I was looking through my family album the other day and I found this happy picture . Thats me and my husband Luke on the bench and our daughter Bethany on the swing. We were always going out
doing fun things toghether.
We were very young when we married . We lived in a beautiful house and we both had good jobs . I thought this was it, and life was rosy, but I was mistaken...

Luke started going out on his own more often...
Luke was always away on buisness trips but one week-end Beth and I went to the park and Luke was there kissing a young woman... My whole world came tumbeling down... And poor Beth she was devastated, we both ran home together... When we got home we snuggled up on the couch and consoled each other. Luke followed us home and we started to argue . I didn't want to argue in front of Beth but all the anger just came out... We argued some more... And then I told Luke to move out... He said he was sorry he hadn,t meant for things to have gone this far and then he left.... We had to move out of our beautifull house with the big garden and live in a little bed sit in town... We decorated and made the room look as bright as we could. At least we were able to bring Beths bedroom furniture with us and that cheered the place up a bit. Life in the bedsit was very lonely... Beth had to adapt to many changes , when I went out to work a nanny came in to look after her , she had always been shy with strangers and was not very confident... A few weeks before Beths birthday we moved into a two bedroomed apartment and life was getting better or so i thought... Beth didn't want a party or a cake , but I made one anyway... She blew out the candles and made a secret wish... Beth grew up well and ate some of her cake... The following morning I made some toast .... Beth said she was busy making her bed and would have it later... That evening I cooked Beths favourite Bolognaise for tea but she said she was not hungry... I was always eating my meals alone... Beth would always make an excuse and say that she would eat later... I had decided it was time for a talk as I was getting rather worried about Beth and her not eating. She agreed with me that something needed to be done ... A few days later we went to see a specialist. Beth poured her heart out and told us that she thought if she stopped eating she wouldn't grow up and if she didn't grow up she would be happy and that her dad would come back to live at home. She agreed that she needed help... The following day Beth was admitted to a clinic for young girls with eating problems. She was rather apprehensive but she knew it was the right thing to do... Doctor Marie spent most of the day with the girls helping them prepare their meals and watching over them while they ate... I was allowed to visit Beth at the week-end and every time I saw her she looked better... And she even started having a good time... She was becoming more confident with other people... She looked in the mirror on the day she was allowed home and even liked what she saw.. Beth sees her father alternate week- ends and is slowly accepting the fact that he has a life away from us and that he still loves her.. Last week-end he took us both out bowling... And a good time was had by all .Beth knows she has to be strong and not slip back to her old ways . I know she can do it as she is surrounded by people that love her and are there to help her ... Good Luck Bethany and here's to many more happy times.......

Bethany's Battle.

What I like the most I think is that even as it centers on Bethany it is the mother's concern that keep the narration flowing, and in such little space you told a great story so well, congratulations

I like the way you are able to "talk" about tabu-subjects. It's also moving that you're telling it from a mothers point of view.
