Hello everyone. This is a story of how I played my Pleasantview. Do not expect a literary masterpiece, it's more like a "What I did with my Pleasantview". Of course, with the "background stories", as I like to call them. The ones I make up to explain why is something happening. You'll understand when you read it, if it doesn't make any sense now! I am sorry in advance for any possible mistakes, because english is not my native language. Also for those of you "use your own pictures, not Maxis made ones" I'd like to say - this story may be read by those who never played Pleasantview for whatever reasons. I want them to have full understanding of everything.

Please don't stop reading only because of this! I'll start with the Broke household. Introduction to those, who don't know anything about Pleasantview. In the picture you see Brandi Broke. She's a widow, the Maxis story says that her husband Skip died in a pool ladder accident. She is left to raise two boys, the older one - Dustin and the younger one she's holding in a picutre - Beau. Also, when you enter the lot, Brandi soon realises that she's pregnant with her third child. They live in a house far too small for such a family and has no job, so things aren't going on so good. Dustin works as a criminal after school to bring at least some money home. He is a fortune aspiration sim with a dream of earning a fortune one day. Brandi is a sweet and simple family sim, all she wants is her 3 children being able to get a higher education. She never went to college herself, so she hopes that at least her children, all 3 of them will have that opportunity and graduate. Now the other Maxis-made pictures that show some prehistory. In this picture you can see Brandi as a child. On the left is her mother Betty. The very same Betty Newbie, a well known tutorial sim from The Sims 1. In the background - Bob and Betty Newbie. Brandi is an adult, her dead husband Skip is with her on this picture. Skip proposes to Brandi. The little boy in the picture should be Dustin when he was younger. Brandi is giving birth to her second child Beau. Dustin's birthday. That's all from Maxis. On to my story. The bad quality pictures I've been talking about. I'm sorry again... It's only in the beginning of the story, some of them. There will be better. My graphics card was totally broken at the time I was playing.
In the picture Brandi is teaching little Beau to talk. I know most people rush in to making makeovers to Maxis-made sims, I also used to. The second, the third time I restarted my Pleasantview. But later I just decided to go with the Maxis-made looks if they're not terrible. As those of you who have played Pleasantview already know, Dustin likes bringing Angela Pleasant home from school. Angela will be introduced later, right now all you need to know that she is Dustin's girlfriend, they are very much in love. On the sim-day 2 Beau grew up into child. Sorry for the PJ's, forgot to change the toddler into everyday. Or Brandi was too busy to do it. Or whatever.
Note: I keep a calendar where I mark special events of my sims households. Engagements, marriages, births, birthdays, etc. On the sim-day 2 means on the second day after you entered the lot for the first time, before 6PM. After 6PM would be day 3 already. So to keep it shorter I won't be calling it "sim-day", just "Day 2" for example. Brandi giving birth to her third child. As many times as I started over she always had a boy, but I've heard people saying she had a girl for them. And this time it was also a boy, I named him Larry. He was born on day 3. Brandi couldn't afford having a pet at home, but she felt really sorry for all the homeless animals, so she sometimes played with them, when she had time. That wasn't really often. Little Larry growing up to toddler on day 5. This was my little introduction to the Broke family. Be patient, interesting stories will come! The next household is the Caliente sisters. On the left - Nina Caliente, a romance sim. Life is all about men to her. On the left - Dina Caliente, a fortune sim. Always into some dirty business, dreams of becoming a Criminal Mastermind some day. These are Nighat (on the left) and Flamenco Caliente with the newborn twins Dina and Nina. I don't know what's this picutres supposed to mean actually. Well the Caliente household gets visited by the burglar very soon after you enter the lot. Maybe it's a warning? I'm interpreting this one in a way that Nina was always the charming one, getting everyone's attention and Dina was always left behind. This is Dina's wedding to Michael Bachelor, who is dead when you enter the game. His grave is in the Caliente's house. Michael Bachelor is a brother of Bella Goth, who will be introduced later. Also it is said that the Caliente sisters have some kind of an interest towards Mortimer Goth, (the husband of previously mentioned Bella). And the game is intended by Maxis that Dina marries him, a rich sim, which is important to her. But I didn't follow that story... My Pleasantview had a shopping district called Bluewater Village (comes with Open For Business EP). There is a sim called Malcolm Landgraab IV. I'll introduce him later, for now you only need to know that he's an extremely rich sim, multiple businesses owner and he's young! Dina saw an article about him on a newspaper one day and decided that he will be her rich victim. Why go for an old guy with two children who hate her if you can get a young and successful businessman? So the sisters spent their last money on some gorgeous outfits and called a taxi to the Club Dante. The owner of the club was Malcolm. Luckily, he was there and Dina did her best to catch his attention and make sure she won't be forgotten. Back at home her dead husband's ghost showed her that ghosts have feelings too. And that he's extremely jelous. Nina's story will come later, I have a few more families to introduce. And next come the Goth household. If you