Hi! My name is Vid, and this is me with my mummy. Mummy loves me more than anything. I'm told I'm named after my Grandfather, but he's never seen me yet. I'd like to think he will, but I don't know. This don't seem the same here anymore..

Hi! My name is Vid, and this is me with my mummy. Mummy loves me more than anything. I'm told I'm named after my Grandfather, but he's never seen me yet. I'd like to think he will, but I don't know. This don't seem the same here anymore.. Mummy is a Very Important Person, he got to the top of his career just before I was born. I know I wasn't a planned birth, but he did enjoy the Dance Sphere so much... And Grandaddy, should have warned him about it...
Dead nanna would have said it's all his fault anyway.
She really came to hate Grandaddy in the end. This is poor Billy, he died many years before mummy had me. So, things aren't all that normal here. Guess I'll be seeing more of him in the future. I hope. Not long after I came along, Mummy noticed this statue for the first time. It just sort of appeared one day, no one knew where from. He would spend hours just staring at it, like it had some hold over him. He'd shake his head or laugh for no reason. He wasn't always happy about what it seemed to say to him. But he never stopped going back to it, and just staring.. That's when he started doing strange things... I think the demon is to blame. Glowing isn't normal, even I know that and I'm only a baby. Mummy stopped going to work, and when he wasn't having to look after me, he spent all his time in the Dance Sphere. What was he searching for? One day, I really thought he was going to eat me! It did tickle and I laughed, but I don't want to go back into the dark. Mummy needs help, and soon!
Being so small, I couldn't do much, but I have connections. This is Astra. Grandaddy's daughter. She's also my brood sister, she heard my call and went and woke her Mummy. This is my Grandaddy, Astra's Mummy. Astra wasn't certain how to broach the subject to her Mother. That they could all communicate with each other, was something the brood children had always kept silent about. It got weaker the more the DNA was mixed with humans, but it was there. Mum liked to ask questions, it was his desire for knowledge that did it, but she thought it was something the Brood Queen didn't want spoken of. " Mum... Can I have a word with you please.... In private?"
Melody wondered what was on the teens mind, but left the room so they could talk. Vidcund waited patiently for his daughter to begin. " Errr? You know Issac's boy, Vid?"
" My grandson? Yes, he's still a small baby. I keep meaning to call round, but I don't think I'd be welcome"
" Somethings wrong with him"
" Vid?" Astra shook her head.
" No, Issac. He's acting all wrong, doing things he shouldn't"
" And you know this, how?" He had her there. Here it was..
"... i can hear his thoughts....." She muttered softly.
Vidcund just stared at her for a few moments.
" Is this something you all share?" Astra nodded, her head hung low.
" It's strongest in siblings. Vid is my brood brother, so is Alan"
" I see...." he didn't know what to think then. " But you've got to help Vid! He's scared something terrible is going to happen to either his mother or himself. Issac is scaring him, and he thinks...... He thinks he's going to die"
The thought of one so small and helpless being hurt almost made him ill.
" Tell him.... Tell him, I'll deal with it"
" Thanks mum"
" Right. Now go to bed, I have some thinking to do"
 Vidcund had to explain to his wife, Melody, what he was going to do.
" They're not going to take you again, are they Vid? Not that I mind more children, I'd like another one myself, but I worry about you"
" I can't stand by and let a child get hurt. I wasn't there when Issac was growing up, but I can be there for him now"
Melody shook her head and got out of the tub.
" If you need my help, you know where I am" Vidcund followed her into the house and barely touched the food she put in front of him. Sometimes her love for him overwhelmed him.
" I know you have to do it..... I just don't have to like it" She at last said, after they'd sat in silence just looking at each other.
" I'll be fine Mel, stop worrying I'm doing this to help Issac and little Vid"
" I know, but I'm your wife I can't help but worry. You'll be carefull?"
" I will. I'm going to see Pascal" He kissed her on the cheek and quickly got dressed.Then rushed across the road to his brothers house. The lights were off, but after banging on the door for five minutes, a tired looking Pascal opened it
" Do you know what time it is Vid!" Vidcund pushed his way in and was followed into the kitchen.
" I didn't come here to talk about the time, Pascal. What do you know about Demon Possession?"
Having been dragged out of bed, Pascal couldn't believe what his brother was asking him.
" Demon possession? Are you nuts? This is the Twenty-First century, not the Dark Ages!"
" I Know! And aliens don't exist, and we both have children to prove otherwise! Are you going to listen or not? " So he told Pascal what his daughter had passed on to him, about his son Issac, the strange statue and his weird behaviour with the baby.
" And you think I can help?" Vidcund felt like hitting his brother, but kept his temper in check.
" Look, do you think I'd have come here in the middle of the night if I thought you weren't the one to help? All those occult books we collected over the years, must have something about how to deal with this? I need to get help, how do we go about that?" Pascal wasn't happy, he remembered all the hours they had spent reading those books are trying out the things writen there. Nothing had happened, or so they had thought at the time. But thinking back now, could that have been what had brought them to the attension of the Aliens?
" Yeah, we have to concentrate our thoughts" He finaly said and held his hands out. Vidcund looked septic but held his hands out as well.
" Now what?"
" Just concentrate" Back in his own home, Melody couldn't help worrying about Vidcund. She just knew something was going to go wrong!
