Here's my new series! I had the idea right before my old computer crashed and had to wait to get a new one before I could actually write it! I hope you enjoy it! And I apologize for the plumb bob's, the toggle isn't working because I haven't reinstalled any of my expansion packs yet. Enjoy!

Here's my new series! I had the idea right before my old computer crashed and had to wait to get a new one before I could actually write it! I hope you enjoy it! And I apologize for the plumb bob's, the toggle isn't working because I haven't reinstalled any of my expansion packs yet. Enjoy! Let's see, where can I start? Well, my name is Eliana Montgomery, formerly Eliana Harding. My lying, cheating, no good, dirty husband left me on my own not long ago without a penny to my name. Yup, you guessed it, he was the rich, accomplished husband and I was his pretty little trophy. Well, not anymore. I learned my lesson and now I'm starting over. I found a small starter house in the newspaper. I didn't have much money so I couldn't be picky, but this wasn't even close to what I was used to, but it had the necessities... I guess. In my old world a necessity was a $40,000 car and a designer bag. It looks like I'm going to have to get over that pretty quickly. The house didn't even have heat. Nothing like freezing in the middle of winter without a heater. At least I had a fireplace in the bedroom so I could sleep, but the fire was always out by morning and it was horrible having to wake up in the cold. The first thing I buy when I get a job is a heater! I didn't even know how to cook for myself. How was I going to survive? I found an old bookshelf in the basement, luckily with a little bit of dusting and some heavy lifting I was able to get it into my living room... if that's what you could call it. At least that gym membership I used to have came in handy. There was one book about cooking on it. It was old but at least it taught the basics. But as I sat there studying, it got me thinking about the old days, which was actually last week. My husband and I used to go out every night. We'd have our lavish nights on the town, and I'd have my days at the spa, hanging out with my friends, getting my nails done. Sometimes Will and Jessica, one of the partners at his firm, would join me when they got out of the office. We'd have great times, chatting, having a few drinks. It was everything I had ever wanted; I had the perfect life. The modern art museum was always my favorite place to go. Something about the gardens there just made me feel so free. Maybe it was the irony of a flaming toilet in a place that was supposed to be as classy as an art museum that made me feel like it was so natural. It was classy, but it wasn't snotty. I remember the day like it was yesterday. It almost was, technically. Will brought me to the museum one Thursday. He had taken the day off from work and said he was taking me out, so I put on my favorite dress and we got in the limo and went to the museum. That's when he told me he was leaving me. He said he and Jessica had been having an affair and now she was pregnant. He said he didn't love me anymore and never did. He said I wasn't smart, that he only wanted me because I was beautiful and he needed a beautiful wife to hang onto his arm while he was working his way up at the firm. I don't know if I was more hurt or angry. I gave up everything for him. I dropped out of college so he could afford law school! How could he say I wasn't smart! I was the one with perfect grades! I lost it; I screamed at him "how could you do this to me?!" I started crying so hard I didn't even realize he'd left in the limo. He left me there! That pathetic, disgusting, sorry excuse for a man! Somehow I'd wandered my way over to the flaming toilet and had to laugh; I would love to put him on it. It was that little bit of humor that kept me from going insane. I would have to start over. I would have to find my own home and get a job. I called a cab and went home. Thankfully he wasn't there. Then again... nothing was there. That jerk had the house cleaned out!! All that was left was the dress I had on my back and the antique bedroom dresser I had found at a garage sale in college. I guess it wasn't good enough for him anymore either. Unfortunately I never used it after college, but there was one shirt and a pair of jeans in there that I hadn't worn since school. Looks like I was going to have a chance to wear them again. The door rang a few minutes later yanking me out of my memories, so I put my book down and went to see who it was. I didn't know anyone here, so I couldn't figure out why someone would be visiting me. It was a few of my neighbors, so I greeted them and invited them in for a cup of coffee. They were all so friendly... and real. They weren't fake like the people I'd known in my past life. Maybe this would be a good new start for me after all. Over the next few days I spent some time trying to figure out who I was. I'd been Will Harding's wife for so long that I couldn't remember who Eliana Montgomery was anymore. It made me sad to think about. I tried a few different hobbies but nothing made me happier than when I was painting. Nothing ever came out very well, but it was so soothing. All my emotions and everything I was feeling could come out on that canvas. I could have spent the rest of my life doing that, but unfortunately what little money I had left was running out and it was time to find a job. What could I do? I didn't have any skills, no one could possibly want me. There happened to be an opening in law enforcement as a security guard. I laughed when I saw it but the money was good so I figured what did I have to lose? Apparently nothing because at my interview they took one look at me and said I seemed strong enough (again, thank you gym) and gave me the job. I had a job!! For the first time in my life, I would be able to take care of myself! Things were going well for me. A few months had gone by and I'd been given a promotion at work. I was growing my hair out and was finally able to buy that heater for my house, and a few clothes for myself. One day at the mall I saw Will. He approached me and said hi and that I looked good. I said thank you, and asked him how everything was going with Jessica and the baby. He told me that Jessica left him not long after the baby was born. He had lost his job at the firm for messing up a major case. She said she didn't want such a bad influence in her child's life so she took the baby and left town. He then asked me how I was doing and if I wanted to go out for dinner sometime, to reconcile. He said he felt bad about leaving me. I told him about my new job and my new friends and that I didn't want anything to do with him. I didn't feel bad.
