Chapter 2-Lost In Time

Chapter 2-Lost In Time When I awoke, I was laying on the edge of the cliff. I stood up and dusted myself off. I turned around, and what had once been an empty field, was now a beautiful garden. A large fountain stood in the center. "I must have fallen and hit my head," I said to myself. I felt fine though. I checked my head for bumps. Not one. I looked around, slowly taking in my surroundings. As I began to walk through the garden the back door opened. I ducked behind a nearby hedge. A young man stepped out into the garden. He looked like he was dressed for a costume party.
"Hello?" he called. "I know you're out here, I saw you through the window."
I heard him coming closer. Slowly, I stepped out from behind the hedge, and found myself looking into the most beautiful dark brown eyes. My breath caught.
"I'm sorry," I whispered. "I didn't know anyone lived here."
~SAMUEL Jr.~

I glanced out the window and saw a girl wandering aroud the garden. She was wearing the strangest clothes.
"Must be another runaway," I mumbled to myself.
I opened the back door and stepped out into the garden. I didn't see her, but I knew she was there.
"Hello?" I called. "I know you're out there. I saw you through the window."
I wandered toward the tall hedges. Slowly, she stepped out from behind them. She was beautiful. Her eyes were as blue as the ocean. I couldn't help but to just stare at her.
"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I didn't know anyone lived here."
"You must not be from around here." I said.
"I...I don't know what happened." she said looking around. "One minute I am in an empty field, the next minute, a beautiful garden."
"Let's get you in some proper clothing," I said, leading her toward the house. "My sister Elizabeth will lend you some."
We started walking toward the house.
"My name is Susannah," she said. "Susannah Holloway."
"How rude of me!" I exclaimed, "I should have introduced myself. I am Samuel Hunter Jr."
"Samuel Hunter Jr.?" Miss Holloway repeated, confused. She stopped walking and looked around.
~SUSANNAH~

The young man began leading me toward the house.
"My name is Susannah," I said. "Susannah Holloway."
"How rude of me!" the young man exclaimed. "I should have introduced myself. I am Samuel Hunter Jr."
"Samuel Hunter Jr.?" I repeated. Suddenly I felt faint. I stopped walking and looked around. "umm....what year is it?"
"Why, it is 1895 of course." Samuel replied. "Are you ok?"
"I'm not sure," I said. "I think I need to sit down."
Samuel led me over to a bench. In front of it was the beautiful fountain. The water sparkled in the sunlight. I took a deep breath. I was starting to feel very afraid.
"I need to get home," I said, "...but I don't know how."
"Let's get you some proper clothing first, and then we will find out how to get you home." Samuel replied, standing up.
"I don't think it will be that easy," I said, following him toward the house.
"Do not worry Miss Holloway. We will figure it out."
Samuel led me inside and up the stairs. We stopped at the first door in the hallway. He knocked and a voice called "Come in."
We walked into a beautiful room. A young lady saw us and rushed over, grabbing a blanket on her way She wrapped it around me.
"What is going on?" she demanded to know.
"This is Miss Susannah Holloway," Samuel told her. "She is lost, and needs out help."
He turned to me. "This is my sister, Elizabeth."
"We must get you into some clothes." Elizabeth said looking at me. You may borrow some of mine."
She shoved Samuel out the door and shut it.
~SAMUEL~

After I left my sister's room I headed back downstairs to wait. Women took a long time to get dressed, because they had so many layers of clothing. I decided to read while I waited. Thirty minues later I heard Elizabeth calling me.
As I got to the stairs, I saw Miss Holloway coming down them. She was absolutely stunning in Elizabeth's gown. I tried not to stare.
"You look splendid," I said when she reached the bottom of the staircase. "Let's go to the sitting room and see if we can figure out how to get you home."
I led her to the sitting room. On the way I asked our servant, Marie, to get us some lemonade.
"Do you remember anything about where you came from?" I asked her, once we had sat down.
"I remember it all," she replied, "...but I don't think you will believe me."
"Of course I will." I responded.
" I am from 2007," she said.
"2007 on which road?" I asked
"That is not my address," she responded. "That...is the year..."

A very nice story indeed. I don't think I've seen anything like it on here yet. Only one nit-picky thing... the dress she is wearing is more consistent with the early Victorian period... near the Civil War. In 1895, she would have been wearing a much thinner dress, as they were heading toward the Edwardian period. I point you to this link:

He is definitely going to think she is mental, although he anacronic clothes must hint towards something. I think the scenery and clothing is not just stunningbut flawleslymade and I like how you switch perspectives, even as dialogue is repeated it gives the impression that both him and her are of great importance

Great second part! They are great images, and the story is well written. I like it being told from the two perspectives; that was a good idea. Well done! \:D

Very nicely done, personally I am not fond of first person storytelling, but I like the way you structured it, and the time travel hook is always popular! Your first story effort is very good indeed!\:D

Its a very interesting story \:\) I love the settings and the outfits the only thing that could make it even better is if it was written in 3rd person - then you would not have to repeat the dialogue all the time - but appart from that its a brilliant idea for a story \:rah\:
