Just klick on "Get mesh at Helgasims" when it's going to be published, it's a direct link, you just need to download it and extract the file with WinRar or similar into your downloads folder usually found under "My documents", "EA Games", then "Sims2", then "downloads". But as I said, I think the Sim will work also without the mesh. Take a screenshot of her and show me when you got her, just to see if it's correctly uploaded.

But why can't you download meshes, I don't understand. It's the same as downloading creations here on TSR, plus the hair mesh is free and the recolor too.
