I expected him to throw me out. Or at least tell me I was crazy. Instead he just sat there looking at me as if I was the most sane person in the whole world. You'd have thought I had just told him I had moved in across the street and came over for tea. "I told you you wouldn't believe me," I said, thinking maybe he was just too shocked to speak. A door opened somewhere in the house and I could here muffled conversation. "Stay right here." Samuel said. "There is someone you should meet."
He got up and walked out of the room. I just sat there stunned. Maybe he hadn't understood me. When he re-entered the room, I was shocked.
"Miss Holloway, this is..."
"Eddie!?" I interrupted, in disbelief. Standing here in the same room was Eddie Johnson. A guy I had known for three years. Last year he had just disappeared.
"How did you get here? Everyone thought you ran away," I stammered.
"Susannah??" Eddie said, he looked just as shocked as I felt. He recovered quickly, and both him and samuel sat down.
"I, kind of, did run away. But I hadn't meant to run away to a whole other time period," he said. "I was standing up on Lockwood Pointe trying to think when I lost my balance and tumbled over the side. When I woke up I was here, and have been ever since."
"Have you tried to get back home?" I asked.
"I tried every day for three months." Eddie replied, "I even jumped off Lockwood Pointe a few times. And every time I just woke up back at the top of the cliff. Still in this time."
"I can't stay in this period." I said, feeling panic rising up in me.
"Do not worry Miss Holloway," Samuel said. He had been so quite I had almost forgotten he was sitting there. "We will figure it out."
"Please, call me Susannah," I told him.
~SAMUEL~

I sat quietly while Edwin and Miss Holloway talked. there must be some reason why two people, from the same era, had traveled back in time and I had found them both. It was lucky for them that I had found them. Anyone else would have called the White Coats. Someone wearing their clothing, and hearing them going on about traveling through time, would have thought them mad. I don't know why I believed them. It could have been because they were both so normal. Not like the crazies I had met before. Something about them just made me believe their stories.
"Do not worry Miss Holloway. We will figure it out." I said. I could tell she was frightened.
"Please," She said. "Call me Susannah."
Just then father game into the room. He looked from me, to Edwin, to Susannah.
"This is Miss Susannah Holloway," I told him. "She is a friend of Edwin's."
"Enchanted," father said, bowing slightly.
"I have offered her one of our guest rooms while she is in town."
"Wonderful," father said. "Please make yourself at home. If you need something please feel free to ask one of the servants."
""We are going to take a ride through the countryside." I said, ushering Susannah out of the room. Edwin followed. Once outside I turned to Edwin and Susannah. "Let's take a ride and talk. Maybe we can figure something out."
I fetched our driver and we climbed into the carriage.
"Aside from jumping off a cliff what else have you tried?" Susannah asked Edwin.
~SUSANNAH~

As we headed down the road, Edwin told me a few of the things he had tried. When he finished I sat there, thinking hard about what he had said. How were we going to get home? I couldn't stay here forever. My parents will be devistated if I don't come home.
I began to cry. I couldn't help it. I was so worried.
"It will be okay," Samuel said, trying to comfort me. "You must have been brought here for a reason."
For the next several minutes we rode in silence. I watched the trees pass by, trees that aren't there in the future. Instead there will be roads, cars....my house.
I looked at Samuel. He was looking at me, concern reflected in his eyes. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. It didn't work. I needed time to think, alone.
"May we go back to your home?" I asked.
"Of course," he replied, then told the driver. we carriage turned, and we headed back for the manor.
I turned back toward the scenery. The sun was setting, coloring the sky with golds and pinks. as beautiful as it was, I was still frightened, and very worried. ~SAMUEL~

We rode in silence back to the manor. I looked at Edwin. Ithought about the day he first arrived at the manor. It had been a warm summer day. I had been walking through the garden enjoying the smell of the blooming roses when he had come running up to me. Rambling someting about falling off the edge of the clff.
After I got him to calm down, he told me everything. how he ran away from home, fell off the cliff, and woke up in my garden. I thought he had escaped from the asylum. I led him inside to the sitting room with every intention of calling the White Coats, but something made me stop. When I saw him looking around the room, touching the walls and fireplace in disbelief, I began to believe him. A few months after Edwin had arrived, and English author named H.G. Wells came out with a book called "The Time Machine." After reading the book I began to wonder if maybe there really was a way to travel through time. As the carriage came to a stop at the manor, I looked back at Susannah. A second person who has traveled through time, and found themselves in my garden. Maybe I could somehow get Mr. Wells to talk with us. See if there is any truth to what he wrote about in his stories.

...To be continued.
