My heart was broken. My boyfriend Steve of 6 years left me for another woman.. leaving me all alone for the first time in my life. With no career and no place to go, I took what little money I had and bought one beer down at the BlueBeer SimBar and Grill. I took a seat next to a young gentleman and said "bartender! I'll take one of those!" as I pointed to the guy next to me I thought that maybe I could use more than just the beer that he had.

The guy smiled at me and told me I had made a good choice. But when I didn't return his smile- he asked me what my name was and simply said, "Tell me." And that I did... I told him how much I had trusted Steven and about how this beer was the only thing that belonged to me now. I told him my name- Annabelle Carter. And he told me that women always left him too- they said he was too nice or something- I needed too nice. Why would they do that I asked- He just kind of laughed and said that most people need more space than he wanted between himself and someone he loves. I took another sip... Both of us sat there well into dawn just talking about what we wanted in our next relationship. We thought about what qualities of a person were most important. And I realized that I felt safe with this guy and that he had all of the qualities that I wanted most. We talked a little more.. And he was always interested in every boring little thing that I said. I took my last sip- I guess I should keep the bottle so that I can beg for simoleons later. He took the last of his beer in one gulp.. And he said to me, "Annabelle- My name is Shane Cradler and I'm going home. You are welcome to join me, its 7am and i have a few couches. You don't have to do anything that you don't feel comfortable doing- but my offer stands." I was a little stutter-shook... I wasn't brave enough to have asked him on my own- but I just had this strong sense that this was as sensible as this feeling gets. This may be stupid- but I think that I.. I... LLL.. love him. Shane Cradler.. ..ill be taking you up on that offer. the ride took about 45 minutes and when the cab dropped us off at his front door I was sure that love was the feeling. And apparently.. it was a mutual feeling. Love at first sight doesn't sound stupid anymore. When I finally turned around I saw Shanes home for the first time. He said his family had lived on this plot of land for some time and he had inherited it through his father. It was a large conservative-type house that was built with the intention of supporting a family with lots of children. Shane and I were like a married couple right from the very beginning. We understood each other- our needs and wants were an open book and we never let each other down. So.. after several months we actually were married! It didn't change anything between us- just made it more concrete. I was happier than I had ever been with Shane- he was everything that I wanted.. needed. But.. I'm sorry to say that the story does not end here. We had been married a few years- and were trying to have children when suddenly.. Shane began getting very sick. He was in the bathroom all day.. And all night. He even passed out on the floor. Crying, I called an ambulance and had them bring us to the Sim Community Hospital. There he was.. hooked up to all of these machines. My love.. fluids being pumped in and then sucked out again. The nurse had received instructions and was told to inform me of Shanes diagnosis. "Mrs. Cradler", the nurse said, "I'm afraid that this is not easy to say. Your husband has an unstoppable fast-growing cancer that is taking over his colon and stomach. He hasn't got long to live, but there are no warning signs for this monster- there was no way to have prevented this. Im very sorry." NO! I cried! The only thing in my life that meant anything at ALL was being taken away from me... I was going to be alone again and the love of my life was losing his own life. "I'll leave you to be with him.", the nurse said. I was in there for hours.. I just cried. Crying was the only thing I had control over anymore. He was so young.. I was so young. I wanted to have his children! WHY! But even in all of this... I had one small spark of an idea. I asked nurse Julia- Does the hospital here have the ability to freeze SimFluids? "Why, yes- but we cannot freeze Sims if that is what you .." No, I said- I understand that it is too late for him. I was wondering.. Is there a way that I could save some of my husbands.. um- how do I ask this? His.. um.. can I save some of his 'sim-genetic material'???? You know.. to be used at a later time? "Well, of course. We haven't done a combination of the freezing and then the sim vitro fertilization in the same case.. but I don't see a reason why we couldn't perform this sevice. We will of course need Mr. Cradler's signature and consent, but I'm sure that that will not be a problem." So, once we were allowed to go home, I sat down and talked with Shane about my idea. We both knew that it was too late to try for a family the.. natural sim way. Shane didn't exactly understand why I would want to take on the challenge of raising children alone? Why would I want a constant reminder around... little Shanes'running around- wouldn't that just make it hard on me? Wouldn't I want to meet someone else and have their children? No, I told him. I never want to be alone again. No other man could compare to you i said! I want the children that we have both wanted for quite some time. And I know that you will always be here in some way- children from your heart deserve to be born. Shane understood.. we would go to the hospital tomorrow. Of course he understood.. that was my Shane.. Julia explained the procedure to both of us and gained Shane's consent. As Shane was checking out, the nurse told me that Shane would be close to death by now, and that I should take him home.. let him be in his own home. Hospitals are not the way to leave the SimEarth.... I was sad to know that this was really the last moment I would be with him. We were home several weeks- and I was at the pharmacy picking up Shanes med's when it happened..... The love of my life has gone... And I had walked in just in time to see my baby taken into the soft glow.. I knew that he was no longer in pain- but I also knew that my own pain had just begun. I spent several days crying... the house was so empty and quiet.. I was scared of every little noise. No one was here to protect me. I had no one to hold me at night.. no one to make me laugh. The next day I found myself back at Sim Community Hospital. "Now, I just need for you to read the Hospital's procedures and guidlines documentation- sign here- and it will be over before you know it." "Okay" she said, "everything is all set." I fluffed my pillow, and prepared myself. This will only take a little while.. the anistesia will be taking effect soon.. please count backwards from Sim Hundred.... I was only home from the hospital for 2 days.. and I was already huge!!!! So I made my way back to the Hospital for an early ultrasound. "Hmmmm.. " Nurse Julia said.. "This cannot BE... I mean.. this has NEVER.. " "No... but.. its right here.. but- viability?" "Mrs. Cradler... the eggs that we implanted.. just two days ago.. ALL of them.. all of them have attatched to your simuterus and are currently doing well. They are all very healthy.." "All of them.. ALL TWELVE. Now, don't be alarmed! But, some of the simbryo's may be terminated by your body- if it cannot support all of them. But.. right now- you uterus is ten-times the size of a 2-day fertilization. The largest sim birth on record is seven.. we will have to implement stretching of your stomach and supply your blood stream with twelve times the nutrients and oxygen. You must come back in two weeks to be on permanent supervision until the babies are delivered. This is dangerous.. but your body is acting normal." I was in kind of a shock.. but I didn't mind. Half of Shane was growing inside of my stomach.. I know that it was he himself that is helping me to have as many children as I have always wanted.. as many as I can handle. I was not worried.. I was ecstatic in fact. Twelve children.. Shane was making sure that I would never truly be alone again. Sure enough, two weeks had passed quickly and I was carrying the weight of a full-term simling. While one simling at fourteen weeks (full-term for simlings) weighs around six pounds, my babies each weigh only about half of a pound at 2 weeks, 2 days. Nurse Julia was kind enough to find the perfect shot of baby B, and freeze the screen by my bedside. Baby B was a boy! It made the twelve weeks in the hospital go by much quicker than expected.. in fact.. The time is NOW! The first baby is coming.. And.. Baby A! its a GIRL!!!! She has Shane's hair and eyes! Her name is Aubrey Cradler and she weighs 4lbs and 2oz. Then, Baby B! Alex. Also with Shane's genetics.. he weighs 3lbs 1oz. Baby C!! Another little girl. I named her Brittney- she is the smallest at 2lbs even. Next, Baby D, came out starving! My little boy... Brett, the biggest baby! And also the spitting image of his father. 5lbs 10oz. Baby E - a BOY! Little Caleb (He has my eyes) he weighs 4lbs 3oz. Then, out comes Baby F, another bouncing boy! His name is Cody. He weighs in at 2lbs 7oz. Aw... here is Baby G, another little BOY! Shane definately had something to do with this! This is Garrette.. 4lbs even. Baby H.. a little GIRL! Her name is ellie and she weighs in at 3lbs 9oz. Another BOY! YAY! Baby i. Lance. 2lbs 13oz. Baby J.. a little GIRL! I named her Megan.. she also has my eyes she weighs 5lbs even. Baby K. BOY BOY BOY! Miles.. he has my eyes and his daddy's hair. He weighs 2lbs 3oz. And lastly.. NOT leastly.. (i think we are running out of alphabet) Baby L. Ross! He weighs 4lbs 15oz. Well... things got off to a stinky start once we got home. Um.. a VERY stinky start. My brand new twelve-pack were all very small for gestational simling age, so they are required to sleep in sterilized temperature controlled bassinettes. And as a side note.. I never once used any form of cheats on the babies' motives/needs- if they were stinky.. they had to be changed.. all twelve of them! And Annabelle was the only sim taking care of them. But.. the stuff in their diapers was FAR from small compared to ANYTHING! I was able to get most every baby changed by dawn.. but with several messages from the local social workers' union! And.. soon their little tummies were getting empty. And we all know where it was emptying out at! And another one bites the duiaper genie! Soon I had time to organize the nursery and then make a twelve-pack of bottles up before the naps were over. The diaper genie's were completely filled to the brim.. You might as well warm up another while you're there.. So.. the massive task of feeding twelve hungry bellies (one at time) was underway.. with no less than six calls from the social worker. But.. After several hours.. They eventually WERE all fed! And yes.. that's RIGHT! Count them! TWELVE sets of beautiful ZZZ's coming out of each little bassinette. Im so proud! But soon the bliss ended, and with each day came new dirty didies, old bottles all over the floor and several expected "reminders" from the Simling Protective Service. Why don't THEY try it? And.. yes- it came so quickly! Birthday!!!!!!!!!!! 12x As you can see.. the nursery is a little scrabbled-looking right now.. half of them babies and half of them big-babies! Well, here is Aubrey! (Yes, I know.. Im hoping that they grow into their faces too!) But, She is my little cuddle-bunny. And here is Alex. He has to have some kind of noise happening.. and its usually him making it! Here is Brittney :) -again with the grow-into-it thing.. She is my chewer! If it fits into her mouth.. it obviously was meant to be there! Here is my little cutie- he still looks exactly like Daddy. He still doesn't get the whole baby-in-the-mirror thing yet, but he isn't complaining about boredom! Here is my little Caleb. He doesn't really like the potty. He would rather wear diapers for as long as simanly possible... Here is Cody.. he looks strangely like Ross from "Friends" Garrette! My dirt-boy. If it's dirty.. then garrette is probably eating it.. or making mommy a pretty carpet mural.. Ellie-belle! She follows me everywhere. If I didn't put the baby gate on the bathroom door, then Ellie would fulfill her lifetime want of being connected to mommy's side for life. Lance! He also looks like Ross from "Friends". He is always playing with the other babies.. he always brings them toys- and he brings Garrette.. DIRT. Megan! She is totally oblivious to what anyone is saying unless that anyone is saying "ba-ba" or "Dolly" Miles.. he is the Professor. He studies everything.. just looking at it. He might not say much- but he sees all! My other little Ross from 'Friends' ... and yeah- his name IS Ross! He is so laid back.. I had to have another room built onto the nursery to make room for the sleeping area. Each baby gets their own little sleeping mat. Naptime! Poor Brittney! She fell asleep still sitting up. Okay. This is the new nursery! I had to partition it off so that the babies could build their skills and still have room for pottying. Bottle Circle Painting Area Music Corner Logic Nook All things cuddly! Potty Row And the Excersaucers! We fenced off a little playard outside for all of the wet-toys and the things with wheels and such. Miles and Lance LOVE the trucks! And waking up their sissies! Ellie and Megan love to paint pretty pictures. Cody likes to hammer and drill! Garrette likes the bongos- who knew? Caleb like to give 'kisses' Everyone loves mommy though.. Sometimes I read a story- and all twelve form a little circle around me. I can turn on the radio and they all enjoy dancing!! They follow me EVERYWHERE! There are always two or three at my side. Or six or seven... I told you that she follows me lol.. That's right.. bounce yourself right into.. naptime! Slowly the babies are learning to take turns.. And soon all of them can use the big boy/girl potties on their very own! There is always a line for Potty Row... You won't believe this.. but I managed to get a decent photo of my little thumb-suckers all in one place! And only ONE is complaining :) Still, even though