she said yes. Rosemarie wondered if it was a date, or just an outing as friends. She hoped it was a date, so she waited until Skip was at work one day and went shopping for a new dress. On the day of the wedding, Skip got dressed in his rented tuxedo and stood waiting by the car for Rosemarie to come out, as they were running a little late. But when he saw Rosemarie, in his mind he forgave her tardiness. She had her hair all pulled up into a bun with a few curls here and there and she was wearing the most amazing dress that hugged in all the right places and flowed in all the others. Skip had never seen anything so beautiful in his entire life. The wedding was lovely, but to Skip, it wasn't half as lovely as the girl who accompanied him. During the lovely outdoor reception, everyone danced, including Skip and Rosemarie. To be as shy as he was, Skip was quite skilled with his footwork. He and Rosemarie tore up the dance floor to every fast and medium speed song, but they both avoided the slower ones. But near the end of the evening a slow song came up before they could get off the floor, so they had to dance together. At first they were both nervous, but soon they were enjoying the closeness. Rosemarie moved in a little closer to Skip and he wrapped his arms a little tighter around her. Soon, Rosemarie put her head on Skip's shoulder and he couldn't help but grin. Soon, the reception was over and everyone went home. Skip and Rosemarie were quite silent on the ride home, but they'd occasionally smile at each other and giggle a little. When the got in the house, they hugged and as he was about to walk away Rosemarie stopped him.
"It wasn't that much," she began.
"Hm? That much what?" he asked, not knowing what she was on about.
"One bottle of wine between two people... well, it really isn't that much. I think we both knew what we were doing," she said before turning her doorknob and walking away. Skip wondered then if Rosemarie was trying to tell him something, but he figured it was best to let it go... for the night at least. But he couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful she looked and how much fun they had together. And was she right? Had they both known what they were doing? As he was getting no peace while consumed with his thoughts, he decided to put everything out of his mind... and once he did, he fell asleep. The next morning, Skip woke up to the sound of loud music coming from the front room. He got up and went to see what was the source of the commotion, and found Rosemarie sitting on the couch in her pajamas, looking quite misty eyed.
"Rosie? What's the matter?" he asked sympathetically.
"Oh... I didn't hear you come in," she sniffed.
"Yeah, and I'm not surprised. What's wrong? You can tell me," he said softly.
"I should tell you," she began, "but I can't." Skip approached her cautiously, wondering what on earth could be the matter. The night before she had been so happy... they both had been. Now, Rosemarie was standing in front of him, looking as though she were about to cry. They sat down on the couch together, neither of them speaking. Skip was growing more worried about his dear friend, so he finally blurted, "Rosemarie, you've just gotta tell me what's wrong! You're driving me up the wall." She eyed him slowly with concern all over her face. They both sat silent for a few more minutes before Rosemarie opened her mouth. "Skip, I'm pregnant," she finally admitted. Skip's eyes grew as wide as a deer caught in headlights. A million thoughts raced through his head. A baby?
"Rosemarie... are you... are you sure?" he stuttered.
"Yeah, I'm sure. I'm definitely... you know," she sighed.
"How long have you known?" he asked.
"Not too long... And it's definitely your's... our's," she said slowly, glancing over at him.
"What are you gonna do?" he asked, trying to remain calm despite his heart's racing.
"Well, what can I do?" she half-shouted out of apparent frustration. Rosemarie got up, and Skip buried his face in his hands.
"I didn't mean to yell at you," she began. "I'm just scared I guess."
"Me too," Skip sighed. "But we can do this... together. Can't we?" Rosemarie smiled and hugged him, feeling relieved by Skip's reaction. Skip was still slightly in shock of Rosemarie's news. They weren't even dating, and now they were having a child together? What would this mean for him and Rosemarie? And what would he tell his parents? Now he understood why Rosemarie was so upset when he first saw her that morning... she was probably just as lost as he was. Skip decided then that it was time for him to be a man... he was going to go to Rosemarie and be calm and rational and they'd figure everything out. They'd have to. But he decided to wait a while first... he figured he'd take that chance to tell the one person who'd always been supportive and honest and loving to him -- his mother. His father had always been too busy with his work to take much of an interest in him, so he had always turned to his mother for most everything. He called her up and didn't beat around the bush... he was straight-forward. "Mother, Rosemarie and I are going to have a baby." There was a long silence on the other end. "Mother?" Skip asked. "Mother, are you still there?"
Just then his mother finally spoke. "What on EARTH were the two of you thinking? Having a baby. You're a baby yourself, Skip!"
"I am not a baby, Mother," Skip replied, trying to remain calm. "I'm a grown man, and I..."
Mrs. Roper interrupted. "A man! That's a laugh! If you were a 'man' you wouldn't have gotten yourself into this mess!"
"Mess? What's wrong with having a baby?" he asked, beginning to sound as ruffled as he felt.
"Well, for starters you're not married. And you're too young!" she began angrily. "You don't even love each other!" "Who said I don't love her!?" he shouted. He regretted the words before they were all the way out of his mouth, but he couldn't stop them.
"Oh, of course you think you love her! Why wouldn't you? She let you get her pregnant," his mother retorted angrily.
"But I thought you liked her..." he started.
"This has nothing to do with her, this is about my son making a ridiculous mistake!" she shouted.
Now Skip was really angry. "You're right, Mother, I did make a mistake! I won't call you again if you're going to act like this!" He hung up after that.
