Oasis Island
Thanks for checking out the second part of my first story. If you haven't read Oasis Island: The Beginning, now would be an awesome time to do so (It's just a click away!). Again, sorry for the typos. I really can spell, I promise - I just type too fast and hit the wrong keys. Well anyway, happy reading!
When Renee woke up the next morning, she half-hoped that yesterday had just been a really strange dream. She hesitated for a few minutes to get out of bed but soon forced herself up and got dressed. Renee felt a little more relaxed and very well-rested after having a good night's sleep. She didn't know what time it was but she assumed it was pretty early in the morning. Even though the air still carried a bitter wind, the sun was shining brightly through white clouds mocking the storm that had passed overnight. When she walked out into the hallway, she found Deacon sitting on the bench directly outside of her room. He looked uncomfortable; like he had been there for a while.
"Hey sleepy-head," he greeted her, "Way to waste your morning away! We've been waiting for you."
"What?"
"It's still early but you're the last to get up," Deacon explained, "Danny woke me up like REALLY early this morning; like WAY before the birds. He didn't sleep much I guess; said this place is making him crazy. He was outside for hours this morning searching for a way out of here. The rest woke up quite a while ago and have been trying to help. Well except Tatum; she's spent most of the morning doing her hair."
"What?!" Renee's stomache jumped. She had felt responsible for getting them into this mess and now she was the only one not helping to get them out.
"Don't worry about it," Deacon stood up and assured her, "None of us have even come up with anything. We're dumber than we thought. Danny even kept getting lost outside. He said he kept going in circles; winding up here no matter which way he went. That kid's crazy I tell ya."
That didn't really make Renee feel any better. She asked, "Where is everyone now?"
"We were all planning to meet in the dining hall when you got up. I said I'd get ya," Deacon explained. He paused and scratched the back of his head, "But, uh, there's something I wanted to-" "RENEE!" Tatum shouted as she approached, "There you are! I've been waiting for you for like ever."
Renee wasn't sure what Deacon wanted to say to her, but she could tell by the sudden annoyed look on his face that now wasn't the right time to do it. She turned to Tatum who looked very eager. "Okay Renee," Tatum exclaimed with excitement, "Deac and I came up with this GREAT idea last night-"
Deacon tried to speak, "Actually, I didn't agree-"
"Okay so listen," Tatum interrupted, "Deacon is gonna flirt with me like all day today right infront of Danny so he'll get jealous-" Deacon huffed in dissaproval and Tatum responded, "Oh Deac, don't act like it's hard. It's not like we haven't been there many times before."
Renee shifted uncomfortably. Deacon looked even more uncomfortable as he closed his eyes and heavily sighed.
Tatum continued, "So then Danny will realize just how lucky he is to have me. He's being totally out of line. This will set him straight. But I need you to like say something to Danny; like point out what an awesome person I am and how Deac's gonna snatch me away if he doesn't shape up, okay?" Renee listened, amused. This sounded completely ridiculous. She looked at Deacon. His expression was pleading with her to turn the idea down, but she thought of something better. "Well, I don't know about that. But I DO think the idea you have will work without me," Renee smiled, "It's brilliant. Seeing Deacon and you together will be sure to make him jealous. If I say something to Danny, it might make him suspicious."
"What?!" Deacon said shocked.
"You think so, Renee? You're probably right," Tatum said excitedly, "Okay! This is gonna be great, let's go! Follow me." She quickly turned around and headed down the hallway as the other two followed.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Deacon asked Renee desperately as they reached the dining hall. She just laughed and followed Tatum into the kitchen. Talia and Danny were sitting at the kitchen table discussing ideas about how to find a way to get to the others at the Island Hotel. The two of them seemed to be the most anxious to get out of the house.
Danny was very intimidated by Talia. He was naturally a shy guy but around her, it seemed one hundred times worse. He had never talked to her much in school. He could only remember the one time he bumped into her in the hallway and caused her to drop all her books; he muttered a weak 'sorry' and offered to help but she just glared at him, silently gathered her things and strutted away.
Today, it felt different talking to her. She approached him and said she admired how he had been taking the lead and trying to get them out of here while everyone else just seemed to be taking their good old time. This behavior was unexpected of him. He was used to people always calling him a pushover. It felt good to hear otherwise. "What is going on in here?" Tatum yelled in an angry tone when she walked into the kitchen.
