Hello there, welcome to the Part 8 of my attempt to do a Legacy challenge. If you haven't read the previous parts, please do that. If you don't know what's a Legacy challenge, visit www.legacychallenge.com first. And so, as you remember, my 3rd generation heir Donna just grew up to a teenager. She rolled up a popularity aspiration and a LTW of becoming a General. Since I already have a Military career reward on my legacy lot, she'll have to choose something different. This is her new clothing, looks much better. And now to the mirror of course, you won't spend your whole life with that haircut. Much better! She's so pretty, she still is my favorite sim in my legacy so far. For a better/closer look. Of course, she will have to learn all the perks as my legacy heir. And as you can see by her face she doesn't really like that idea. Maybe only fortune sims like that? Next morning Caroline finally became a mother. And here is the first baby, named... Wait a second, the FIRST baby? There was only space for one and she is having TWO???
Ok, she's a family sim, she can get a reward of an increased chance of having twins. I didn't give her that at first, because I thought I might someday give her a child and it can't be more than one. Later I decided she won't have children and gave it to her anyway. When I finally wanted to give her a child I was calm because I knew there is only space for one sim/pet in the household. And the stupid game gives me two! Well I guess I'll have to handle that. Somehow. Thank you for everyone who suggested names, no offence please if I haven't picked yours, I only needed one! I myself thought at first that a girl would be Emily and couldn't think a name for a boy. Reading all your lovely suggestions I decided that if it's a girl, I'll name her Ellie, if it's a boy - Ethan or Eden. The first baby, the darker one, on the left, is a girl, so you guessed - she's Ellie. And the second baby was a boy and I needed to do some fast thinking for a name that starts with "F". The only name that got to my head was Franklin. I made a room for them upstairs. Zeeshan, I know you're a romancer, but don't look at your wife like that, it's not her fault that the stupid game gave her two babies instead of one and you have to help her now. It won't kill you after all! Beatrice agreed to do the shopping while on her way to business lots. The hairy nanny :) He loves babies. And I love watching him care for them. While Donna tries to burn the house... Hey, you're not my favorite legacy heir, you're my ONLY one! So PLEASE be careful with that! And don't look at your food with eyes so sad, it's your own fault you leave it to burn. Ellie has her father's skin and eyes. And she will have blond hair, I think. She's a Zeeshan's copy. Franklin has Caroline's skin, but Zeeshan's eyes. And Caroline's black hair, if I see correctly... Did you know you can tell the baby's hair color by their eyebrows? Donna hates learning the business perks. She looks like that every time. Look, she's even happier to go to school! I am beginning to think if it's possible at all to catch all the bugs for the collection. Zeeshan seems to have no luck. It's Flake... ...all grown up. Old, actually. And that's Tora, learning to play dead. Great moment captured. Just look at those little loyal eyes. I have a dog myself. That look in the little furry one's eyes is indescribable, amazing. Makes you think "How can someone NOT love this little creature?" Time for the twin sisters to grow up. Caroline was a few seconds first for some reason. But that doesn't matter. She can keep her outfit. And Beatrice will look much better in this. Donna got a little too hot while training Tora outside, so she went to try out the pool I built for her. It was time for Doris to die... She will be missed. My little graveyard for pets in the corner of the lot. Tora, our star. Reached the top of her career. And if not those TWINS, we could get another dog, so she could befriend him and breed later when there's space in the house, but no, I'll have to wait now... Franklin was younger but grew up first. It's his new clothing. Ellie didn't want to grow up. But there is one thing that I can tell you from my own experience, even if a baby really really and I mean REALLY doesn't want to grow up, he will at midnight. That's some kind of a "deadline". Little pretty Ellie. And her new clothing. You know, I really like this girl. Donna proved to be a real popularity girl. She keeps bringing friends home from school, not every day, but quite often. Yes, Caroline, I also think you could have called the adoption service and get yourself ONE baby, but there's no way back. And you're not getting more! Ellie happened to have a natural tallent for Arts&Crafts. That makes her useful! I tried the Wishing Well again... ...and it worked! Zeeshan already had 17 loves, so there was only 3 to go for his LTW. So I thought I'll try for friends. If it works - it will give me 3, just as many as I need. If not - at least no Crumplebottom. And it... Worked... Kinda... I didn't think it will give me 3 guys. No, I'm not making you the wrong orientation Zeeshan, send them home. All of them. He's hot. Admit it. I would fall for his charms. Vampies comming to visit my nightclub. The best way to earn the stars in nightclubs is to use the VooDoo doll for the friendships. I love the toddler table, it's one of the best objects Maxis has ever made. I just wish it would come in more different colors, to match any color nursery. Hey, you readers out there, if you know where I could find nice recolours, let me know, ok? With all those grownups around, twin toddlers never lacked attention. Even Donna liked to spend time with her little cousins. I hate Servos. No, really, I do. This one came from a TSR challenge, because the action takes place in my neighborhood for challenges. They are useful for one thing, though. You don't have to hire a sim to tidy up if you have a Servo as a client. Am I crazy or is she drawing a lama? I just thought I would take picture of this funny werewolf-like walking. It's even more funny with that shopping bag in her hand (paw?). The