Welcome to Susan's story part 2. This is... I promise the final part of these characters. I love them to bits, but I think their time in stories is done. Anyway enjoy. By the way you might want to read part one before this, although it is called the sequel to sam cains' story just to make it easier to find!
Sam: "I see you're pregnant?"
Susan stared at him intently, she closed her eyes tightly and opened them again as if hoping he would disappear, but when she found him still standing there still, she resigned herself to the fact that he was in fact... real.
Sam: "So who's the father?"
Susan: "Err... what?"
Sam: "I asked who the father of the baby was?"
Susan: "Oh, his name is Jason... What are you doing here? How did you get out?"
Sam: "I had a really good lawyer, and after a few years they let me out... I'm surprised you didn't know I mean it was Stacey that set me up with him... didn't she tell you?"
Susan: "No she didn't" Sam: "Well, now you know. So are you going to introduce me to this... what's his name... Jason? And can I see me beautiful children?"
Susan: "Of course, you will be a bit surprised with Garnet, she is going through a cosmetic surgery phase."
Sam: "What!? You have been letting her get cosmetic surgery? Why?"
Susan: "She wanted to lose trace of every bit of her mother in her. Is that so bad?"
Sam: "I guess not, but I can't believe you let her do it. So can I see them?"
Susan: "Yes, I'll just get them." As everyone gathered in the living room and got to know each other again. They heard screamings and yells for help coming from upstairs, they all hurried to see what was wrong. By the time they got there, she was holding in her arms a newborn baby.
Susan: "Caroline... that's what I'll call you... Caroline."
Jason: "I love that name! Can I hold her?
Susan: "Of course, here take her. I need a rest."
Sam: "Wow, she's gorgeous..."
Stacey: "I know, aren't you glad you got over dad, Susan?" A cold silence filled the room, everyone felt uneasy apart from Stacey who had a smug look on her face.
Morgan: "Err, awkward. I'm leaving now."
Garnet: "Yeah. Me too." Everyone filed out leaving Susan, Sam and Jason. Susan: "Jason, this is Sam... The children's father."
Jason: "Oh right! And the guy you fell in love with not long before me?"
Susan: "Er, yes but that was before... does it matter now?"
Jason: "Of course it matters, especially when you invite him into our home!"
Susan: "I didn't invite him, he just appeared!"
Sam: "If I may cut in... I'd say it doesn't really matter, since she clearly loves you now Jason. Where's your problem? Where's your competition?" Jason cast Sam a contemptuous glance before he replied
Jason: "I have no competition... I just don't want Susan to leave me for some low-life criminal like you!"
Sam: "LOW-LIFE CRIMINAL?"
Jason: "Yes that's what you are isn't it? Killed your wife so you could save another woman's life and..." Susan: "STOPPIT." Sam and Jason both cast her furtive looks before letting her continue.
Susan: "Jason... Sam isn't a low-life criminal... he was just in love and you, I'm sick of you. I'm sick of your pretending to everyone that we're Ok! We are not Ok. I know you don't love me and you know it too. Your just with me because you got me pregnant and feel you have to DO something about it... take care of me and Caroline, well you know what? FORGET IT! I don't need looking after, and I don't need you." Jason: "Susan, don't do this to me! I love you. I need you." Susan shot him a distasteful look
Susan: "You don't love me! And you don't need me, you just want to see Caroline. Well here take her!" Jason looked up hopefully and saw Susan's disgust.
Jason: "I don't want to take her Susan, this isn't about her. This is about us and I love you, Caroline was just the icing on the cake."
Susan: "Well, I have never loved you Jason! I love Sam, you were just to fill up the time until he got out!"
Jason: "Susan, that's sick! What were you going to do if he didn't come out? Pretend to love me forever?"
Susan: "No I guess I would have eventually found love for you, I would have continued to look after his children like he asked me to."
Jason: "I know what this is about! This is about his children and how you don't want to let them go!"
Susan: "Don't be absurd! Sure I love his kids but I wouldn't deprive myself of love for you because of them!"
Jason: "I know this is the reason you have forsaken our love... I will never forget you Susan, I'll take Caroline with me, since you and Sam won't want her." He shot Sam one last look full of complete and utter hatred before shuffling out like a beaten dog. Morgan strode into the room.
