Bobby: no, don't tell me that! (tears began forming in his eyes)
Phone: she didn't make it.
Phone: But she tried Bobby, she tried so hard!... (begins sobbing)
Bobby: .....
Phone: Will you be ok?
Bobby: ..... I dont know.
(hangs up phone) As he turns around, memory after memory begin flooding his mind.
Until finally he lets out a shout in agony
"NO!!! NO, no no no.... she can't be gone!.... Karen!" He tries to pull himself together, but he can't.
He feels lost, deprived from, emptiness, pain...
The one thing he ever wanted most is now gone.
Once again leaving him but for the final time. "Babe its been a week. A week gone by where I didn't get to see your pretty face. And I feel as though I am dying slowly inside... a week! How am I supposed to survive for the rest of my life?!... (starts crying) He stares at the tomb, wishing. Wishing so badly to hold her again,
to feel her warm embrace, to have been able to take away her pain...
"I miss you Karen, I miss you so bad...."
He turns around and slowly walks away. It's 3am, he can't sleep.
His mind is still racing, he tries hard to keep his thoughts from the past.
Its no use... he tries hard to keep away from his memories but..
maybe remembering would help. The first time he saw her, a smile ran across his face.
She was ever so lovely... so beautiful, so elegant, so poised.
If he hadn't been so nervous, he would've gone and talked to her.
But right then, he would've made a fool of himself. It had been weeks since he last saw her but he had hope to see her again.
And at last, she was once again in sight, and the nervous feeling came back.
He knew this would be his last chance to get to know her.
So he went up and introduced himself... well the best he could! "umm... Hi my Bobby name is. er! I mean my name is Bobby."
"(giggles)... Hello! I'm Karen."
after the embarssing introduction, Bobby felt his face go red.
He didn't really know what to say after that, but Karen was smart.
She helped the conversation go smoothly by, every once in awhile
laughing at the way he kept acting nervous around her. They became good friends after that, actually more like the best of friends.
Which for Bobby was good but he still wanted that something more.
Something he couldn't have right now since Karen wasn't single.
It was hard to see them together, especially when he found out who she was dating. He wasn't really fond of Andrew.
His reputation with girls was horrible, yet they still wanted him.
They'd been best friends back in middle school but not now.
Once they entered high school, Andrew changed. At first he liked Andrew's change.
Him being able to pick up any girl for both of them,
getting invited to numerous parties,
and being the coolest kids in school,
what was not to like? But then Andrew started to get into things he shouldn't.
He did things that just weren't right.
So Bobby just let him be, that just wasn't his style anymore
He missed his friend, but he knew better than to get involved. But what made him dislike Andrew most...
He was Karen's boyfriend, the guy who treated her badly.
He always wanted to step into the arguments and defend Karen
But Karen wouldn't let him, she said everything would calm down.
All he could do was stare, feeling totally useless. Afterwards Bobby always did his best to console Karen.
He knew he couldn't do a thing except comfort her and make her laugh.
In a way, it made their relationship even more special. But once again Andrew changed, but this time for the better.
Before everyone went off to college, Andrew proposed to Karen.
It was a heartbreaking moment, especially because he saw it.
He saw Karen's reaction, he saw what she felt, thats what hurt. He didn't really know what to do, what to feel, what to say.
He just knew he couldn't face Karen without spilling his guts out to her.
So he transferred schools, tried his best to move on, forget the girl he loved.
He said nothing to no one, especially not to Karen, it would be better that way. That had been enough for the day.
He couldn't handle it all at once.
So he began to get ready
There was a guest to arrive.
As he waited, he decided to read.
Even if he read the words, he didn't take them in.
Instead his mind began to wander off... It had been about two years since he had last spoken to Karen.
Some way she ended up getting his number.
She had called him and they talked for a bit but he ended it soon.
It was rather painful to hear her talking about Andrew.
He missed her but didn't want to deal with emotions right now.
School was his only focus, trying hard to graduate early. While he tried to finish off his term paper, he had a knock at the door.
He opened it and a wave of happiness filled the room.
Right in the doorway was Karen all smiles.
