We decided to hold the ceremony right here in the new house. I'm really sorry you and Aaron couldn't come. Nick and Mark were here and it was good to see them. Boy are they growing up! I heard about Nick's brush with death when Grandma Darcy scared him. Good thing Aaron had that thingy from work so that Mark could resurrect him. Wow what a scare that must have been!

It's been several months now and Jerome and I have been having a wonderful time as husband and wife. I love being married to him. He got a great job as a Maitre'd in a swank restaurant and we are doing great. Jerome even has a cookbook coming out real soon. We're talking about starting a family of our own soon. Love you! The most horrible thing has happened. I was pregnant and just about ready to tell everyone. I was so looking forward to "showing"...but I woke up last night with terrible cramps. Oh Mom, I lost the baby! I am so depressed. Jerome has been so sweet. He got the first check on his book and he used some of the money to hire me a maid. We will probably try again soon, but for now, I am just devastated.

Mom is here and doing fine. We are enjoying our visit together. It has been several months since I lost the baby and I am feeling much better. While Mom was here, I had a follow up visit with my doctor and guess what!? I'm pregnant again! Mom said she might stay a little while to make sure I'm okay this time. Love bunches, Abby Dear Mom,
It was SO good to have you visit. I am doing really good this time. The doctor said I should get lots of rest so I am spending a lot of time with my feet up. The maid comes to clean and Jerome works and cooks. I am feeling good and I bet I'm going to have this baby.

Say hello to your new granddaughter! Victoria Leona Tankersly was born at 2:13 this afternoon. Jerome was home from work today and we went through the labor together. Guess what? Yep, Jerome and I are expecting another baby! I feel really good this time and I didn't even know I was pregnant until I noticed one day that my clothes weren't fitting very well. Well, I didn't make it to the hospital. I guess it's true what they say about babies coming faster after the first one. The pangs started early this afternoon and before I could even get out of bed, they were already very close together. Luckily, Jerome is good in emergencies! Dear Mom,

You'll never believe it! We got robbed last night! Right here in Stromptonville. What is this world coming to? Nobody ever gets robbed in Stromptonville. I have made a horrible mistake! I'm pregnant again, but I'm afraid this one might not be Jerome's. Nettie called and invited me downtown a couple of months ago and while we were there, I ran into Bruce Albion, from college. We had gone out a few times in college and he invited me to have a drink with him...
Well, one thing led to another and we went in one of those silly photo booths. You can imagine the rest from there, seeing the results now. Oh Mom! What am I going to do!? Jerome will never forgive me. Vicki and Houston are both blue, like their father and I can guarantee you that there is NO chance this baby will be blue, if it belongs to Bruce. I am so scared, Mom. Today was Vicki's birthday. We had a huge party for her and as, you know, it was a rip-roaring success. Right after everyone left, though, the baby was born! He is healthy and we named him James... Oh Mom, the look on Jerome's face when he saw Bruce's baby was horrible. I want to die. He hasn't spoken a word in two days. I don't know what I'm going to go. I thought of giving James up for adoption, but that really won't heal what's happened. Jerome is really hurt. I'll write more later. Love always, Abigail Dear Mom.
It's over. Jerome basically said he would never love me again. I tried to explain to him that it was a mistake and that it was a one-night stand, but he doesn't care. He said he was going to file for divorce. I don't know what the kids and I will do without him. I am so sick and depressed...please come see me. ~Abby Dear Mom.
I got up this morning and the only person in the house is James. The kids are gone. Jerome is gone. Their things are gone. It's just me and James and some of the furniture. I'm sorry, Mom. I made a huge mess of things. I never meant to. ~A Mom,
I am so depressed. I miss Jerome and the kids. It is so quiet and so lonely here. James is a good baby and he sleeps a lot. I suppose I love him, but I have to admit my feelings for him are tainted by what happened to my family. It isn't his fault, but he always reminds me of what I did. His birthday is coming up soon, I hope you and Aaron can come. I'm not planning to have much of a party, but I think I will invite Bruce. Love always, Abigail Dear Mom,
Bruce came to see James today. He didn't know I was watching when I caught this tender moment. I may have completely messed up with Jerome, Vicki and Houston, but I wonder now if I can afford to deny Bruce and James this relationship. I've been thinking a lot about Bruce lately. It's been almost three years and I haven't heard a single word from Jerome or the kids. I guess they are gone to me. Maybe it's time I move on. Love always, Abby Mom,
I guess this is my last letter home, but you'll never get it. Micah told me that you passed away and that Aaron died mourning your grave. I'll wrap things up here now, Mom. I'm marrying Bruce and we'll raise James together. Bruce and I are nearing our "Golden Years" and I guess I'll have to live them out without your sage advice. I love you Mom. I'll miss you.
