This is the Rhodes family, Sunny and Rainee Rhodes and their son Dusty.

This is the Rhodes family, Sunny and Rainee Rhodes and their son Dusty. Ever since Dusty had been born, his mother and father were more interested in each other then they were with him. His mom did not pay a lot of attention to him, focusing more on keeping his father happy. And his dad was more interested in promoting his career, then his son. He often sat by himself, lonely. His parents where never worried about even if he ate, so he only ate what he prepared himself. He was not much of a cook, tonight he is having burnt spaggetti. Alone as usual, while his parents had went to a party. He cleaned up his dinner plate and waited for his parents to come home. He was still watching television when his mom and dad came back, but each were in their own thoughts. Neither of them noticed he was still up at 2:00am. It was like he wasnt even there, they only cared about each other. His mom was still in bed when he got back from school, his grades were bad. Too tired from waiting up, he passed out in the yard. After his mom found out about his grades, she grounded him plus punished him by making him clean the house. Dusty was very upset. He just did not understand why his parents love him? Then his dad got mad about his grades when he got home from work, telling Dusty that he expected more from a son of his. ***Right*** thought Dusty, ***like he ever notices me at all, if he really cared he would help me with my homework!*** After the repo man came, Sunny was all the more focused on getting his promotion. Finally after a whole lot of hard work, his dad got the promotion. Rainee was so happy for her husband becuase she knew he had been wanting the promotion. They decided to celebrate by eating out at their favorite restrauant. As they sat and reminised about the old days and talked about the new job.... Poor Dusty was sitting at a table by himself, all he could do was look at his parents and wish his parents cared for him. Later that night as he put himself to bed, Dusty wondered what he could do to make his parents notice him and love him. ***i have no idea what they want from me, its like they dont care if i even die*** On the morning of his birthday, he woke up early. He played quietly with his toys with just his old bear for company. Dusty noticed that mom bought new wallpaper and things now that dad is making more money. He did not fail to notice that she put up wallpaper in every room but his. Later he tried to wake up his parents, but they were hard too wake up. When they finally did wake up, dad was too busy getting ready for work and mom was making the bed and cleaning. Dusty was disappointed they did not tell him happy birthday. After school, Rainee made Dusty practice the piano, while she looked up some new recipes to make for her husband. Rainee told Dusty, "I have to go get your dad from work, then we have to go to the grocery store to get a special meal becuase your dads boss is coming over for dinner. This is great, maybe your dad will get another promotion." So Dusty had another party where he was grew up alone. Dusty thought ***this is only going to make me stronger, I dont need to depend on anyone but myself.*** After his dads boss left, his parents were so excited about how it went, it was all they could talk about. Neither of them noticed that Dusty's birthday had passed. Dusty went to bed hurt because they completely forgot his birthday, no presents, no card, no happy birthday. nothing at all. The next morning, Sunny tried to tell Dusty he was sorry about not having a birthday party for him, and explain that he had alot on his mind with the new responsiblities at work. "I am just trying to make a good impression on the boss, son. I know you understand", Sunny told Dusty. "I just wanted to tell you that we are sorry your birthday passed and...." Dusty was tired of hearing all the excuses, he had heard them before. He ended up getting in a big fight with his dad. And was almost late to school. After school, Dusty tried talking to his mom. She lectured him for getting in a fight with his dad, and about how they expected him to behave. She told him that his dad was very important and could not have any distractions that might affect his job. Dusty told his mom he understood completely about how important his dad's job was and told his mom he was sorry. His parents left to another company party, leaving Dusty alone like usual. As Dusty did his chores he thought about what his mom had said. ***All she cares about is my dad, my dad's job, what my dad need, want my dad wants...***thought Dusty, ***She did not even ask me if i was doing better in school, she doesnt even care about me*** As Dusty was doing his homework, he thoughts were still on his parents. Around 3:00 in the morning, his parents were still not home.
***They are not worried if I am okay, what if a burgler came in, they would not even know, what if he killed me or kidnaped me.***

Dusty came to the conclusion that he could not take it any more. If his parents did not care about him, then he would not care about them either. The next day, while his parents were shopping, Dusty decided to run away. When Sunny and Rainee woke up, they realized Dusty was gone. Sunny tried calling all of Dusty friends, but soon realized he did not know who Dustys friends even were. Rainee drove all around town looking for Dusty, but she did not know where his favorite places were or where he would run to. They soon realized their terrible mistakes they had made with their son and how much they must have hurt him to make him run away from them. The cops found him hanging out in the alley by the liquer store with some older high school ruffins past curfew, they picked him up, ran a missing persons check and took him home. When the police dropped him off at his house, Dusty begged for them to take him to the group home with the other boys he was with but the cop said "no, if your parents care enough to file a missing persons report on you, then they must love you and want you home with them. These other boys parents do not." Dusty walk slowly towards his house, not sure what his parents were going to do but what the cop said made sense. He was completely surprised when his dad and mom rushed outside to give him a big hug. Crying they told him they were sorry and promised that things would be different from now on. Sunny said, "What good is it to have a job and promotions if your family is falling about. I have been selfish, and have not paid much attention to you and your mother. I was wrong son." His mom also apologized about the way she had treated him. Rainee said, "Dusty I have always loved you, I just failed to show it to you, I always thought you knew how much you meant to me. You always acted so grown up, I guess I just figured you were older then you really are. I promise not to make that mistake again!!I never meant to hurt you, you are my first born and I love you." Sure enough things had changed, Dustys parents no longer go to partys, they now eat dinner together as a family, and they tell Dusty every day how much they love him and what he means to them. Rainee spent a whole week painting and decorating Dustys room. They were one big happy family and then.... Rainee had another boy, Rocky. Dusty could not be happier to have a baby brother. He was sure he was going to make a good big brother and he would make sure his parents were good one to the new baby. Dusty was finally happy. He knows his parent care about him alot and love him more. He is doing great in school and looking into colleges. His room is great, even thou he has to share it with Rocky until the new addition to the house has been built, which might take a while since Sunny dont spend so much time at work now. Sunny, Rainee, Dusty and Rocky will live happily ever after.

    Dusty was having a bad childhood, he felt his parents did not care or love him, poor baby, but finally he got throu to them and they are one big happy family. This is one of the TSR Challanges. I completed the challange but also changed the story so Dusty could have a good life. (I think he is a cutie and want to use him with other sims)
