Baybridge Wheel Estates, a prefab mecca on the verge of downtown, sits ready and waiting to grow into something fabulous. This community is the latest development of Landgraab, Inc. It is here that we find Henry Detamble. Henry chose a modest little mobile home, slightly left of center, and it is here that the man with no past hopes to make a future for himself and his offspring. HENRY:
The first time I met Claire, I was tending my pathetic excuse for a garden and she came and sat down in the yard with me. I was enamoured with her glorious red hair and delicate features. We talked for hours and by the time she left, it felt like we had always been best friends.
HENRY:
In time, I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me. At first, I was afraid that the stunned look on her face meant no, but after she got over the shock, Claire Abshire agreed to become Mrs. Claire Detamble.
CLAIRE:
I grew up downtown and I hated the bustle of the place. When I first discovered Baybridge, no one lived here yet and I had all the streets to myself. I loved to walk up and down each one, pretending that I lived here. Then one day, I saw a car in a drive way...then I saw the man of my dreams, sitting in the dirt of his own little garden.
CLAIRE:
We quickly became friends and I came to see him as often as I could get away. I could not believe my ears when he asked me to marry him! Henry is such a quiet man, that I didn't realize he felt that way for me until he produced that perfect little diamond.
CLAIRE:
We planned a fantastic outdoor wedding, but a sudden downpour changed our plans. Instead, we ended up getting married inside Henry's tiny little home. It's okay, though. Married is married and WE ARE MARRIED!
HENRY:
Today is Sunday. I have to go to work in a little while, but for now, I love to just watch Claire. She is a school teacher. Third grade. I am positive that I would be smarter now if my teachers in school had looked like Claire. Claire has been so pensive lately. We've been thus far unable to conceive a child and I think she's feeling blue.
CLAIRE:
It's probably best that we are the only ones living in this neighborhood right now. Henry loves his plants and I sometimes find him outside on the porch tending them in his underwear. What *would* the neighbors think!? He's such a goof sometimes.
CLAIRE:
Dear God, please let us have a baby. Henry and I have been married for seven years now and still no babies. Henry would be such a good father and I promise to be a good mother.

Meanwhile, I'm helping God out a little bit. I started fertility treatments today...
HENRY:
Wow. What a special night. Claire and I went out for a drive in the moonlight then came back home and had a late dinner at home. After dinner, Claire turned on the radio and pulled me close to dance. As we were dancing, ever so slowly, she whispered in my ear. "We're having a baby".
HENRY:
Claire has been very restless these last few months. She is in the final stages of pregnancy and gets tired pretty easily. However, she insisted that I teach her about gardening. It is something my father shared with me my whole life so I really do love it. Claire is catching on fairly well.
CLAIRE:
Henry has been teaching me about gardening, but I'll never have the green thumb he has. My plants look great and Henry tells how wonderfully I'm catching on, but I'm prety sure he is sneaking out while I'm otherwise occupied and talking to my plants. He is so sweet.
HENRY:
When Alba was born, we were all prepared. We had her crib ready, we had her room ready, and we had our selves ready. Alba was exactly what we had been waiting for.
CLAIRE:
What we weren't prepared for was Adrienna. I had to move my toymaking bench out of the nursery to make room for a second crib. Fortunately, Sim Furniture Warehouse had a second crib just like the first one we bought 4 months ago. I am thrilled with my little girls. I think Henry is still reeling from shock.
CLAIRE:
We made it through having twin babies. Henry turned out to be an excellent father. I think he may have changed more diapers than I did! But now both girls are potty trained and life is much simpler. It's still a challenge, having twins, but it is so much easier when you have a good husband to help.
HENRY:
Twins are so amazing! I love watching them together. Here, Alba is playing with Adrienna's hair while she sleeps. Aren't they the most adorable darlings ever? I cannot believe how fascinating they are. I wonder why we haven't been able to have any more. For 2 years now, we have tried but Claire doesn't seem to be able to get pregnant again.
HENRY:
My sweet girls are growing fast and will be teenagers before long. I love them dearly, but in all honesty, I had hoped we'd have a son. I want to leave behind a piece of me to carry on my name. My baby girls will grow up, marry, and bless some other man's family, but I need a son. For me. Sadly, we have miscarried two more babies, and it doesn't look like we're going to get anymore.
CLAIRE:
After much discussion, Henry and I decided to try fertility treatments. It didn't help this time. We went to counseling, we tried sex therapy. No joy. So one night, after everything else failed, we happened on an adoption agency online that does gene matching. It seems we can adopt a baby that looks like us! We applied and were accepted.
HENRY:
After a year of waiting, we have a son! Dianna Montreal, SimState Social Services, came walking up our front walk today, carrying Aaron Henry Detamble. And my heart melted. I broke into tears. I have a son...I have a son...I have a son.
HENRY:
For the first few hours, Claire and I passed Aaron back and forth between us as though we'd never seen or held a baby before. I could hardly wait for the girls to come home from school. I knew they'd love him as much as we did.
As night falls in Baybridge Wheel Estates, the Detamble household falls dreamily asleep. All is well in the world and Henry Detamble is a happy, happy man. The twins will be teenagers in just one short year, and little Aaron will grow up and make his Daddy proud.

Watch for more on this family, coming soon.