Morgan: "Susan, I need to tell you something... err something that dad can't hear..."
Susan: "Oh, Ok. Sam wait here I will be back in a minute."
Morgan: "Actually she might not, you might want to wait in the living room."
Susan: "What is it? Is it something bad?"
Morgan: "Depends on what you mean by bad..."
Morgan: "It's just that... well, Garnet, she's... pregnant."
Susan: "What? How? Who? Why hasn't she told me?"
Morgan: "Because she was scared of what you would do. She confided in me and I promised not to tell, but I had to."
Susan: "Who's the father?"
Morgan: "I don't know, I don't think even she knows."
Susan: "How many guys has she been with?"
Morgan: "I don't know! But it could be two, three. All I know is that it's more than one."
Susan: "I have to talk to her about this!"
Morgan: "NO! You have to wait till she is ready to tell you. I just wanted to give you the heads up." Garnet sat on her bed. Thinking. She had to tell Susan sooner or later... she was only going to find out some horrific way otherwise... or she could just run away, keep it a secret from everybody, apart from Morgan who already knew... she would tell them what had happened to make her run away... She had no other option, she had to tell Susan. She could help her... Susan watched Garnet approach her timidly. She knew what was coming. Thank God Morgan had warned her.
Garnet: "Susan, I have to tell you something... and I don't want you to get mad but..."
Susan: "Stop, wait a second, do you want to talk somewhere private?"
Garnet: "No, that's Ok..." why did she have the feeling that Susan already knew? "Susan, I... I'm...I'm pregnant..."
Susan: "Oh thank God! I thought you were about to tell me something terrible!"
Garnet: "But I did just tell you something terrible... Susan I have a baby growing inside me!"
Susan: "I am aware of what pregnant means Garnet, I have been pregnant myself!"
Garnet: "Good now you're mad."
Susan: "You wanted me to be mad at you?"
Garnet: "Well I didn't want you to be so... understanding." Tears started flooding down her cheeks, from embarrassment, fear and uncertainty.
Susan: "Well, do you want to get rid of it?"
Garnet: "What?"
Susan: "Because I can get you an appointment at a private clinic at the end of the week if you want..."
Garnet: "No I don't want! It's my baby!"
Susan: "So it's not that bad then is it? That's why I am not mad."
Garnet looked lost.
Garnet: "But what am I going to do? My schoolwork? Everything?"
Susan: "You have to give it up." Susan replied simply, while trying to seem understanding. Garnet: "But, my life... what will I do? I won't be able to get a job, or date... or...."
Susan: "Everything will be fine Garnet, you have me to support you, your father, and your sisters and I daresay your brother would help you out too..."
Garnet: "I suppose, but I have always wanted to be able to support myself, and this baby would change all of my dreams..." Susan: "Well there's only one decision left to be made, isn't there? Get rid of the baby, or don't get rid of the baby. It's your choice and I am not going to pressure you into making a decision."
Garnet: "But I need to be pressured, having no pressure is what makes decisions even more difficult to make."
Susan: "I know, but it's a decision you have to make by yourself. It's your life." Stacey was ready for yet another one of her wild parties. It was amazing how many friends she actually had, always going out with different people must be fun. Susan realised how much she missed her old life before the 'Erina' situation. Still, she had Sam to look forward to now... Stacey knew it was wrong to lie, but she could hardly tell Susan she was visiting her adoptive parents'. She had been 'seeing' her adoptive father, it wasn't her fault, there had always been some 'thing' between them and she just couldn't keep it locked up. I know it sounds disgusting, but she managed to rationalise it in her head, so it seemed normal. Susan, though had finally found him, her true love who had been cruelly taken from her. Through his journey through prison and thrown unceremoniously back into her life. She was pleased about it of course, but perhaps Jason was right... was she only in this because she loved the girls? Or did she really love Sam... sometimes she felt it was impossible for her to ever find a Mr. Right, she just didn't think she could feel love, apart from a mothers love for her children, and to be honest the girls were her children. Weren't they? When Stacey returned home, she just let the tears roll gently down her stricken face... how could this have happened? Why was it always this way? Susan: "Stacey! Did you have a good night? We did!"
