Good evening. My name is Sebastian Vamp. Two years ago my best friend was bitten by a Vampire. Since then she refuses to see me; she is afraid she will turn on me too. I've since fallen in love with a Vampire who refuses to marry me for the same reason. To get her back I have only one choice. To understand a Vampire, I must become one. Here is my story. I always had a bit of a gothic side, a rebelious streak. No job, no money and no cares. I'd play cards at the local dives every night to make enough money to pay the rent. That's when I saw her. Makenzie was her name. Makenzie Monroe. The most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes on. I wanted to know what brought such a beautiful woman to a place like this. She said she liked the thrill; living on the edge. She came from a wealthy family and they didn't like her hanging out in this dive or any other like it, that's why she did it. She needed to break free and she found her wings here. She was good too, she knew all the tricks. She was the toughest competition I'd faced. And I wanted to know more. There was never anything romantic between us, but she quickly became my closest friend; the only person that ever really understood me. Of course hanging with a crowd like ours takes its toll and after a while it's bound to come back and bite you... in more ways than one. She never even saw it coming. Of course I tried to find her but I never had any luck. A few days later I got the call. It was Makenzie. She said she could never see me again, said she was afraid she'd hurt me and that she couldn't live knowing she'd hurt her best friend. She told me that I needed to forget about her and move on. But of course I couldn't, and I wouldn't. I was devastated and I was angry and I knew what I had to do. I had to find the Count and persuade him to bite me too. It shouldn't be too hard, he seems to like what he does. Once that happens, she'll know she will never hurt me. Then we can be together for eternity, and no one can take that from us. No one. I went all over looking for that Count. Every place you could go Downtown, I went. At the gaming center I saw the Countess Virginia. I figured she had to be just like him; they were all the same. They just wanted blood, wanted to feed. She'd know where he was hiding out... she probably lived with him. I told her who I was and what I wanted to know. She listened to my story and she said she understood. She said she remembered Makenzie, even tried to help her. "It takes a long time to accept the way we've become, but she'll be okay after a while. She'll understand that she won't hurt you unless she wants to." She told me to be patient and she'll come to me. When I told her about the Count she didn't hide how she felt. "How could he?" she exclaimed. She told me that sometimes when the Count sees a girl he thinks is beautiful, he'll make her undead like him so that he can have her for eternity. It made her sick. Needless to say she didn't know where to find him, but she guaranteed me Makenzie was not with him. "He moves on as soon as he's made his mark. He gets bored with them and goes to find another. I would know; I was one of them." She wasn't what I'd expected at all. She told me her story, how she was just as innocent as Makenzie. She was out with her friends when the Count saw her. He approached her and began to charm her, and of course she fell for his charms. He really had a way with words. She thought it would be cool to have a Vampire for a friend. But when she rejected his advances, he flew into a rage. He said if he had to be punished for the way he was then she deserved to suffer the same fate. The rest was history. We started to talk to each other every day on the phone. She seemed geniunely concerned about Makenzie. She said she saw her every once in a while and she'd keep me updated on her. We started going out together at night, mostly to the park. When I got to know her I realized how much fun she was. She was just like anyone else, just living a different lifestyle and suffering the stares and insults of others. It wasn't fair, she was too good a woman for that kind of suffering. She looked so young, and so beautiful. It wasn't long before I fell for her. I never thought I would fall in love with anyone, but she got me and she got me good. But she was afraid, just like Makenzie was. She couldn't be with me because it wouldn't be right, she wouldn't allow me to be shunned like she was. I couldn't take it, I wasn't going to lose her too. I knew what I had to do. I was back to where I was in the beginning; with the same plan. I sought out the Count. I told him what I wanted, that I needed to be like him, that I was in love and the only way to be with her was to be like her. That I'd lost the two women in my life and I needed them back. "Hmmmmm, interesting" he said. "What's in it for me? Obviously I would love to make you one of the undead but I don't usually get people asking me to become undead. So that's why I want to know what I get out of this?" I told him anything he wanted would be his. He told me the Gypsy wouldn't give him a Magic Lamp since he'd made so many people suffer. I told him one was his if he made me a Vampire. "I can't do it in front of all these people. Be here tomorrow night, same time, same place." We had a deal. The next morning I called the Gypsy Matchmaker. I told her I was in need of her services. She had already brought me one lamp and I knew that was the only way to get another. Now I just had to wait. She sent me her typical signal before she left. She left two this time, I think she knew one was going to be a gift. If she knew who it was for she'd probably turn me into a frog. Oh well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her I guess. Now just to get it to the Count. That night...

"Listen kid, I'm going to make a deal with you. Since you gave me the lamp, I really can't see cursing you with this horrible life. Your precious love doesn't know this but the Gypsy Matchmaker carries cures around with her for Vampirism. She won't give me any for the same reasons she wouldn't give me a lamp. Go to her and get some for your girl."
The next morning I went looking for the Gypsy that so far had been so generous. I was hoping she'd continue to take pity on me and help me some more. I told her I needed some Vampirocilin-D. I explained to her that my love was a Vampire and that more than anything, she wanted to be normal again, but that she didn't know there was a cure. I told her I wanted to be the one to tell her and take care of her. "Here you are, my child," she said. "Use with extreme caution, for the wrong amount can make your love a Vampire for all of eternity, without ever a chance for cure." I told her I would be careful and follow the directions to the letter. This was it. The cure I'd been looking for. Now to find Virginia and tell her that we can finally be together. After trying for a week, she finally agreed to come over to my house. I told her the story about the Count and what he told me about the Gypsy. Then I gave her the gift and did something I never thought I would ever do. I asked her to marry me. "I never knew! You did all that for me? But why would you want to marry me? I'll always be known as the Vampire and shunned, I'll never be allowed to forget, and neither would you. Why do you want to put up with that all your life?" "Because I love you. I've loved you since the moment I met you, and I don't care what anyone else has to say. We'll leave this place if we have to. We'll start fresh, start a family. I can't live without you; my life would mean nothing." "Yes! Yes I will marry you!" I told her about the risks. "Are you ready for this?"

"I've been ready for years."
"Here goes nothing..." All in an instant she drank the potion and began to convusle and was raised up over the ground, and I began to panic that this can't be right, we must have done something wrong and that I'd lost her forever. Then almost as quickly as it had begun, it was over. She was transformed and she was amazing. It was when she looked at herself in the mirror that she said she'd begun to forget what she looked like. She couldn't have been more beautiful. I told her that, too. I told her that I thought she was beautiful before, but she was stunning now and that she never had to worry about what people thought of her ever again. We would leave this place and I would take care of her, and she would never have to suffer another day in her life. Life couldn't have been any sweeter... for either of us. For eternity.
