It was the the beginning of summer in Belladonna Cove, and Liam was glad to eventually see the sun; not only because warm weather cheered him up, but also because most of his work came in the summer time. Liam was a handyman, he could literally do any job around a home that needed doing and to the rich residents of Belladonna's finest homes, he was indespensable. For some reason, pool cleaning or repairing seemed to be what most people wanted doing and therefore, summer was when he was most in demand.

Liam was a handyman, he could literally do any job around a home that needed doing and to the rich residents of Belladonna's finest homes, he was indespensable. For some reason, pool cleaning or repairing seemed to be what most people wanted doing and therefore, summer was when he was most in demand. One thing that was taking the shine off summer a little this year though was the fact he would soon have to move, over the winter the previous owners of his temporary home had sold up and moved to Riverblossom; the new owners couldn't move in for a few months, and so Liam had been asked to stay there until they arrived. For a young man who normally lived in a trailer park this was quite an experience. Anyway, he knew today was the day the new owners arrived, The Millwards. He knew nothing about them other than their surname, and he assumed they were wealthy seeing as they could afford this house. As he lay there pondering about what they would be like he heard a car pull up outside; he jumped to his feet and moved towards the window to catch a glimpse. When he got there however, Mrs Millward had already come through the front door and began to make her way upstairs, Liam just caught a glimpse of her from behind as she strutted up the winding staircase; 'young' he thought to himself, certainly much younger than Mrs Johnson had been anyway. 'And darling, do find the staff and ask them to bring our bags inside' her voice shouting down the stairs distracted him, 'and quite a stroppy thing' he again thought quietly to himself. 'Will do darling' he heard the reply come from outside. Within 30 seconds Mr Millward had come through the front door and spotted Liam, he walked straight over to him 'Hi, I'm Jeremy Millward, I assume you are Liam' he offered Liam his hand to shake. Liam took his offer 'at your service sir' he smiled, 'I heard your wife ask for the bags, would you like me to put them in the master bedroom?' Liam knew his place, and he knew his job, he also knew how to get off to a good start to ensure his continued employment here. 'Oh that would be great Liam, then you can go home, I'll call you as soon as I find any problems that need fixing, I've heard you're handy to have around' Mr Millward almost smiled. Liam nodded 'Call me anytime Mr Millward, I hope you like your new home'. Half an hour later all the bags had been moved into the bedroom, Liam wasn't sure where Mr Millward had got to so he entered the sitting room where Mrs Millward was reading the paper. 'I'm all done with the bags Mrs Millward, anything else you need?' he asked. 'No thankyou, but i'd like to see you every Monday and Thursday to clean the pool.' she replied with her demand without even raising her head, it was almost as though he didn't exist. 'Sure thing Mrs Millward, I'll see you Monday' and with that he left to go back to the trailer park he hadn't seen in months. One person he was glad to see there was Jessica, she had been his best friend since high school, and although she had been to see him at the house, there was something lovely and homely about her trailer that he had missed. Of course, he had his own too but he had dinner at Jessica's most nights. 'So, the new family moved in' he began 'oh really?' Jessica replied 'and?' 'well, to be honest, the woman seems to be really rude, I mean I am used to rich people and their bad manners but she doesn't even look at me, in fact I have only seen the back of her head' Jessica laughed 'Oh dear, doesn't sound like you'll have the best time when you're working at their house then!' he shrugged 'what do I care, I work, they pay me, I leave, I dont have to like them'. Monday soon came around and Liam headed back to the Millwards, as he stepped into the back garden he saw Mrs Millward in the hot tub 'Good morning Mrs Millward, do you mind if I get on with cleaning the pool?' Liam asked, 'No no, go ahead' she replied, again without even looking at him. He muttered an insult under his breath and got to work on the pool, he was dreading having to ask her to move while he fixed one of the vents on the hot tub. Eventually he had to though 'OK Mrs Millward, I'm all done with the pool now, I just need to drain the hot tub to fix a vent, shall I come back later?' she shook her head 'I'll get out now' she said 'I need to do my yoga anyway' and with that she began to move from the warm water. As she emerged from the hot tub he saw her face, and front view for the first time 'WOW' he thought, he had to fight his urge to say it out loud. She was stunning, high cheekbones, full lips, olive skin and an amazing figure. 'Thanks Mrs Millward, I'll be as quick as I can' he managed to say eventually. When he got home that night he ran into Jessica outside 'Hey you' she said smiling 'Hey Jess, you'll never guess what' he replied 'probably not!' 'stroppy Mrs Millward is a stroppy HOTTY, and I mean hot, like, almost as hot as you!' he smiled. Jessica walked past and ruffled his hair 'Almost you say?' she replied laughing as she sat on the swing next to him 'You know, some people have everything and aren't happy' he continued 'I mean, she is rich, has a beautiful home, a husband who's successfull, she's gorgeous but she is one of the most rude, miserable people I have ever met' Jessica shrugged 'A perfect life hey, and all we got is a trailer' 'hey, we have a trailer EACH' he laughed in reply. Unfortunately for Liam, Mrs Millward was doing most of her business from home so she was always around when he was there to carry out his duties. There was something about her though, he just couldn't take his eyes off her; when she was working in the study her sheer concentration amazed him, he would always find himself having a sneaky look through the gap in the door. and when she was doin her exercises he always made sure he had to make several trips through the sitting room, just so he could catch a glimpse of her bare stomach. He wondered if she ever relaxed, ever let her guard down, ever even laughed or smiled. She was always 'on form' it seemed she never had a hair out of place, her make up was always perfect, she always smelled good and she never, ever made herself appear like a mere mortal in front of the staff. A couple of months later there had been a power surge through Belladonna and most of everyone's electrical equipment had suffered, therefore Liam was rushed of his feet with work; he hadn't got to the Millwards until late and at 11pm was just about finishing. 'OK Mrs Millward I am going now, I'm all finished' he shouted, he didn't get a reply. No sooner had he got out of the front door than he realised he had left his tool kit upstairs, so he headed back to the kitchen. He was distracted though by music coming from the spare room, there was never music in this house; his curiosity got the better of him so he went to investigate. He almost fainted with shock when he saw what was going on, there in the back room was Mrs Millward, in her pajama's, her hair scruffily tied up, singing and dancing to her hearts content, he smiled to himself, he KNEW she had to have a relaxed side, he cleared his throat and she stopped abruptly. 'Oh Liam, I thought you'd left' she said blushing as she set the microphone down. She looked at the floor and shuffled her feet, this was the first time he'd seen her not self assured and in control, he realy felt for her, he could tell she was embarassed, so he took his chance to speak to her properly, he stepped forward. 'You shouldn't hide that talent Mrs Millward, you're very good' he began, and in response she beamed a big, genuinely happy smile, it was the first he'd seen from her 'You really think so?' she asked, he nodded 'I really do, you should go to the open mic night Downtown, you'd wow them' she shook her head 'No I couldn't, Jeremy doesn't encourage it', suddenly the expression on her face snapped back to it's usual uptight yet confident expression, as if she had realised her guard had gone too far down 'anyway, goodnight Liam, i'll see you Thursday'. He didn't push her any further, 'goodnight Mrs Millward' he said as he left.