remember, in The Sims 1 there was a Goth household - Mortimer and Bella goth with a daughter Cassandra. In Pleasantview, when you enter the lot, you can find Mortimer Goth - an elder knowledge sim, Cassandra Goth - his adult daughter, a family sim, dreaming of marriage and children, and little boy Alexander, Cassandra's younger brother. This is Mortimer's and Bella's marriage. Bella has a big mystery of her own, you can find plenty of information and stories about her, so I'll just go with the basics. A few slides later. This is Mortimer and Bella with the little Cassandra as a toddler. And here's the little Alexander born. Cassandra is engaged to Don Lothario, quite a character, I'll introduce him later. This is showing how they met, I think. So far you just need to know he's a romance sim. A few facts about Bella. The last time she was seen is at Don's place, stargazing. She is a romance sim, so maybe they had an affair or something. She's not dead and even brings Alexander to college if you have special events camera on. Mortimer misses his wife a lot. So the most logical explanation is that Bella was abducted by aliens. She can be found in Strangetown as a townie, there's an alien space ship crashed. also, she was last seen stargazing (never mind the fact it wasn't the expensive telescope). And Dina has aliens in her family tree, so maybe she asked them to take Bella away so she could have Mortimer and his money after Michael was dead. Anyway, I don't care. Like I said, I wasn't fascinated by the idea of marrying her to Mortimer. Introducing Don Lothario. A single romance sim who would like to stay single. He likes ladies, pretty ladies, especially the Caliente sisters. And isn't really excited about the whole marriage thing. The game says about Cassandra "Will she be able to tame the town casanova?" Don was seen kissing Dina... Jogging with Nina... Hottubbing with both...
And you already know the story of a possible affair with Bella. Nect is Darren Dreamer. His wife died a while ago and he's raising his son Dirk alone. Darren is a knowledge sim and the game states he's an artist. Darren has a crush on Cassandra. His son Dirk is a fortune sim, dreams of becoming a successful businessman some day. Darren was happy once with his wife Darleen. She was still there to see Dirk's first steps. But their happiness didn't last long. Then Darren met Cassandra. Maybe he dreams to impress her with his talent, I don't know. The background story told by Maxis about the Pleasant family is that Daniel Pleasant, a romance sim, was a famous football player. Mary-Sue (fortune) was his fan. And they got married. But Mary-Sue was spending too much time in other things other than her husband, so he got into an affair with the maid Kaylynn. Daniel and Mary-Sue have twin daughters, completeley different. Angela - the name says it all, a quiet and nice angel, and Lilith - a rebel. Both girls are popularity sims. Lilith Pleasant is one of my personal favorites. Daniel's and Mary-Sue's wedding. You can see Cassandra Goth on the left, she's a friend of Mary-Sue. The birth of the twins. The twins as children, their birthday. The twins as teens. Lilith on the left, Angela on the right. Daniel and Mary-Sue arguing inside, seen through the window. Lilith's boyfriend is Dirk Dreamer. But to me it never seemed right, so I played it the other way.
As you know already, Angela is Dustin's girlfriend. But Daniel doesn't like Dustin, he thinks his daughter deserves better. Well I do have pictures of them kissing. I didn't mind them being together while teens, I knew I'd change it later. I already had someone for Dirk. But they bought identical dogs! Dirk's was a female - Darla. She loved sleeping on Darren's big bed. Lilith's dog was male, she called him Samuel. And this is the very special one for Dirk. She's Melody Tinker, from Bluewater Village. Her family will be introduced later, so shortly about her: Melody is a knowledge sim, has a passion for arts. Since Darren is an artist... There is an art gallery in Bluewater Village. Melody loved going there after school and saw some of Darren's paintings. Then she found out that Darren lives not far really and decided to meet him. That's how she met Dirk also. Mary-Sue was the only sim that had an instant makeover. She wanted to save her marriage, since public image was extremely important to her. She changed her hair, put on some makeup... ...and even started working out with Daniel's help to improve her body shape. Meanwhile Lilith was practicing to play guitar, she wanted to become a Rock God one day. And Angela dreamed of becoming a journalist. Daniel grew up to elder quite soon, day 5. You think that was the end of golden days for a romancer? Think again! But that will be told in some other chapter. You already know a thing or two about Melody Tinker. She's there, painting. Her parents Stephen and Wanda Tinker are both family sims, who own a toy shop and dream about bringing joy to other familes. They always wanted their shop to remain in the family for generations, but Melody doesn't want to be a part of that. They constantly argue about Melody's future. Stephen would be happy if Melody had enthusiasm in toy making just like him. But Melody was scared buy a Clown-in-a-box toy gone wrong when she was very little. Since then Melody believes that all toys are evil. No matter how hard they try, Wanda and Stephen can't convince Melody that she's wrong. The most obvious solution to the problem was Wanda having another baby. The very first time I played Bluewater it was a boy, so I named him Stephen Jr. But this time it was a girl. I was thinking of quitting without saving and trying again, but then let her be. Stephanie was born on day 6. Malcolm Landgraab IV. You may guess there was Malcolm Landgraab III and Malcolm Landgraab II... Malcolm and his first business ownership. Malcolm Landgraab IV with some red haired woman. If anyone knows who she is let me know.