"I knew I'd find you!" That familiar feeling of nervousness came back.
He tried to speak but only succeeded to whisper a hello.
"Hello? Thats all you can say?! I haven't seen you in ages!"
With that Karen ran and jumped into his arms.
Before putting her down, she whispered, "I've missed you Bobby." He couldn't do much except stare at her.
She has changed so much, looking better than ever.
Karen stared deep into his eyes, seeing him again made her smile
She put her hands on his shoulders
"Quit staring and tell me how you've been!"
They both began to laugh and started talking at once. He made them breakfast and continued to catch up.
As they ate, he finally decided to ask about Andrew.
"How's... Andrew?"
"I don't know. We haven't talked in awhile."
"I thought you guys were engaged."
"Oh haha we were, but I broke it off."
"Why?"
"I just couldn't picture myself with him."
"I see." "And... there was you."
She walked over to him and began to stroke his cheek.
His mind began to race, his heart was pounding, and he had sweat running down his back.
All he could do was smile. He took her in his arms and they stayed like that for awhile.
She was finally his, she finally felt what he felt, it was nice.
"Bobby... having you leave me like that was the worst & best thing that has ever happened to me. I realized so many things too late. I stayed with Andrew in fear of losing you. I felt something for you so strong that I dared not to embrace. So I wanted to keep you near but you left. Oh Bobby you were my comfort, my joy, you made me so happy. When I'm in your arms I feel safe. You, not anyone else, are the love of my life..... I'm sorry it took me awhile." With tears in his eyes, he looked deep into hers, seeing her cry too.
He couldn't help himself any longer, he leaned in and kissed her.
She didn't back away, in fact she kissed him again. The sound of the telephone ringing woke him up.
He hadn't realized he dozed off. He quickly went and picked up the phone.
His guest was going to be running late. Since he had time to spare, he laid down.
Just waited, thinking, thinking about Karen mostly. He was going to ask her tonight. Not at dinner but at a special place, where they first met.
As they neared, he grabbed her hands and look straight into her eyes.
"Karen, there is something I want to ask you, something I want to tell you."
"oh!!"
"Ever since I've known you
I've wanted to open up my heart to you
I've wanted to stare at the stars with you
I've wanted to say I love you over a million times
Because I see your soul, looking into you & your so beautiful" "We have come a long way
And after all, we know that everything's okay
We've walked down waves that have crashed

She quickly pulled him into a kiss and said, "Yes" "Now let me tell you something Bobby...
It must be the you and me that has made me believe in love.

Since its you and me" He remembered every word she said to him that night.
How everything fell into place, everything fell so right.
He never knew she would be taken away from him so suddenly.
But at least he had her, knew her, and loved her.
His guest was on their way, he had to clean himself up before they arrived. A year after they got married, Karen became pregnate.
They were excited but rather nervouse, normal for new parents.
At the ultra sound they found out it was a girl.
They were ecstatic by then since they had wanted a little girl.
After a few choices, they decided to name her Olivia. They preped, practiced, decorated, and waited for the big day to come.
When it did, one life would begin and another would end. It had been too much for Karen. She went into labor a month early.
Right after Olivia had been born, Karen was placed in intensive care.
Bobby stayed day in and day out in the hospital with her.
He was then sent home for that needed rest.
He then said what would be his last good-bye to his wife.
"I love you Karen..."
"I love you even more Bobby" she added with a smile.
With that he left. Olivia had to be hospitalized a bit longer before she could go home.
Once she was stable, they would bring her to Bobby. Enter caption here. . . The doorbell rung, and he quickly went downstairs to open the door.
As the woman stepped inside and handed him Olivia,
His heart began to pound, he felt the familiar nervousness
But none the less, he smiled as his baby girl. He held her out in front of his arms.
She had Karen's eyes, she looked so much like her mom.
He missed Karen but knew he had to be there for his daughter. As he held Olivia near, he felt as though he fell in love all over again.
Life flooded his veins, he knew everything would be alright.
Olivia needed him to be strong, so strong he had to become.
As he held her, he quickly whispered in her ear
"I guess its just you and me." Thanks for reading. :D