"Uh," Danny responded, not sure why she was yelling, "We're talking-"
"DANIEL MILLER!" Tatum screamed, "Are you trying to make me angry?!"
"No." Danny simply answered, confused.
"What ARE you doing then?" she shouted.
Danny answered innocently, "Fred showed us how to make some soup and now we're just-" "Just trying to make me jealous! Is that it, Daniel!?" Tatum screamed.
"What on earth are you talking about?"
"I'm not stupid!" she replied, her tone still harsh, "I know very well what you're trying to do!"
"I'm not doing anything!" Danny justly defended himself, "I really have no idea what you're talking about!" "I don't want this anymore!" Tatum screamed and threw her engagement ring hard upon the floor. It skidded awkwardly across the stone and landed next to the fireplace.
"What the hell did you do that for?!" Danny was shocked.
"BECAUSE YOU'RE BEING A JERK!" Fred was poking the fire. He was in his own world; not even aware of the shouting that surrounded him or the ring that had landed next to his feet. "Come on," Deacon whispered to Renee, "Let's get out of here."
He pulled her into the dining hall. "She's nuts!" he exclaimed when the door closed behind them. He laughed, "And what were you playing at going along with her crazy idea? Thanks a lot, Renee."
She laughed.
"Come on," he grabbed her by the hand, "Let's go explore this place and find somewhere that's lunatic free."
He had been trying to get her alone since the moment he targeted her. It was proving to be a more difficult task than he had thought. He couldn't get the image out of his head of Fred kissing her hand in the dark hallway the previous night. The smile on Renee's face as he did so bugged him even more. Deacon never would have guessed that Fred might even come close to being his competition. 'He's such a loser,' he had thought, 'What kind of a name is Fred anyway?' He wouldn't even consider the thought that Fred might "win".
He grabbed her hand. Deacon rushed down the hallways dragging her behind him.
Most of the rooms they found were just filled with bookcases and old furniture. A short while later, they came to an unfamiliar door at the end of a hallway. They went through it and stopped when they reached the top of a staircase.
"Beat you down there!" Renee challenged him and ran ahead. "WOW!" she exclaimed when she reached the bottom first. They had found a grand room that was as wide as the entire house. The marble floor was spotted and covered in a thick layer of dirt. The wall panels were accented in strips of real gold that had faded from the years of neglect. Beautiful gold sconces hung about the room; their candles were lazy and lopsided. Although the dirt covered its real beauty, Renee thought it was the most gorgeous room she had ever seen. She was in awe, "This room is amazing!"
"Yea?" Deacon said not really seeing anything special about it. "Yea! I bet this was a ballroom," Renee twirled in a circle, "I can see the women in their fancy gowns dancing with their handsome escorts." She was lost in a fantasy. She gazed at Deacon who looked completely unimpressed. "Sorry," she said coming back to reality, "I've just never seen a room like this before. It's just beautiful."
"Don't apologize. It's cool," Deacon shrugged. He really didn't care. He made sure Renee was looking at him before he spoke again, "Now I wanted to ask-"
"DEAC! ARE YOU DOWN THERE?!" someone suddeny yelled from the top of the stairs.
"WHAT NOW?!" Deacon yelled, frustrated at being interrupted again.
"QUIT GOOFING AROUND," It was Danny, "WE'RE READY TO MEET IN THE DINING HALL! NOW!"
"COMING!" Deacon yelled and sulked up the stairs. Renee hesitated to leave the room but, although relunctantly, followed him to the dining hall. Fred watched Renee and Deacon finally enter the hall. She immediately approached Fred for the first time that day and asked how he was doing.
"I'm good," he answered and curiously asked, "Where were you guys just now?" He hoped his question had sounded casual.
"Just looking around," she responded, "We found this gorgeous ballroom in the basement of the house! It's been neglected; everything is filthy. But it is still just gorgeous! I think Deacon thought it was pretty dull but I could've stayed down there all day. I'm sure you'd really like it too. I can't even imagine what it would look like if it was all cleaned up! I'll have to show you some time before we go - if we ever get out of here, that is." He took in every word she said with interest. She looked different to him today even though nothing about her appearance had changed. She seemed more comfortable and open to him.