I have my own guess (just a guess!) that these are Malcolm Landgraab III and his wife, Malcolm Landgraab IV's parents. And this is probably supposed to mean that Malcolm's parents died when he was just a child and he was raised by his grandfather. One day Dina accidentally met Malcolm in Pleasantview. She was shocked seeing him. Dina wasn't ready for that! Not the best dress, no makeup... But looks like it didn't matter to Malcolm, he liked her either way. The "victim" was hers without a doubt. They shared their first kiss and agreed to meet again soon. Malcolm asked Dina out on a date in a very expensive restaurant. He was trying to impress the girl of his dreams, not even knowing that it's not necessary. The date ended with an even more passionate kiss. Needless to say that eventually they were kissing in the Landgraab's residence. Dina looked amazing. (Do you know that she's actually very beautiful if you change her hair and makeup?) You may kiss the bride... Rushing into the limo. And back at home, the happy family. Two fortune sims - a perfect combination. Of course, being a rich man's wife gave Dina not only the opportunity but also an obligation to look better than ever! Dina Landgraab. A happy wife of a rich sim. Meanwhile at home Nina was spending time with Don. Spending lots of fun time with Don... And spending some time with Jason Larson.
A shirt background: Jason and Jodie Larson are twin sims found in a family bin after you install Open For Business. I moved them into Pleasantview and Jason met Nina soon. Jason and Jodie are both fortune sims. Nina was also spending time with Chester Gieke.
Chester is a sim that also comes with Open For Business. He's a knowledge sim, all about technology, mechanics, robots etc. At first I thought of him having a child with Nina, but I didn't do that. But there was some romance between them. He was even the first to know that Nina's pregnant. Unfortunately, she was carrying Don's child. But Don was busy with another woman... Kaylynn, the maid. Kaylynn just had no luck choosing a man. First Daniel, now Don... She was a family sim herself, so extremely tired to be treated like a maid that gives extra service. Kaylynn was so tired of all this that she gave up her job as a maid. Nina asked her to moved in and help around the house while she was pregnant, Kaylynn gladly agreed. On day 14 Nina gave birth to lovely baby girl Caroline. Of course, not the girl's father, but Kaylynn was the only person there with her at the moment. Daniel visited Kaylynn once, but she asked him to never come again and to forget her phone number and everything. She wanted to start fresh with no shadows from the past. Jason soon proposed to Nina. Surprisingly, she agreed. The girl needed a father. Chester really liked Nina and he wanted to marry her, but had no courage to show his feelings. They remained friends, so Chester was coming over to see Nina from time to time. That's how he met Kaylynn. Kaylynn ended up working as a full time nanny, because Nina didn't care about her daughter at all. Kaylynn was very happy to be around, because otherwise the girl would have probably starved to death. But at the same time it made her feel sad. Kaylynn wanted to have a family of her own, but it wasn't easy. She has lost her trust in men. And she couldn't leave little Caroline alone. Nina wasn't even there to see her baby girl grow up to toddler. Kaylynn was basicly the only mother Caroline actually new. So this ends the Caliente story for now. I got too far with them anyway, there are other families I want to tell about. (And see, the picture is normal! There weren't that many bad quality pictures!) Well there is one more... I'll leave you with it. This is Don's cat Tiger.
Next part should come soon because I have already played my Pleasantview 50 days each family, so I just need to arrange the pictures and type the story. I hope you enjoyed this. I can promise that it will get more interesting. This was mainly an intro, with a little of the story. Feedback is more than welcome!

Pleasantview is the only neighborhood I play and it take a long time to get anywhere. As genration past and the more kids you have and trust me my sims have lots. \:D I saw where you wrote one of your farvorites was Lilth for the Pleasants. Me too! I felt so bad for her and I disliked Angela. So in college I change ap and made her family sim to make up for the bad childhood and she had 10 kids. LOL! I hate leave her lot, she is so much fun. But I try to play them in time make everyone stay together in age. Keep up the great work! I will be watching out for your storys!
