So Violet has been kicked out (yet again) and is now staying in the market square, but then a mysterious stranger appears...
"Who said that?" A man appeared from around the corner of the building, he had long her like Edgard had. He had a strange wild aura around him, I shuddered again.
"You're not from around here are you?" "What's it to you?" I snapped, he laughed,
"Fiery, aren't you? I'm Roan, Roan Flint. What about you?"
"Violet." I said guardedly. "Pretty name," He said, "I'm starving. Ooh, leftovers!" He started walking over to waste baskets full of food,
"I don't think you should be doing that," I said warningly,
"Why? It's not stealing if its been thrown away,"
He picked up an apple and bit into it,
"Mmm, I haven't eaten in ages!" "Stop thief!" A merchant shouted, Roan groaned. Just out luck. "Well we better start running," He said, and we ran. We ran to the edge of the square, the merchant hot on our heels. I tried to pick up my pace but I couldn't. Roan yelled at me to hurry up. "STOP THIEVES!" The merchant screamed. The merchant caught up with us. The merchant tripped up Roan, he tried to pick himself up but more men were upon us. One grabbed me by the waist and hoisted me up.
They roughly shoved us into a cart and carried us away. The men threw us inside a cell and locked the door. Roan went to sit on the sorry excuse for a bed and I went and sat next to him.
"You just had to eat the stupid apple didn't you?" I said venomously, "Now were're stuck in here, "It was worth it though," He said, "If I hadn't I'd be like this guy within a week," He pointed at the skeleton. I leaned in to look at the skeleton. It was tied to the wall with metal chains, I shuddered. "That will be us within a week if we don't get out of here!"
"No it won't," He said, "They'll put us in the stocks and the peasants will throw rotten fruit at us. No biggie,"
"How can you be so calm when you put us in here!" "Hey, if you hadn't hurried up they wouldn't have caught us," He said, "So don't act all high and mighty,"
"Hmph" I said, "Any way," He stood up and went by skeleton, "There is a way out,"
"How?" "Going down the drain," He said, "I'm not sure where it leads, but its worth a shot,"
I looked at the drain, it looked way too small to fit through. "I'll never fit through there," I said frowning, he shrugged,
"Your choice."
I thought about this for a second,
"Okay," I said "Right," He said, he lifted up the drain lid and took his shirt and boots off and slid down the drain. I checked for any guards looking, I took my dress and shoes off and followed him down the drain.
