This is the story of my two grandaughters Harriet (the tomboy) and Henrietta (always in a dress)We live with their mum Ginny in a lovely house . By the way my name is Chris.

This is the story of my two grandaughters Harriet (the tomboy) and Henrietta (always in a dress)We live with their mum Ginny in a lovely house . By the way my name is Chris. This is us in our little cottage. We were very happy there, the girls were always playing an laughing. They shared a bedroom , Harry liked blue and Henry loved pink so they came to a compromise and we decorated their room in both colours and every one was happy. I had my own room overlooking the front garden and the orange trees And this is Ginny in her room dreaming about her Mr Right. One day he will come along. Our neighbour, Jenny came to visit . She wanted to know if Ginnys husband would be following. The truth is Ginny had never been married. She was courting a boy called Brett, he was a soldier and went off to war without knowing that Ginny was pregnant. A few days before he was due to come home on leave his outfit was ambushed and he was missing presumed dead. Giiny was hearbroken and when the twins were born we moved house so we could have a fresh start. We have been here four years and life is getting easier for us all. The time came for the twins to start school, they were very excited but Harry was upset as she had to wear a skirt and had a litlle sulk at the breakfast table. We went out to play on the swing before the bus arrived . We had a cuddle and I said "Dont worry about your skirt just have a good time " The bus arrived Harry was first to get on , always running everywhere. Closely followed by Henry. Ginny and I were in a right state "What sall we do all day without them? We spent a while doing yoga and that relaxed us a bit. Ginny was an artist and had recently started to paint pictures of Brett. She said it was to keep his memory alive for the twins. She always had a sad look on her face, she still misses him a lot. The twins came home and we had a wonderful time talking about school.Harry said that all their friends had a daddy why did they not have one. Ginny had been dreading that question ........ She took them to see the painting of their father and explained as gently as she could what had happened ..... Ginny felt better after talking to the twins about their father. Later it was time to help with homework Later that evening Henry told me she loved me and we would manage without a daddy. Ginny loved her girls but she also liked them to be tucked up in bed and she could go and dream about her Mr right again. Back to the easle she would go. "Why dont you go out and make some new friends" I would tell her. Her reply was always the same " I have everything I need here....... A few weeks passed and the twins had settled well at school. They had been on a school trip to the local police station and were very quiet when they arrived home..... What was wrong...... They went staight up to Brett's painting which was now hanging up on the wall, there was a lot of whispering going on. I sat with them and asked what was wrong , they both said together " We saw Daddy today!.
It took me a while to recover before asking " Where" I called Ginna in and the girls explained that there was a nice Sargeant called Brett at the police station and he looked like their daddy. The girls had never lied but Ginny was afraid that it might be the painting that had upset the twins.... Ginna went on the phone and asked if there was a Sargeant called Brett working at the station. Her knees went weak as the reply of "Yes" came back. How could she find out if it was him? That night Ginny was constantly looking at Brett's painting did he still look like that , was he even still alive , was it him? so many question After a sleepless night Ginny was out in the garden when she heard a car stopping outside she turned around and could hardly belive her eyes........ Was it him or was she dreaming....... It was him It was her Brett , She had found him after all these years . He was alive. She had so much to catch up on. He had been in hospital for two years with memory loss. When he was better he came to look for Ginny. Her neighbour told him that she had moved away with Chris and the twins. He thought Chris was her husband 's name not her mothers's name, so he stopped looking for her as he thought she was married.....

I cried for joy when I saw Brett my Ginnny had found her Mr Right and the twins would have their daddy. They were so excited when Ginny told them about their daddy Harriett just bounced on the bed and Henrietta Just kept on asking" Is it really true..... The twins went out and hugged their daddy hard. And then just carried on playing as if nothing had happened while Brett and Ginny made up for lost time mmm........... I missed you ....... Two weeks later Ginny and Brett had a romantic evening wedding among the flowers and orange trees. The twins and I made the cake. And we had champagne It was such a wonderful day to celebrate. The happy couple after a long wait...... Oh and me I have found happiness too........................but thats another story..................