"I'd really like that," he said, "And don't worry. I'm sure we'll get out of here soon enough." "Thanks for being so nice to me," Renee smiled, "I mean, I AM the reason we're stuck here."
"Nobody blames you," Fred assured her, "And it's really not so bad anyway." He smiled. "Dude, I was like this close to reeling in Renee before you interrupted me," Deacon used his hands to demonstrate a distance.
"That's not very close," Danny laughed, "It's never taken you this long to get a girl before."
"Yea but with her, it's different," Deacon said, "I'm taking my time."
"Do you seriously think anyone is going to believe that?" Danny shook is head, "Really man, let it go. We have enough drama here already. She really doesn't even seem that into you."
"Oh yea? You just wait," Decon responded, "I'll show you all." "COME ON!" Talia suddenly yelled. She had been extremely quiet all morning and very tolerant of all the fighting but now, she had had enough. She was tired of everyone dilly-dallying around. She wanted to get back to her friends. And soon.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and blankly stared at her.
She lowered her voice, "Can we just please talk about what we're going to do?!"
They all silently took a seat at the table. "Well, I'm just going to start off by saying I tried following the path we came here on and I just kept ending up back here," Danny explained. He saw Deacon screw up his face and Danny responded, "And I am NOT crazy, Deac. There are too many paths. I don't know how we found this house in the first place. I'm surprised I even made it back here."
"So what are you saying," Decon asked, "That we're stuck here forever?"
"No I'm saying that we need to come up with a better plan," Danny was frustrated. He just wanted to get out of here and felt stupid that he had no idea how.
"We'll have to find some maps in the house and hopefully one will show us where we are," Fred suggested, "There's a lot of books about the island too; it might help to research it. Renee what do you know about the island?" Renee's heart jumped. 'Nothing,' she thought, 'I don't know anything. Pryia's the smart one.' She felt anxious and started breathing heavily.
"Renee?" Fred said when she hadn't answered.
"Um, yea," Renee quickly searched her mind for anything- anything at all. She responded, "I know that it's big." 'Big? Wow, great answer Renee,' she sarcastically mocked herself in her head. Everyone was looking at her completely perplexed. She was embarassed and started to feel hot. Why did Fred have to ask her that now?
"It's big but there's not much here," she suddenly remembered something Pryia had told her, "They've researched it for many years and discovered the island inhabits many new species of wild animals. There was apparently evidence of a war on the island many years ago but other than that, no human civilization. They only recently built the bridge, the hotel and a few museums as a vacation attraction. There's still a lot of mystery behind the island. This house really isn't even supposed to be here." "Oh great," Danny sighed sarcastically. The room was silent for a minute.
"I'm hungry," Tatum randomly said, "And cold."
Danny thought, 'Well, put some clothes on then,' but he just rolled his eyes and said, "Can we PLEASE stay on subject?!"
"She's right though," Fred said, "We're going to be here at least another day. We should figure out what to do for food. And there's not much water stored here either."
"Why can't we just leave now?" Tatum whined.
"I told you!" Danny raised his voice, "I tried finding the road again and I just kept ending up back here!"
Tatum cursed Danny under her breath.
"Okay, so we do need to get some food and water for now," Renee said, "Who's going?" "Totally me!" Deacon shouted, throwing his arms awkwardly into the air, assuming he would be accompanying Renee.
"I think Fred should go too," Danny suggested, "He's good with that stuff." The others nodded in agreement and Deacon's hands sunk back into his lap. Deacon was about to protest and insist that Renee went with him instead of Fred when Danny began to speak, "We need more fire wood too. I'll get that-"
"Are you sure you want to go by yourself?" Deacon laughed, "You might get lost."
"Shut up, man," Danny retorted dully.
"Well, I'm not going out there, that's for sure," Tatum said roughly, "It's freezing cold and I can't carry heavy stuff anyway. Plus the ground is soggy and everything's wet and I just spent a long time fixing my hair-" "I'll go," Talia quietly inserted. She hadn't had a chance to get a word in edge wise. Nobody was staying on track; she thought all of them, other than Danny, were treating the situation too lightly. Talia didn't really have any ideas either; she just wanted to do something - anything! - as long as it brought her closer to getting back to her friends. She thought it might be good for her to get out of the house anyway.