well is REALLY working, yay! Two lamas!!! Maxis, you rule! This is great! I just had to save at least one of those. Hey! Mister ghost, get away from him, he is my Romance sim that will die platinum of old age! He was just hunting bugs out there! Zeeshan, get inside, I don't want you to be scared to death. Zeeshan wasn't really excited about that baby stuff at first, but when they grew up a little, he fell in love with this pretty lady Ellie. She's now the woman he adores. But he still is trying to achieve his lifetime want of 20 loves. And the gardeners fall from the sky... The bug hunt is actually going not so bad. The bee attacks happen less often. And he only needs to catch one more spider to complete the collection. Unfortunately, that's not so easy... And it's time for him to grow up. I even like his outfit, he can keep that. Donna is painting a masterpiece, you'll see later. Otis grew up to elder. There it is! Half of the work is done already. I just wish I would have had this idea before Zeeshan got old, but anyway... Lamas. And other animals. Those little toddlers aren't so bad at painting! And speaking of paintings, this one's finished. At first I wanted to hang it in the nursery, but then I thought hey, why hide? I'll put it somewhere where everyone comes once in a while! So it's in the kitchen, for everyone to see. Sorry for this screenshot. I usually try to get the twins in one place before they grow up, to show them both, but I didn't make it now, so... It's the only way to show them both, there will be close ups later. Franklink decided to be the first one again. And Ellie grew up after a second. Franklin. Ellie. I'll let them both keep their outfits. I hate it when the ghosts are turning the graves. I put them the way I want them to be. And then they come and ruin everything. Oh those restless ones... This is how the children's room looks now. In case you wondered (because I did), no, the wishing well doesn't give you only elders when asking for romance, if you're an elder already. But elders aren't so bad, you know. And the garden lady is his lucky number 20! But I'll still have him working for 30, because he rolled up a want for that and it will get me many many points to spend on Elixire. Glitchy girl. Every single morning she wakes up and doesn't really get out of bed, but just appeares standing near it, if you know what I mean. She cancels all interactions in the queue and the current ones I made for her and just STANDS. She takes out a toy out of the toy box, the toy disappeares, causing an unusable tile, saying "something's on it" and she just STANDS. Go play with your brother. Hey, you can put frames on these! Zeeshan's teaching his son everything he knows about life. Time to invite the headmaster. The twins are just as lucky as Donna, they grew up on saturday, the headmaster comes on sunday, they will never see the public school. Hello, mister headmaster, my name is Ellie, I grew up yesterday! No, mister headmaster, it's not a rat you're eating, it's the fish that Blair cooked for us! I don't know why he greated Beatrice, not Zeeshan or Caroline, but whatever. The kids got into private school. While staring at the bug box, Franklin found out he has a natural talent for nature. No way, Frankie, I have other plans for you. You're going to gain enthusiasm in sports! An invitation to a secret hobby lot while sleeping. And it's time for Flake to die... It's not that I'm happy about it, but there's now space for a new pet to continue the breeding. And I need to get that fast, so he can make friends with Tora and give her a puppy before she's too old. The only large male dog available was this doofus dog. I didn't want little puppies. Well, he's not so bad. And happens to like music. And I have two full sets of Elixire! I decided that Beatrice should leave the top level family business hanging there and focus on two not-top-level ones. And when they are level ten, focus on the two left. So now she's working in the pet store and the clothing store. The clothing store was so far the only one out of 5 without the "Best of the best" award, but look who's here - and he gave it to us! An invitation to a secret hobby lot, keep up the good work, Franklin! Hey, she's actually getting out of bed! The glitchy girl got fixed after I installed Ikea stuff, nice! Oh, don't be so sad... You need only one spider. One more little spider to go. And you can do nothing but lay on the bed daydreaming. Just PLEASE catch me that spider!!! Half a point for max enthusiasm in Arts&Crafts! Donna called the taxi early in the morning, while everyone was still sleeping. And went to college... This was time for a pet woohoo, which, luckily for me, ended up in pregnancy. I wanted to do this asap, not to risk Tora getting too old. This is what Donna grew up into. Anyone else thinks it's awful? But there was one thing more important than a makeover - to declare that she'll be studying drama. And now to hit the shops. I made her change her clothing right there, in the shop, so I don't have to stare at it a minute longer. And the hair change in the very same shop. Surprise surprise, her hair IS awailable for this age, but it was in a custom category, so the game decided she has to "grow out of it". I decided to try something different for her on that occasion, like for example red hair. And now to write a one-needed-per-generation-novel. She was fast. Two evenings and the novel is finished. And it's a bestseller! Meanwhile at home it was quite an eventful day. Our poor little Otis died. I liked him. Really. And the twins grew up. This time Ellie was first. I'm sorry for the angle, I'll show her to you. There she is. Doesn't look so bad. But needs clothing change. And there's Franklin. I let Franklin keep his clothing, but fixed the hair a little. Nothing really significant, but looks better. And Ellie found this in the wardrobe. Looks much better in this than that orange something. And a different hair. Which she didn't like... I wonder why. Who cares, she's having that. There. Let me know if you like it. It was so funny when a dormie with a graduation outfit fell here. Lets