quietness taking over is no longer a worry of mine.. Shane not being here hurts my heart. I miss him.. His cute face.. His funny side. Well.. I ALWAYS laughed! He was the best cook ever.. And he always set the table for two. He was my best friend. I miss his kiss.. Him holding me... Our loving.. Our lips touching.. But the thing i miss MOST is just talking.. just him being here with me. Next to me.. But now his side of the bed is cold. And my circle feels half-empty. I sleep alone... AH! Oh my gosh... I have TWELVE KIDS!!!!! OH man.. and they are ALL growing up today.. I so wish that Shane could be here to see them. I have no time.. the kids are growing up as we speak! Twelve clean bottoms later.. Aubrey is ready to grow up! Here she is before.. and... AFTER! YAY! Shes mostly grown into her looks. Alex.. before. AFTER! What a cutie! Brittney before. AFTER! Aw! Her hair got a little lighter like mine. Brett before. And after! Caleb before. AND AFTER! Such a handsome boy :) Cody before. And AFTER! Garrette before. AFTER!! Ellie before. Aw! Ellie! She got lighter hair like mommy too! Lance LANCE! Megan.. My sweet girly girl.. so cute! Miles. The new Miles! Ross. ROSS! Ah.. a sigh of relief! All of the kids made it to childhood safely and with decent faces too! A few accomadations were needed to serve twelve growing kids. Firstly- a large dining table. Of course, a suitable bedroom. Girls on the right- boys on the left. And.. we spoke with Sim Elementary.. And we all decided to engage in home-schooling. We did this because it would be next to impossible to get twelve children onto the bus everyday and keep their needs stable. Plus... can you imagine TWELVE sets of homework coming home everyday??? No ONE sim on Simearth has time to help a twelve-pack with an hour of homework. SO.. here is the Cradler Twelve-Pack Routine!!! We wake up before dawn. Every Simling is responsible for their own bed being made! I set out each folder of the days' work to be completed at each desk and then call each kid to their work. The kids start working at about 7am.. And they all finish with schooling at about 8:30 or 9am! The kids all kind of play around until everyone is done. Then we all get together for morning educational TV. The kids all gain a cooking skill, and it gets them ready for.. LUNCH! Today is Pizza day and lines are already starting. Everyone is happy! Okay, now this is the most important part of the day- skillbuilding. Each child chooses something that they would like to do- Brittney and Garrette choose to gain Charisma by working on their golf stroke. The gym equipment is always quickly filled up! Miles, Ross and Alex are repeat visitors. There are lots of ways to gain creativity in the Cradler home, but Cody and Caleb LOVE the Mini-piano's! Often one of the Cradler kids chooses to just do some quiet learning alone in the living room. And another big favorite is cooking class!! And this isn't the cooking that normal simlings are doing, the kids are challenged with full course meals. Such as this Sugar-glazed Cherry Pie with cross-hatch pie strips on top that Aubrey has made. Brett's favorite dish- Provolone, swiss, american, and mozzarella cheeses in a butter sauce baked onto his homeade linguine! And Ellie is famous around the Cradler household for Whole-Lobster broiled to perfection in a seasoned butter seafood cream with a crisp steamed broccoli serving on the side. Each weekday, the children must gain a different skill point- since Ellie, Brett and Aubrey have all gained their cooking point for this week, they must now work on one of the other skills- that goes for all of the kids. After Cradler Skill-building time- it is time for a potty break and also for bathtime! THEN.... SWIMMING! The Cradler kids enter the pool by.. well- the dozen. They work on their diving skill- with more difficult dives like rings of pool toys and the high-jump. The Cradler pool-treasure is hidden in a new spot each day- I think Brittney found it! You may wonder why one family has an olympic sized swimming pool, but- we have an olympic sized family!!! After swimming, dinner is served! After dinner is cleaning time. We invested in an incinerator so that the amount of trash from thirteen sims doesn't take up the whole garbage truck! After cleaning- there is sometimes a little free time- But- we waste no time getting everysim into bed! Goodnight! This is our family.. Miles, Ross, Alex, Brittney, Brett, Lance, Megan, Cody, Garrette, Aubrey, ME, Caleb and Ellie. Each one of us has a part of Shane still with us. Our lives may look a little hectic, but we are a happy family! We prove that it is possible to take a lot of sorrow and turn it into a ton of happiness! This is us saying goodbye! 12x

Cradler- Love by the DOZEN!