"Oh okay," Danny just said. Tatum looked dissapointed that Talia so willingly volunteered but she fought the urge to argue with nothing to back her up. She had never suspected she and Danny would get this deep into a fight. She no longer had her ring. She didn't even know if he had picked it up. Most of her anger had escaped her the past few days and she was starting to run out of steem. Her head hung low as she remained silent.
"I'll stay here with Tatum," Renee said, "We'll prepare some food and start searching through some books."
"Good," Danny said, "Let's get going then." "I'll meet you outside in a while," Fred approached Deacon, "There's some things I wanted to do first."
"Whatev," Deacon snapped at him and left the room. Talia and Danny began searching outside right away. They secretly decided to follow the path again, casually picking up wood along the way, to see if they could get back to the road. Earlier, Talia had thought that perhaps on Danny's previous adventure that morning, his lack of sleep had caused him to lose his sense of direction. She, however, took it back when she herself felt completely lost in the woods.
They had been walking for what seemed half a day. They didn't talk much. It was freezing cold outside but all of the walking was causing them to sweat. Talia was losing energy. "Do you mind if we rest?" Talia asked as they reached a small clearing.
"I'm sorry," Danny said, "I should've suggested that earlier."
"It's okay," Talia shrugged and turned around to face a patch of flowers that were growing wildly despite the season. "Daisies," she exclaimed, "They're my favorite flowers!" She started picking some.
Danny laughed to himself. They were lost in the woods on a strange island and she was picking daisies. This was the first Danny noticed Talia show excitement or interest in anything at all. He had avoided talking to her because she seemed like she really didn't like any of them; which she really didn't. She had been so quiet and seemed so angry about the situation. Beside that, she had always ignored him in high school and he didn't expect that to change. He had always thought she hated him. Danny was glad to have some hope it wasn't true.
He decided to help her pick some daisies. "AHHHHH!" Talia suddenly screamed.
She had just noticed a wolf approaching behind Danny. He looked up at her, startled, and then followed her frightened gaze to the creature behind him. "HOLY-" Danny cursed and jumped into the air.
Talia dropped her flowers and began running in the opposite direction. Danny didn't hesitate to follow. Some how, they managed to get back to the house. They ran full speed the entire way. They were both out of breath and still in shock as they climbed the stairs to the gazebo in the backyard of the mansion. When they reached the top, they just stared at eachother, and then simotaneously started to laugh.
"This is so stupid," Talia was laughing so hard, tears spouted from her eyes. She tried to speak between her bursts, "We're lost - on an island - stuck in a house - and we don't - know how to get home - and the wolf!" She couldn't talk anymore; laughter overtook her speech and she keeled over.
It wasn't really that funny. But they had run out of their other emotions. It all just felt like a very odd dream. They laughed the minutes away. Talia caught her breath, "I just need to sit down for a minute before I go back in."
Danny stayed with her. In the clear day time, they could see a good distance from the height of the gazebo. They noticed a huge lake was not too far from the back of the house. In every other direction, all that was visible were trees. They both silently gazed out at the mass of water.
Despite the day's journey, they still had no idea how they were going to get home... But the breeze carried their worries away for the moment as they enjoyed the peaceful view. Renee had been cooking all day with what little was left in the kitchen. It had taken her longer than she had expected as Tatum hadn't contributed any help at all.
"He doesn't know what he's losing," Tatum kept repeating throughout the day. She had seen the ring was still abandoned by the fireplace but she chose to leave it there. She felt after the scene she had caused that morning, it would be stupid of her to take without Danny's offering. She glanced at it every once in a while, tempted to snatch it back and pretend it all never happened. Renee didn't have much time to think about how they were going to get out of the woods. Her imagination would occassionally carry her away to the glamorous ballroom, back when it was shiny and full of life. She hummed while the images twirled around in her mind. Her thoughts didn't have much time to stray though as reality caused her to concentrate on her cooking. She was constantly trying to recall the simple recipes Fred had explained to her the night before when they were up late in the kitchen. She wasn't doing too well as her memory failed her. She didn't really realize it, but all she could remember was the way his green eyes gazed at her, reflecting the warm glow of the fire's soft light. "Oh no," Tatum suddenly burst out, "I'm not going to have a wedding! I'm never going to get married! I'll never get to wear my twelve-hundred dollar diamond accented wedding dress! No flowers! No cake! I will DIE ALONE!" She started to cry. It all sounded a bit exaggerated.