Stacey: "Yeah, mine was... it was... well it was... it was terrible!" She burst into tears once more.
Susan: "Stacey what happened?
Stacey: "Well, I'll tell you but you are not going to like it... it sounds disgusting, but I loved him..."
Susan: "Stacey, what is it? You can tell me, I love you."
Sam: "If you want I can go?"
Stacey: "No, you're Ok dad. It's just... My adoptive dad, Zach, I have been dating him for a while now..."
Sam: "Now I've heard everything!"
Susan: "Let her finish."
Stacey: "I thought I was in love with him, we had always had this connection, but that's where I have been going. No parties, just visits with him. I know I should have told you before, but you would have been disgusted with me. Well, tonight he told me that he had to finish with me, Lorraine has managed to conceive, so tonight he abandoned me. I could have given him what she never could."
Sam: "If you ask me sounds like she knew she knew she was slowly losing him and managed to get this pregnancy..." Susan: "Well she didn't ask you, and I'd appreciate it if you kept your ludicrous comments to yourself, Stacey's distraught enough as it is. She just lost the man she loved."
Stacey: "I think he's right though, it seems like something she would do. I just need to show it to him and I'll have him back."
Susan: "Stacey, it's over. She has now given him what he's always wanted, he won't want you anymore, even if he does find out the truth."
Stacey: "No, I can't believe it. I won't believe it!"
Sam: "Susan's probably right though Stacey. I know it's horrible to admit but it's probably best for the both of you if you let it go. Find someone your own age, someone who is worthy of you."
Stacey: "Daddy, I love you." Stacey may not have been happy with the decision, but she came to the slow realisation that they were probably right. She had to find someone else so she could move on... start over and begin a family of her own. Garnet had come to a decision and she approached Susan cautiously, she was still rather unsure but had to make her decision now before she changed her mind.
Garnet: "Susan, I want to get rid of it."
Susan: "Get rid of what?" Garnet looked at her reproachfully "Oh right, are you sure?"
Garnet: "Yes I have my middle ages for children I shouldn't waste these years having them."
Susan: "A wise outlook but are you happy with your decision?"
Garnet: "No but it's the best I can make out of a bad situation..."
Susan: "I'll make an appointment." Susan called Jason over and gathered him and Sam in the living room where she decided she needed to get some things off her chest They gathered on the sofa when Susan began telling her, her innermost thoughts, secrets and feelings.
Susan: "Jason, when you said that I was only with Sam for the kids I began to have doubts about mine and his relationship, was I just with him for the kids? Then I thought of you and our daughter, it made me realise that I love you, but I love my children more..."
Jason: "Your children? You only have one!"
Susan: "No Jason, this is my family. And they are all my children, I just need you to understand that my love for them is more than my love for you. And Sam I realise this might hurt but I do not love you as I used to... I'm sorry but since you went away I have moved on, I will always feel something for you but it will never roar back into a blaze of love. You can leave now I understand you want your kids, I will miss them but I had to tell the truth. I am ready to let go of my old family and start with my new one." Tyler automatically opted to move out with his dad. Well, you had to feel for him living in a house full of girls. Garnet refused to leave, this was her house and Susan was practically her mother. She liked everything how it was, and she promised she would visit Tyler sometime. Morgan stayed too, but that was kind of obvious, she was closer to Susan than Sam. Although Sam was her father. Susan was Erina's sister and Morgan could feel her mother's love from Susan. This was where she belonged. The biggest shock came later, however, when Stacey announced that she too would like to go and live with her father.
Stacey: "Susan, you have been like a mother to me and I love you. but I need my father, you have given me all the help you could to make me move up in the world and I appreciate it. I really do. But now, I need to learn some things from my father, I can't have lived with just girls all my life, it's weird... I'm sorry. I'll miss you."
Susan: "I'll miss you too, but I am glad you are making a decision that will make you happy. I am proud of you." But they weren't seperated for long as a joyous celebration brought them back together... Yes it was Susan and Jason's wedding, they were finally married and there had been so much drama for it all to end up here The End
