Welcome to Part 10 of The Chronicles of the Carr Family. If you haven't read Chapters 1-9, I would recommend doing so before beginning this chapter. There is a recap of Chapters 1-7 that has been published if you want some quicker reading. As always, questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Now, let's see what's happening with the Carr Family... When we last left off, Trevor had recently been called on to help his brother Travis and his friend Graham McClure. Travis was unknowlingly about to give birth to an alien baby. Graham was in a similar predicament. He had called on Trevor to help him become human again (he was currently a werewolf) and to find a suitable home for his unborn alien child. Trevor had finally agreed to move into the family mansion with his mother.

Shortly after moving into the mansion, Elaine turned into a child. Trevor was surprised when his mother offered to bring her to the cake. His mother seemed to have taken a special liking to little Elaine. She grew up into a child and they all celebrated over cake. Trevor was glad to see that his mother was finally willing to accept him and his family for who they were. It wasn't long before Evan and Adele were growing into teenagers. The time seemed to be flying by as all of his children celebrated their birthdays. Several of the family members came by to celebrate. Trevor was quite happy with the turnout. Jacob and Michael celebrated their birthdays that same night. Tina couldn't believe how fast her family was growing up. It seemed like only yesterday that Todd was being born. They had been through so much together. Mrs. Carr found Trevor sitting in the kitchen later that evening looking at a business deed. As she approached her son, she saw that it was the deed to her late husband's business. She had given the deed to Trevor shortly after he moved in.
"So what type of place did dad own?" Trevor asked as his mother took a seat.
"Well, it's quite unique." His mother avoided the topic. "Maybe we'll go visit it soon."
Mrs. Carr left Trevor alone in the room.
The entire family had been pitching in to keep things running smoothly. Evan was much like his brother Todd - always helping out with his younger siblings. Even Mrs. Carr was finding time to help with childcare from time to time. Tina was spending quite a deal of time with Mrs. Carr since she didn't have a job. She was spending her days taking care of the toddlers. She was slowly beginning to realize that Mrs. Carr appeared to be leading a double life. The same man would come by periodically to talk to Mrs. Carr. Tina wasn't quite sure what to make of it all. "Mom, do you think that we could go visit dad's business today?" Trevor asked his mother after the breakfast dishes were done.
"I suppose we could, but I'm warning you - this isn't an ordinary business." Mrs. Carr told him.
"What do you mean?" Trevor asked.
"Trevor, there's many things that you don't know about your father." Mrs. Carr began. "Many things that he didn't want you to know."
"Like what?" Trevor asked.
"Oh." Mrs. Carr thought for a moment. "I can't do this now. We can discuss this later. For now, let's go see that business."
Trevor didn't know what to make of his mother's reaction.
They arrived in Bluewater Village to look at his father's business. His mother informed him that it was called Space Journey and was themed around outer space. Trevor was beginning to realize that he was more like his father than he ever wanted to be. While he was getting things back to running order at The Space Journey, he ran into his sister Tabitha. He hadn't seen her in quite a while and he was surprised to see that she was indeed with child. According to his mother, she wasn't married and didn't know when she would be. After a long chat, she invited him to come by her place to visit her daughter and significant other. Trevor stared at the servo named Anthony for a few minutes before allowing it to sink in. His sister was in love with a machine! This was definitely a new one. He was beginning to realize that Meadowbrook had many secrets to hide - aliens, werewolves, robots, and who knows what else. He was beginning to wonder if returning to Meadowbrook fifteen years ago was such a good idea.

"Do I have alien expert stamped across my face or something?" Trevor asked Tina one evening.
"No. Why would you say something like that?" Tina asked puzzled.
"Well, because everyone has been calling on me lately with their abduction stories." Trevor replied. "It's not that I mind helping - I just feel like I don't get to spend much time at home anymore."
"Well, we don't feel that way. It's not the amount of time that you spend at home, but how you spend the time that you're here that matters." Tina replied.
"And you spend that time very well." Tina told Trevor before pulling him in for a long kiss. Even after having six kids, the passion in their marriage hadn't disappeared. The two of them carried their passion to the bedroom and spent some time just enjoying each other's company.

The next day, Trevor finally called Jordan Lawson up and made that lunch date that he was supposed to make weeks ago. He was surprised to find that she was married and her husband was also expecting a child. Her husband introduced himself as Mitch and Trevor instantly felt at ease around him. Jordan's brother also lived with the couple. His name was Cameron and he had the same green skin that Jordan had. The entire household joined Trevor for lunch that day. He felt quite at ease around them all. In the midst of dinner, Jordan told Trevor that there was something she wanted to show him. She got up and headed to the bookshelf.
"A long time ago I started saving the letters that my father sent me. I kept them all pushed between the pages of his favorite book - A Journey into Outer Space." Jordan began explaining.
"Okay..." Trevor wondered why Jordan was telling him all of this.
"You see Trevor, I never really knew my father. I only knew him through the letters that he sent. He had a family of his own and my green skin made me an outcast." Jordan continued.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Trevor told her. "But what does any of this have to do with me?"
"Well, your name was mentioned quite frequently in the letters from my father." Jordan explained, pulling a book from the shelf.
"I don't think that I knew your father." Trevor replied.
"I think you did." Jordan said, thoughtful. "Trevor, my maiden name is Carr. I think that you knew my father because he is the same as your father."
Trevor stood staring at Jordan for a long time, letting this piece of information sink in.

Trevor had called earlier to let Tina know that he would be later than he expected. He was supposed to pick Elaine up from a friend's house and didn't know if he'd be home in time to do so. Tina could tell something was wrong and agreed to pick Elaine up. She headed over to the Buckinghams, who had six children close in age to Elaine.
Tina was glad to see Elaine making friends but became a bit worried when she met the father on the front lawn. He introduced himself as Count Sean Buckingham and had a fiersome look about himself. Tina was quite certain that he was a vampire and this frightened her a bit. However, having raised two alien children and been friends with a werewolf, she was willing to give supernatural beings a chance.
She was talking to Count Sean when she suddenly realized that she might be in danger. Her body was gravitating towards his as he stared straight into her eyes. The room was beginning to spin as she felt her body going towards his. She tried to stop, but the force was just too strong. Count Sean took her in his arms and gently laid her head back. She could feel his teeth sinking into her neck and she knew she was in trouble. She couldn't move to get out of his embrace. A few seconds later, her body was floating upwards and her minding was spinning with colors and new emotions. She knew something was different about her when she landed back on the ground. She had a thirst for something new. She wasn't quite sure what had just happened but she knew she was in for a new adventure. What was Trevor going to say about this?

Maria Carr stared into the vanity mirror. She was more than glad to have Trevor and his family living with her but she hated to see Trevor turning out just like her late husband. She knew that she was going to have to tell him soon about the family secrets but she wasn't entirely sure when the best time would be. Perhaps she should just give him the gift from his father.

Sorry that I had to keep this chapter short, but I have a lot of other things that I'm working on right now as well. Keep an eye out for the next part of the story! Also look out for A Carr Family History: John Carr's Journal to read more about the past of the Carr family.