Renee was caught off guard. She put down the dish she half-heartedly prepared and sat down next to Tatum. "You're not going to die alone," Renee comforted her, "You just need to talk it out with Danny when you're both calmed down."
"I don't know what to say to him," Tatum sniffed, "He doesn't listen to me anymore!"
Renee hesisted. Then said, "Maybe you should just listen to him." "What?!" Tatum looked offended and Renee immediately regretted saying what she did. Tatum appeared shocked and angry. Renee looked down and avoided eye contact.
"You're right," Tatum finally spoke, "I guess."
Renee glanced back up at Tatum and noticed she looked sad. Tatum had never been one to show many other emotions beside anger. Renee was surprised that Tatum accepted her advice so well and that she actually seemed just a little greatful. "But I don't know how to approach him," Tatum said, still lightly sobbing, "What should I say?"
Renee shrugged, holding back an answer, not wanting to push her luck too far. She suggested, "Maybe you should sleep on it."
"Good idea, I'm just too frustrated" Tatum quickly stood up, "I'm going to bed."
Renee didn't mean for her to go right that moment. It was still light out and they hadn't got any research done. She didn't argue though and let Tatum lave. For some reason, she wasn't too worried anymore. Fred finally joined Deacon outside. He was excited to discover an old well at the top of a hill near the large lake behind the house.
As they tackled the slope, Deacon asked, "Dude, what the hell were you doing all morning?"
"Just some stuff inside the house," Fred said as he reeled a bucket full of water out of the well.
"I was picking berries and mushrooms and %$#& all morning," Deacon pulled a large sack from the inside of his jacket and held it open so Fred could see the contents, "I don't even know what the hell half of this stuff is! It's probably @%#! poisonous." "Now tell me," Decon crossed his arms and addressed Fred suspiciously, "What were you doing?"
"Looking around the house for stuff. Cleaning. Organizing kinda," Fred tried not to sound like he wasn't being helpful and changed the subject, "I saw the ballroom you guys found this morning."
"The what-room?" Deacon responded cocky.
"The one you and Renee found this morning," Fred reminded him, "She couldn't stop talking about it all morning. She really loves it." "Oh yea, the ballllroooom," Deacon awkwardly stared at Fred remembering how he had accidently seen Fred kiss Renee's hand the night before. He had been snapping at him all day for this reason. Fred didn't think much of it. He had been used to being treated that way back home and he certainly didn't care about Deacon enough to complain to anyone about it. Deacon couldn't stand the thought that such a loser could get a girl before he did. 'There's no way that's gonna happen,' he thought, 'Not if I can help it.'
"Well, I gotta go," Deacon broke the silence, "I got stuff to do." "You can get the water," Deacon said as he turned and walked away then growled low enough so Fred didn't understand, "since I got all the crap this morning while you layed around the house. I'll show him." Fred had no idea what was on Deacon's mind. And even if he should have just a little, he didn't care.
He continued his chore of fetching enough water to last them a couple of days if they needed it. He spent the rest of the afternoon attempting to catch fish from the lake with a make-shift net. He got one, but it escaped. He was tired and decided he was done for the day. He collapsed comfortably in one of the large chairs when he arrived back at the house. Renee had just sat down next to Fred when Talia and Danny finally came inside. Renee had expected to be scolded by them for not researching or finding any useful information, but they both seemed unusually content.
"Tatum went to bed already," Renee informed them, "I guess she's been sleeping all this time."
Danny just nodded as he took of his coat. He looked around the room and asked, "Where's Deac?"
Fred shrugged, "I haven't seem him all afternoon." Danny and Talia joined the other two. They didn't seem so anxious to Renee anymore. She was glad the day's time caused them to calm down. They told her and Fred about their adventure in the woods and how they "escaped the jaws of a hungry wolf".
