"Well, Crookshanks, looks like this is it," said Marianela Galdos to her cat, as they arrived to a shabby lot, after many days of travelling and stress. "We are on our own now."

She sighed. It was too hard for her, after a life of luxury and confort, to start afresh, with no friends, alone, with only her cat to keep her company.
Crookshanks didn't even bother to answer with a purr or a meow. He has exhausted, after the four days of wandering they had just lived.

Running away, taking trains and busses on this and that direction, walking under storms, sleeping under trees, or on the trains when possible, without any real rest, always fearing to be reached... and, what mattered most to him, without the large amount of food he was used to receive day after day, ever since he was a little kitten and had arrived to the Galdos Mannor... that was certainly no life for a cat, Crookshanks thought.
Marianela was pretty tired as well. But she knew she couldn't show it: she had to plan what to do now...

And she had no idea at all. She had no real skills (she was an heir, who had her life already solved), little money, and only a small shack to live in.
She was the oldest of three sisters and used to live with her father and a housekeeper, who had always been like a mother to her.

When her father, Mauricio, told her that his best friend was going to marry her, she nearly fainted. That man, John, had a foot on his grave! It had to be a joke. But it wasn't. And Mauricio made it clear: she had no choice, for it had been decided ages ago that the heir would marry that man and she was it. The legal and religious ceremonies would take place the next week.

Marianela knew her dad was really stubborn, so she decided to run away that very night. And so she did, without nearly anything, but some money she had saved, her cat and the family locket, that her mother had given to her before running away as well.
She was pretty social, so soon enough she met some of the people around that little beach town. Her best friend was Cristina Sifon, a weblog writer.

"Come on, Marianela, you have to meet my best friend. He's a good man, he's clever, hard worker, funny... I bet you'll fall in love eassily with him. I would marry him, were it not for my mom, who needs me around."

And that led to the first argument... Marianela didn't thought it as a good idea. She felt pretty unceirtain at that moment.
-.-.-
But, after many weeks with the same proposition, she agreed to meet Santos (that was the name the game gave it... isn't it just awful?!).
"Oh, my gosh!" thought Marianela. "Cristina was right. If only I could get to know this guy better!"
-.-.-.-
Santos, meanwhile, was thinking the very same thing about that black haired girl. Cristy had hit the nail with that idea... Now he had to find a way to get closer.
As the months passed, Marianela kept getting promoted. She could hardly believe how talented she really was for scientific stuff. Even though she had taken the job out of desperation, she had proved to herself how nice it really was.

Her relationship with Santos was growing really strong, they were out nearly every weekend and couldn't stop talking to each other.
They decided to tie the knot.

It was a private ceremony, on Marianela's back"yard", just the two of them, with the waves as only choir.
After some months, Santos was really proud of what he had achieved with his small family. The shack was now a proper house. Marianela couldn't compare it to her old house, but was really happy to have what she had now. A small, but confortable two-story house, with enough rooms for a normal family to live in quite confortably... And a lovely kitchen whose windows had a lovely view.

She loved to cook (now she was a decent cook and rarely burnt the food) and watch the waves through the glass, as they stumbled on the sand.

"To think I had nearly nothing when I arrived here..." she thought. "And now I feel richer than before," she smiled, thinking of both her husband and the baby she was carrying.
Santos didn't know yet he was going to be a father, but was particularly happy.

He had achieved one promotion after the other, and now was on top of the criminal career. Of course, Marianela didn't know that he was a criminal. He had kept that as a secret and didn't want her to find out.

To her, he was a paintor and used to go out to sell his paintings (he did so, but never during his work). That was the version she believed in.
"Hey!" protested Santos when Marianela rushed into the bathroom. "I'm taking a bath, you know, Nela!"

She couldn't answer.
"I'm sorry, love. But there was something I couldn't tell you before: honey, we'll need to get a crib soon. I'm pregnant."

Santos was so surprised he couldn't say anything just then. That explained the munchies, why Nela was so tired lately, and lots of other stuff.
Later that night, Santos gave it a good thought.

