I was here to get Makenzie and I wasn't going to leave without her. I was going to give her the cure and I was going to destroy the Count. He wasn't going to hurt anyone any longer. Especially Makenzie. I finally found him on the upstairs balcony and confronted him. "Where is she? What have you done with her? You're miserable little existence just wasn't good enough was it? You had to take a perfectly innocent girl and ruin her life! I'm here to see you never do it again!" "Shut up kid, I was easy on you once but I'm not going to be so generous again. You have no right coming into my home accusing me of destroying your friend. Do you think I really meant to hurt anyone? Do you think I could possibly want to make everyone else as miserable as I am? I'd rather die than hurt anyone else!"

"But you still did it? And now I'm going to grant your wish." "Sebastian, wait!" It was Makenzie. She looked terrible, like she hadn't eaten or slept in weeks. "Sebastian, what are you doing here? I told you not to come."

"I've come to rescue you from this life. I've found a cure for this, you don't have to live like this anymore... or with him." "But Sebastian, you don't understand. I want to be with him. He didn't mean to hurt me, it just happened." She explained to me everything he had told her, about a myth about some Elders or something like that. She was talking crazy. "Please, understand. He told me there was a cure but I wouldn't take it until I could clear his name and help him get to the bottom of this. I've agreed to help him destroy the Elders." I had to believe her. So I told her I had the cure for her, and that I had an extra, just in case. I told her the Count could have it. "Listen, Virginia. Before I do this... I wanted to tell you... well, how sorry I am that I ever hurt you. It was never my intention. I cared for you, I really did. I didn't understand yet what was happening to me so I could never explain it."

"I know Gary. I'd always heard of the Elders and what they could do but I guess I just never believed it."

"I want to right this Virginia. I need to find out more about them, about what they're capable of. Will you help me? I need to end this tyrrany."

"Of course. We are all in it. The four of us. And I think I know of a few others who'd be willing to help." She quickly took the medicine once she knew we would all be working together. She said all she wanted more than anything else was to be with the man she loved without having to hide. I told her I understood... probably more than anyone else. "This is it Makenzie. I can finally be free of this curse. I love you." The Count took his medicine next. It reacted differently on him. It seemed to suck the life right out of him. As he rose into the air there was an aura about him, something I hadn't seen with the other two. Maybe there was a stronger hold on him than any of us understood, a hold that wouldn't let him be cured. I could only hope it hadn't killed him. Without him there would be no way to stop the Elders. "We did it. We can finally be together and not have to hide. And I guess I can't call you Count anymore."

"Call me Gary." "Now Makenzie, you need to go. You need to stay with Virginia and Sebastian until I can learn more. It'll be safe there; it's not safe for you here anymore. They know about you and they know we've been cured. Organize the others; tell them what the plan is and get them ready for a revolt. I will meet up with all of you once I've learned more. Be careful, all of you. And please, be on your guard. We are in uncharted territory now. There is no telling what the Elders are capable of, or what they're willing to do."