"Danny screamed so loud like a girl" Talia told them laughing, "and he almost pushed me over while running away from it."
They laughed and barely noticed the sun had left them. "Well we're nowhere closer to getting out of here," Danny said as he stood up and yawned, "But at least we won't freeze to death or die of starvation. We're safe for now."
"Yea, unless that wolf hunts you down," Renee laughed and Talia and Fred joined her.
They went up the stairs to where the bedrooms were. Talia was so tired she accidently opened the door to Deacon's room.
A high pitch scream reacted from inside followed by a loud thud. Talia screamed, "OH MY-! I'm sorry." Danny Turned around as Talia slammed the door shut. "What's going on?" Danny asked, "Is he okay?"
"Uh, yea, he's fine," Talia caught her breath. She looked nervous as she continued, "He was uh, just uh, sleeping and yea, I walked in on him and he just got scared and uh, um, fell."
"He fell? Stupid idiot," Danny laughed, "Now HE really screams like a girl."
Talia laughed nervously. Fred sat Renee down on a bench outside their rooms. He spoke, "I was wondering if you'd eat breakfast with me tomorrow morning. Then there's something else I want to do."
"Sure," Renee accepted.
"I put some water in the wash room over there," Fred told her, "If you want to freshen up."
"Are you implying that I smell?"
"No - I just thought-"
I'm just kidding," Renee laughed, "Really thank you."
She smiled as he said goodnight to her and went to his room. Renee hadn't had a shower since the previous morning. Although the cold water gave her whole body goosebumps, she felt better and refreshed. She invaded the wardrobe and put on the only clean and decent pajamas she could find. She was startled by a sudden knock on the door. She slowly stepped out into the hallway. "Will you come with me?" Deacon grabbed her hand, not giving her time to answer. He led her down the stairs and through a now familiar hallway. She knew where they were going but she had no idea why Deacon was taking her there. He opened the door and helped her down one more set of stairs. Renee was speechless. The room that was once dirt covered and neglected now sparkled from the ceiling to the floor. It looked completely different than it had earlier that day; Renee's imagination couldn't even picture it this beautiful. The candles' warm light danced setting the romantic mood that filled the entire room. The floor was so shiny; it reflected everything in the room making it look twice as large and twice as beautiful. She ran to the middle of the floor and twirled in a circle. She felt a little faint while she took in the beauty of the room.
Deacon watched her. He was expressionless. "I can't believe you did this for me," Renee finally spoke, "It must have taken forever." Deacon just gave her a weak smile.
She liked Deacon; he was funny and quick, his wit was devilishly charming and he certainly wasn't bad to look at- not at all. But Renee had never expected him to do anything like this. She suddenly looked at him differently; he was sweet, selfless and overly thoughtful. Her smile would not give as she stared at him, trying not to look too infatuated. Taking the opportunity, he held his hands out to her and asked, "May I have this dance?" She took his hand in one of hers and put the other on his shoulder.
He placed his hand gently on her waste. She shivered.
They glided weightlessly across the floor for what seemed like an entire day. She delicately rested her head on his shoulder as they continued to slowly sway.
'I got her now,' he thought. "It's getting late," Deacon broke the silence along with the mood, "We should probably get back upstairs before we can't find our way through the hallways."
Renee almost protested but she knew he was right. The house was hard to get around in the day time let alone in the pitch black night.
She held his hand the entire way back. Renee was silent though; she didn't know what to say and her imagination was still dancing. When they reached her bedroom door, he hugged her.
"You're so sweet. I didn't even think you liked it that much," she said dreamily, "I never would have expected you to do that. Thank you."
"Well, I thought maybe we-" he talked so quietly that Renee didn't hear him.
"What?"
"Well, I just-," Deacon tried to talk but he couldn't bring himself to say it. He really DID like this girl. She was different than others he had been with in the past. He really wanted to invite himself into her room but there was something holding him back. His mind was racing in so many directions. He closed his eyes trying to calm it and said, "I just wanted to say that was fun and uh, goodnight Renee."
He leaned in to hug her...
She kissed him.
She was so gentle. It felt amazing to him. At first he was shocked and almost pulled away, but he gave in to the exciting feeling and fiercly kissed her back.
