Welcome to Chapter 13 of The Saga of Pleasantview. I would recommend reading Chapters 1-12 or the Recap before beginning this chapter.
* * * * * Things around the Goth mansion were beginning to get quite crowded around the breakfast table. The house was never built for six people to live in it and the occupants were beginning to feel the strains of putting too many people in one house. They had all sat down around the table for lunch when Dustin proposed a toast to happiness and being alive. Everyone joined in despite the heavy thoughts weighing each one down. Darleen decided it was time to break the news of her decision to Dirk. She had decided that it was time for her to move out. She located a small suitable place in the local newspaper and packed her things up, prepared to venture out on her own. Everyone was sad to see her go but they all knew it was for the best.
* * * * * Things were finally becoming pleasant was again in the Pleasant household. They were caring for numerous babies but neither Mary Sue nor Daniel noticed the extra burdens. One rainy day, Daniel surpised Mary Sue in the middle of the nursery by propsing marriage once again. They were married soon under a full moon with their closest friends and family in attendance. The ceremony had just ended when Daniel spotted a ghost among the guests. He approached Angela, uncertain of what was going on. Once she explained what Dustin had done, Daniel hugged her and took her inside to find Lilith. The two sisters couldn't have been more overjoyed at the reunion. Lilith was extremely glad to see her sister back in her life in one piece. Angela was glad to see that Lilith was doing okay without her. Daniel was watching TV when Dustin came and joined him on the couch. He discussed a few things with Daniel and was happy when he received Daniel's blessing.
* * * * * Nina was extremely glad to have Don around the house and even more glad that Don was taking on the role of father to their children. Don was taking care of the children more often than Nina had predicted. He would even leave her sleeping in an attempt to keep from disturbing her. They had been trying to take things slow since Don moved in. He was respectful of Nina's wishes and didn't want to mess anything up. He knew that this was probably his last chance with her. Therefore, he was surprised when she took the initiative one evening. He knew things were going to be alright after all. The next morning he joined Nina at the breakfast table with butterflies in his stomach. He let her know how much he cared for her before pulling out the ring. She was overjoyed to see the diamond sparkling inside it's black box. This time she took the ring from the box and put it on her finger. She whispered yes to Don and pulled him in for a slow kiss. The two toasted their engagement and thought about the many adventures that lay ahead for them - together.
* * * * * Angela was getting adjusted to life at the Goth household. She knew that she would have to move out eventually but for now, she was just enjoying spending time with Dustin. Dustin and Angela had been sharing a bed together due to the lack of space, but lately, this had been leading to problems of its own. Angela was wanting to go further than Dustin was willing to go. Eventually, she gave up trying and the two of them would spend their evenings reading. When Dustin pulled Angela in for a long romantic kiss on their way to breakfast one morning, she was very pleased. She wasn't quite sure what had gotten into Dustin but she was certain she liked it. Halfway through dinner, Dustin pulled a black box out from under the seat. Angela covered her mouth, hopeful of what was inside. A ring was certainly inside and she quickly placed it on her finger, delighted that Dustin had proposed. The two kissed and started talking about dates.
* * * * * After finding out that Angela was back in Pleasantview, Lilith and Lucy decided that it was time to celebrate. They threw a large New Year's party inviting all of their friends. After the party had ended, Angela stuck around and shared the good news of her engagement with her sister and cousin. They were overjoyed and the girls began discussing what they wanted in their weddings.
* * * * * It wasn't long before Mary Anne Jensen was blowing out her birthday candles. As Bella watched her transform into a teenager, she wondered if she would be able to raise the girl during her teenage years. Cassandra found her mother during the birthday celebration and asked when she had been planning on telling her about the pregnancy. Cassandra was beginning to understand that it was hard for Bella to remember to tell her things when they had spent so many years apart. It was about time that she begin accepting this fact. Bella was surprised to find Mortimer at the party and even more surprised when he congratulated her on the baby. He told her that he was planning on renewing his relationship with Dina. She was genuinely happy for him and Dina. The only step left was for Mortimer to tell Alexander that he was renewing things with Dina. He was more than surprised when Alexander told him that he had suspected as much. Mortimer wasn't used to the fact that Alexander viewed Dina as more of a mother than to him than Bella.
