Hello, my name is Peter Griffith and along with my mom Carol and dad James we live in a nice little town just outside of SimCity. We just moved here because my dad James is an Army Commander and he was ordered to transfer to a new base.

since my dad is in the army I usually get everything I ask for and I have to work hard to get them, but in time I get them all. I love electronics, I spend alot of time on my computer chatting and surfer the web. I love to have all kinds of electical things are the house to keep me happy and to play with.

I love electronics, I spend alot of time on my computer chatting and surfer the web. I love to have all kinds of electical things are the house to keep me happy and to play with. This is my dad Cmdr. James Griffith and he is one of the officers in charge of a special forces division that is tracking terrorist in middle eastern countries.

My dad can't tell us much about what he does but, we do know he is working towards make life here in the states safer. At the moment things are shakey in that area of the world, but we hope to have things get better in time.
 This is my mom Carol and she is a stay at home mom at this time, she wants to be here for me after school and take care of the house. She has been with my dad for over 5 years from what she has told me.

My mom takes good care of me and makes sure that I get all I need from day to day. I spend alot of time with her while my dad is out in the field or at his army base. Things were great in our new place until one day things changed not only here but all over the world. I was sitting down watching TV and the news came on and the lady on the news was reporting on things around the world. I called to have my mom and dad come in and watch the news with me. The reporter stated that a war had broken out in one of the middle eastern countries and that the US was going to be called into the battle to protect the allied country from the other.

My dad was shocked to hear what was going on so he went to the computer and checked a secure website for the government to get any info he could on war. My dad started up the computer and began looking over the website. Before he got finished looking over the site to find any info on the war outbreak the phone rang. Mom answered the phone and an army officer was on the phone and wanted my dad to report to his base as soon as possible. The war sistuation was worsening as they spoke and the US was getting ready to go into battle quickly. I was getting scare because it showed on the news how the army was starting to train soliders for the battle and I was hoping that my dad would not have to go but I was wrong.

He was be called away to command some troops in the war and he would have to go as soon as mom got off the phone. Just as I go up from the sofa to go talk to my mom, I heard a loud noise on the TV and it was that of a bomb going off in a near by city. it was so shocking to heard teh noise that I ran to my mom and asked to be helped. I gave my mom a hug and began to cry because I knew things were getting really bad and I was scared for all of us, especially dad and his troops that were going. Dad was on the computer arranging for transportation to the base. Mom and I began to cry because my dad was leaving us at home alone to go off and fight a war that he didn't start or even have anything to do with. I became very upset and sad to the point I didn't want him to go, but knew it was for the best. Dad taxi came to get him and it was the last time that I saw him and in fact I didn't get to even say goodbye because of the fact of having to leave so quickly. I pray that he will be ok and come home as soon as he could. Two weeks later mom and I was sitting watching tv when the President came on tv and told us that the war was raging out of control and that the US troops were pushing hard to get the was completed quickly. I was thing where in the world was the war going on and if my dad was doing ok over there. After we listened to the news and wanted to feel comfort about this all, the whole things would get worst before better. I asked my mom why did another country drop a bomb on us, when we didn't do anything to them. My mom said that some countries do not like us because we stand for something that they feel is wrong in their eyes. So they happen to decide to use bombs and other ways of destroying us instead of talking things out.

I understood what my mom was saying, but was only hoping that the other countries would stop destroying things and people instead of wanting to get things done in other ways. My mom heard somehitng outside like a jet engine or something to that effect and then they was a flash... The flash was so bright it seemed as if it was daytime all of a sudden, and just fast as the flash happen it became.... Dark again, in fact it was more dark that before the flash. All ofthe lights in the house were out and all the lights in the area were out too. We were alittle scared at first, but went into the house to see why the lights were off. My mom tried to turn on the tv and it wouldn't work, it was still pulled in but wouldn't come on. That was strange to have the tv work one minute and not the next. My mom went to the light switch and tried it, but it didn't turn any of the lights in the house. This was getting really strange now, mom decided to check other stuff in the house. My mom tried the stove and the fridge and neither of them were working, She finally checked the fuses and they were all fine. So we could not understand why all the electricity was in hte house was not working. I ran and checked the phone and it was dead and I was beginning to really get scared and my mom was wondering what was happening also. Her finally decided to take the car and go to the police department or find someone who can help. I went to get in to our Hummer H3 and go to the police to see what was going on in town. My mom went to turn on the Hummer and it wouldn't start. We didn't know what to do from here because it was a long way to walk to the police station, so we went back in the house to wait until something could be done. My mom said that something might have happened to the power plant in town, but that doesn't explain the phone and the car not working. All we could do is sit in the dark and wait for help. My noticed it was getting alittle cold and that they needed to eat something.

She decided to get some of our things together and have some fun by camping out in the backyard for tonight and see what tomorrow would bring. My mom and I went out to the backyard an setup the tents we have and set a small stone fire in the yard to camp our for the night. My mom wished that the tv was working in order to fine out what had happen to everything around them. The next day the a couple policemen stopped by the house and wanted to check to see if we were ok or not. They were the first people to be seen since the flash of two days before, and we were so happy. The policeman same over to let us know that all the lights and electric items for over 300 miles in all directions were not working at all. They were waiting for the government to inform them of the true cause. Two days later a couple of police came back to the house and this time they came with another man and that man was from the government with a message from James. The man said that the US was hit with an EMP charge bomb from a country that successfully created the EMP device and launched it against us.

your husband will be returned to you as soon as he can travel the distance from the base back home. The armed forces are currently unable to fight the because of the EMP charge, so we are currently helpless in what has happened.

 a few days had pasted and James made it home to be able to explain what he knew about the the EMP charge. He was informed that the EMP with stands for Electro-Magnetic-Pulse device is the cause of eveything electrical in the surrounding area not to work.

The EMP device is a Pulse that fires all computer chip related devices within it blast radius and it makes it impossible to to repair in an normal fashion. This is the reason that only battery operationed machines or devices that have no computer chip to control them are the only ones working. My mom asked my dad what do we do now, and do we move and if so where? My dad said that moving would do nothing, because everywhere around them the electric of was out or items running on it was rendered useless.

 We asked dad how long it would be like this without electric items, and he told us he did not know, but we would have to make due as long as we could until we could get some generators in order to run somethings and learn to ruff it until the US can get back on track from this attack. The story of this family could not be given an end or at less a happy one because know one "Sim" or "Human" can say if the US can total recover this the attack in this story.

The reason I wrote this story is because it could someday be a reality to not only the US but the rest of the world if ever a EMP (Electro-Magnetic-Pulse) device is made function by any other contry other than the US to use it against the human race.

A EMP charge would destory all computer chip controlled device within it's blast raise and if the device is set off 300 miles above the earths surface it would destory these items in the entire US. It render us unable to reproduce these items with out electricity and it has not only my sims scare about the outcome, but also the human race if this would ever to happen.

So this story which is more so like Sim Sci-Fi, but in our human world this is a real threat and it could happen if a device that can create an EMP charge is every lunched it could bring a country to a stand still!