She suddenly realized what she was doing. She couldn't believe she initiated it. She had only met him two days ago. Renee suddenly pulled away right at the moment he didn't want her to the most. She lightly kissed him on the nose then without another word, she dissapeared into her room, smiling widely as she did, leaving Deacon alone in the hallway. Deacon turned around to see Talia had been standing across the hall as she just finished up in the wash room. She shot him a suspicious look. He gazed back at her with an expression of embarassment, although he tried to cover it up with a crooked smile, and began to open his mouth in a desire to speak. She quickly held her hand up and shook her head saying, "I didn't see a thing. Don't involve me." He thought she appeared disgusted. He tried to speak again but she ignored him and looked away yawning as she headed into her bedroom. She was surprised to see that a neat bouquet of daisies had been placed carefully beside her bed. Oooooooo!

5.0 once again. Your story is amazing. It's funny that Deacon's actually falling for Renee, but I feel she'd mesh well with Fred more. That poor guy; he put in all that work and Deacon took credit for everything. I'm already trying to think of what's going to happen next. I would have to say that Fed's my favorite character.
I can't wait for the next part!

And where did you get Renee's hair? I love it! I think Renee and Fred should be together.
I'll definately be looking for the next part!

I love your screenshots. I just have to tell you that. You're storywriting is perfect and I can't wait to see what happens next. I like Deacon the best, I just find him the funniest and the most desperate. And I have a feeling that you are doing something like 'The Breed' and the wolves are more significant, but then it would change into a horror thing. I don't know! Great story!!!

Wow, that was great! But it seemed to me like Deacon wanted Renee at first mostly to be another notch in his bedpost... now it seems he's actually starting to like her for real. But Fred is so much better... I'd really like to see them together. And I also like the idea of Danny and Talia! But I SO want to know what Deacon was up to to make him scream like that... unless, like I suspected, Tatum was with him. Oy. Lol, you've really got me thinking, and that's a good thing.

Wow!Nice twist..maybe Danny will end up with Talia and hopefully Deacon will be either with Tatum or alone and Fred and Renee will be together
Cool story!

I'm rooting for Fred and Tatum can take a hike! Great story though, definitely going to look for the next part. You are a gifted storyteller. It's hard to tell that this is the first story you've posted from the two parts I've read.

Another lovely addition of Oasis Island! Oh man, I am so mad at Deacon right now. True, he's very funny, but I wanted Fred to have the opportunity to impress Renee... Fred is so sweet.
Oh well, I'm thinking that everything will work out in the end! Awesome storytelling, I am excited for the next part!

It sounds like everyone is in love with the wrong person! In my opinion, I think Danny and Talia should be together, that way, Cyd and Melissa won't have to be broken up, and I think Renee should be with Fred, he's such a nice and gentle guy, and he seems to really care for Renee, and if you ask me, Deacon and Tatum should be together, they're both rotten! I hope I'm not dissapointed!
nothing else to say,

Another fabulous part! I think Talia walked in on Deacon while he was getting undressed and she saw more than she wanted to. If you get my drift! Lol
I think Renee looked really pretty in that nightgown, I'm a bit mixed actually, because I want Renee to be with Deacon but I also want Fred to be happy as well, and I'm kinda feeling sorry for Tatum I mean she thinks she's a goddess and then her fiance breaks up with her, I know I'd be confused and upset after something like that happend to me!
Brilliant chapter and I absolutley can't WAIT for more!! Please hurry with the next chapter, (but take your time obviously ^_^)
Fab story!!

Another amazing chapter. I thought they where gonna find a vampire or something in the basement. I don't like Deacon he isn't right for Renee, Fred is. But I'm confused, what was Fred doing all mornig and did Deacon really clean the ballroom even though he didn't care about it? Tatum, well it's nice she took Renee's advice but I like her better as a mean shewitch. And also I really like the thing with Danny and Talia and the daisies. Can't wait till the next part!

I wanna be mad at Deacon but can't, he really didn't say he did it he just didn't tell her he didn't do it. Maybe Renee will be good for Deacon. I do feel bad for Fred. Poor guy. Poor Renee, if I'm this conflicted I can't imagine how she's gonna feel when she finds out. I'm headed to read the next chapter. Great job.