take that as a hint and go back to college... At first I wanted Donna to take a job in Show Business, but I changed my mind, because Ellie looks much better for that. Oh, and by the way, Ellie rolled up fortune aspiration and LTW - Chief Of Staff, which she won't get, so she'll be going for Show Business. After much thinking I decided that Donna will change her major to Philosophy and look for a job in Paranormal career track. Franklin rolled up Pleasure aspiration and LTW - Celebrity Chef. I got tired of Donna's red hair very quickly, so here's the Donna you know. Almost forgot, have to change that picture on the door, makes me sick to see it... Much better. It's not always a good idea to cook your own food in the dorms. Donna almost set everything on fire... She spent lots of time painting while in college. Or should I say she spent ALL of her time painting. Going to classes was enough not to get on academic probation and she didn't want to study more then it's really needed. She'd rather spend her time painting and selling her paintings for money. She's saving up for a vacation. While thikning of relationships a lot, college was not the time and the place to achieve the impossible want of 30 best friends. Why do it the hard way, when you can do it at home with the wishing well - 3 each day! In the middle of sophmore year Donna went on her first vacation. Donna visited Takemizu Village. I thought that if my first generation sim got married to a guy from the mountains, the second generation spouses were from the island, so the third generation should marry someone from far east! And that could be a tradition, because the 10th generation ends the challenge with it's birth - no marriage for it. So it's 9 generations, 3 times mountain-island-far east. Donna was lucky enough to meet the ninja on the first lot she visited and learn the teleportation secret from the first try! Then she played with the locals a little, no winning yet, maybe next day. She also met many locals while walking around, but I won't bother you with all the pictures of them, you've played it, you've seen them - nothing new. Oops... A wish gone wrong. At least the memento counted anyway. You better not join the game with this guy. He wanted to greet Donna a few times, but I always cancelled that. When she got back to the hotel I remembered she knows all perks and can call ANYONE even if she doesn't know the person! So I browsed the phonebook and tried to invite some over. Do you know they have ugly big noses? All of them? I was hoping to meet some massage guys, but there is a woman and this guy. He could do, but he has the same skintone as Donna, so the handicap says no. I guess I'll settle down for this guy, named Corbin Gray. Also has a big nose, but he's not so ugly as many of them. Unless she meets some tourist before leaving. Corbin happens to like her. If I had a guy looking for love, Takemizu Village has lots of good looking women, but they really have a problem with men... Hey, this guy isn't looking so bad! Idon't know why I haven't noticed him earlier, I guess I just thought that he has black hair... (Playing at night it's easy to confuse the colors.) Lucky me, he has a darker skintone than Donna! I found her a husband! Well, he will have to change his hair, of course... Forgot to mention the name - Nicholas Barthelet. Did you ever examine the "local food" stands closely? Every item has a plumbob on it. Future lovers enjoying tee together. Ouch.. They happen to have negative chemistry towards each other. Well that can be changed with the bottles with blue liquid in their pockets. Browsing local outfits. Trying on local outfits. But no buying, I like what she's wearing now. But I do miss the thing from the first sims "Would you like to buy it?". A sim's face when teleporting. Looks... em... evil! I asked Nicholas about his skills, he said he's pretty good at creativity. I set Donna's turn ons brown hair and creativity, turn off - full face makeup. Got 1 bolt chemistry. At least that's better than negative... A little romance before leaving... And a goodbye hug. Time to go home - back to college. Soon after Junior year Donna went on vacation again. Nothing special, just to have a good vacation in the family vacation house. And I think she found herself an imaginary friend there on the island. And she brought him back to the dorm with her. Because when she got back, a pop-up said there's not enough rooms for my sims, so some will move out now. Donna's room was unclaimed (???) and one dormie unclaimed his room, but took it back after a few hours, when he saw noone's planning to take it. And then when Donna was at class, she got the genie lamp. At least I thought so, she's the only controlable sim on the lot, who else would get the lamp, right? Not right, have no idea who got it, but Donna has no memory of getting the lamp... Anyway, since she IS the only controlable sim on the lot, I feel I have the right to give the lamp to her. College years do last forever even with the max speed on... It's my least favorite EP. I would not play it at all if I wasn't so in love with the Natural Science and Paranormal careers. But it's finally over for Donna. She grew up into the same ugly haircut and even worse outfit... I'll fix it as soon as she gets back home and to normal life. This ends part 8 of my legacy and the next part may not come soon, because I will be leaving on vacation myself. Thanks for reading!

    When you got the message that 'the application has crashed' in a few chapters ago, which neighbourhood were you playing in? I get the same message, but only when I've played in the neighbourhood that came with Free Time (I never had this problem before, but I installed Free Time and Bon Voyage at the same time, so I'm not sure which EP might be the "bad" one). Nothing happened when I played in college, and not when I played in my Challenges neighbourhood either, so I was just wondering if you were playing in the same neighbourhood as I when you got that problem. I'm wondering if I dare to install the patch, since so many people seem to have had problems when installing it...:S