He was going to be a father. There was a child coming around. He couldn't bear the idea of being arrested in front of a child of his.
So he did what he knew was the right thing to do: he quitted his job.

He found a job as a Secondary teacher, but he didn't really like it.
So, he got a new one in the local hospital. He had always wanted to be a doctor, but it had been difficult back when he was a teen.

His parents never really wanted him to go to college, they thought it was stupid. And, due to economic problems, he had had to work to help support his parents until they died. And then, it was too late to start a career as a physician. Or so he had thought...
Meanwhile, his wife was happy at home (NOTE: I know, it's a fat cat. I just love fat cats on the game :$), enjoying her pregnancy and her maternity leave.

It was so different to what she had expected... Not at all easy, not really solved... but she loved it. Her "new life" was simply the best thing ever. She couldn't help but feel sorry for her family, that had to stick to old fashioned society rules.
One night, Marianela woke up because of the pain and contractions. Santos was out, on the hospital, so she was all by herself (Crookshanks didn't really count).

After a long time, and pain, she was able to held her child in her arms.
It was a beautiful baby boy, with her black eyes (Which I hope will pass to all heiresses!). She named him Alastor, because of an old tutor of hers. Alastor was a very sweet baby.

He didn't really cry, neither demanded too much attention from them. He was happy to be held, but was content if he was left on his crib too.

He simply loved water. Bath time was his favorite time of the day.
After a little thought, Marianela decided to head back to work. A nanny could babysit Alastor, he was so well behaved that there would be no problems there, she tought.

But she was wrong. The babysitter was decided to kidnap the baby, and would have do so, were it not for Crookshanks that nearly left her blind.

After that terrible sitter was put in jail, Nela and Santos decided to turn some days, so she could keep on working. She could use her vacation time, or he could take a day off once or twice.

"Of course," he said, "there's always a chance to ask one of our friends to come to take care of Alastor. Sweetie, why haven't you told your family about our kid?" he asked all of a sudden. "That be a good choice too, you know, ask them to..."

Nela interrupted then.

"No, Santos, it's not. They will never learn where I am, if I have a word on it."

And she walked away from the room.
To cheer her up, and to see if Crookshanks could breed, Santos bought a beautiful kitten. Her name was Jadis, for she was so white, he couldn't think of something else but a 100-year lasting winter. Jadis and Crookshans seemed to be very good friends from the start. Pretty soon, it was time for Alastor to grow up. He turned into a sweet toddler... in desperate need for a new look. There you go! Now he does look sweet, doesn't he?

Alastor had taken a special liking to Jadis. She loved him as well. They spent a lot of time together, when she was a kitten and after she turned into an adult.
Marianela was teaching him every skill he needed to know.

The kid was sweet and really intelligent. His first word was mom, obviously, but he learned quite fast to say lots of things.
One day, Marianela woke up feeling pretty sick.

She knew that feeling quite well. But didn't want to believe it... yet.
Meanwhile, Alastor grew up and became a child. His parents were both proud of him.

So was Crookshanks. "Another human to feed Jadis, our babies and me with treats," he thought.
Our babies? Yep. Jadis was expecting kittens, and had three beautiful kittens. Unfortunately, there was no real space at home, so Marianela decided to give up one of them (and the mother) for adoption and gave one to one of her best friends, Denisse Jaquet. Nice way of spending a pregnancy...

Building up gardening skills. Marianela's quite a good gardener. She's nearly reached the golden badge.
Whether she liked it or not, the time had come to give birth to the baby she had carried those months. A baby? Actually, two babies. She had carried twins. That explained why she had been extra tired during this pregnancy.

The baby girls were named Adelaida and Amanda. Santos could hardly believe he had three kids now. He was happy, he had chosen what was the best for him and the ones he loved.

And Marianela was happy too: her life was different from what her father had decided. And much better. It made her feel complete. Perhaps... well, perhaps she should call her family and see what had happened to them. She'd think about it.
-.-.-.-.-
End of first part, as the heiress has been borned. I don't know still which one will be the heiress, it all depends on their personalities.
Part 2:
Which of the girls will be the heiress?
Will Marianela and Santos fulfill their LTW?
What happened to Marianela's family?