Skip stormed away from the phone, incredulous at what his mother had said. She implied that he couldn't handle a family. She called him a child. He was determined then to prove her wrong. He and Rosemarie would have this baby and he'd be a good dad. He'd take good care of Rosemarie too. He knew then that he was right earlier when he decided to go to her. But the question was, would they be friends who have a baby together, or more? What did Rosemarie want? Skip wasn't going to sit around wondering anymore... he went up to Rosemarie and told her how he felt. About the baby anyways. "Rosemarie... I've been thinking," he began. "And I know you're still not sure how you feel about all of this... but for what it's worth, I want you to know that I really want to have this baby... I think we could do it."
Rosemarie gazed at him for a long time. "Well, I... I want to do this, but... what about my job? And dating? And..."
"And what? You'd be able to keep your job... they'd hold it for you until you were ready to come back. And why wouldn't you be able to date? Any guy that doesn't want to go with a girl because she's got a baby isn't the guy for you anyways," he said quickly but sincerely. Rosemarie smiled. She was feeling much less afraid and starting to look forward to the baby. She didn't say anything, just grabbed him and hugged him close.
"We're doing this?" Skip whispered as they hugged.
"Yeah, I think we are," she replied happily. Skip and Rosemarie decided to stay friends, and vowed to be supportive of each other no matter what happened with their baby and their future. A few weeks passed and they'd often sit together and talk about the baby. Rosemarie swore she could see the baby's face perfectly if she closed her eyes, and Skip had a laundry list of names that would supposedly bring the child good luck. They were both genuinely happy all the time during those few weeks and they spent all their free time just enjoying each others' company. Soon Rosemarie's condition began to show, and the pair felt even more excited about the child. Some time passed, and both Skip and Rosemarie wondered about their relationship. Skip treated Rosemarie well... he'd hug and reassure her when she felt fat, do chores for her, and kept her very good company. Rosemarie began to care more and more for him, and wished he'd make a move on her. She wanted to be his girl, but she thought she was in no position to be forward. She tried to hint to him that she was open to the idea of being more than friends... sometimes she'd give him looks and she'd often sit close to him when they'd watch television together. One night, right before they went to bed, she made a quite bold hint to him... Skip walked her to her door and said goodnight, then told her tummy goodnight, as he was convinced the baby could hear him. She hugged him close, then pulled away slowly, gazing into his eyes. Skip wanted so badly to kiss her, but he didn't. Rosemarie went into her bedroom and leaned against the door, wishing she'd moved to kiss him. She went to bed but couldn't fall asleep because her mind was still on Skip. Skip was in his room thinking of her too, and wishing the wall between them would fall. Skip regretted not kissing her... obviously she'd wanted him to. But why hadn't he? Skip wasn't even sure of that himself. When he tired of beating himself up, he got up and returned to the front room to watch TV since he couldn't sleep. He turned the volume up high, hoping he'd wake Rosemarie and she'd join him. Rosemarie still wasn't asleep, so when she heard the TV she decided to join Skip, hoping that a fresh conversation would take her mind off the previous one. She went and sat next to him, and there was so much tension in the room you could cut it with a knife.
"Couldn't sleep either?" he asked casually.
"Yeah, I guess..." she replied mindlessly. They watched the television silently for quite some time, neither of them paying it much attention. When Rosemarie bored of sitting there, she got up to return to her room, but Skip spoke.
"Rosie, wait!" he exclaimed. Suddenly he was at a loss for words.
"What's the matter?" she asked, approaching him. Skip walked closer to Rosemarie with his head down. "I... well, uh..." he stuttered. Rosemarie grabbed his hand, finally realizing that the feelings between them were quite mutual. Skip could feel the hair on his arm stand up as he got nearer to her.
"Rosie, I've been wanting to say something to you for a long time... practically since I met you," he began slowly. "The thing is, I really care about you..."
As Skip's words began to slow, Rosemarie sensed he was about to chicken out. "Skip, are you going to ask me on a date? Because if you are, I'll say yes. I'd say yes to anything you'd ask me," she blurted. Skip held on to her hand and smiled.
"I thought you'd never ask," he said. She returned his smile, and ran her hand along his face. Skip finally had the confidence to kiss her... and he did. "So, will you go out with me?" he asked, with a knowing smile on his face and his arms still wrapped around her.
"Just try and talk me out of it," she laughed. After a bit more (very flirtatious) conversation, they each returned to their respective bedrooms. They planned to go out the next evening. Skip laughed a little to himself that he and the girl who was expecting his baby were going on their first date. He soon drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face. Thank you all for reading my story! Let me know what you think, and be on the look out for Part 3. Thank you to all the CC creators... without you these sims would not look as nice as they do.

I think this story is a bit naive but then you are only 19 so I guess that's why. The kind of guys who have one night stands and don't bother to use any contraception don't tend to be the marrying kind. And Rosemarie is being very understanding "I know you've got me pregnant and all but if you don't want to help raise the baby I'll understand." And then they are thinking of dating each other?!! Hmmmm...bit confused I think.

They were friends before, so it's not that strange if they already care for each other... I was only friends with my boyfriend for two years - then we realized it's more than friendship. This can happen, and it's not naive, I think.
Nice story

Didn't see the pregnacy coming but those things happen, I'm so happy they're getting over their shyness and finally able to admit how they really feel about each other. The best relationships start with a great friendship. They already love the baby and each other looks like every thing is finally starting to fall in place, even if it is a bit out of the ideal order but hey that's life. Great story can't wait to read more.
