A special thank you to ILLiana for allowing me to use one of her houses for the story.
I hope you enjoy it.
Several months had past and Storm had managed to find a small house, it was rough, dirty and basic but for now it was home.
Shortly after moving in she found the was expecting, she thought about telling Chase but everytime she picked up the phone she lost her nerve and hung up.
She decided that it would be best if he didn't know after all what could he do and what if he didn't want to know, she couldn't face that.
So she spent the days studying, cooking, cleaning and parenting.
She also found she loved to sing and would sing nursery rhymes to her bump often. Arron hadn't been in touch either, she had hoped that when he had cooled down he would realize what an idiot he had been and come to apologize....he didn't.
Storm had thought about getting in touch with him but had decided against it, maybe he needed more time.
Chase on the other hand was looking for her.
He had been told that she had left town after a fight with her brother and when he called round to find out were she was him and Arron had come to blows.
He had sent people out looking for her but as the weeks past he heard nothing untill late one evening he got a call,
It was from a friend who lived in another town, he was told that a new girl had moved in to the area and the discription matched Storm's.
Chase decided to check it out, he was only wanting to make sure she was ok, thats all, just as a friend. A week later he found himself standing outside a shack, he hoped that Storm didn't live here as it was worse than the last place.
He rang the bell and waited, he started to doubt it was a good idea, maybe it wasn't her.
He turned to leave when the door opened...
"Yes, who is it?"
Chase stopped, it was her voice. "Hello Storm....." he stared at her, she was pregnant.
His mind was racing, it never occured to him..that night at the beach, why didn't she tell him?
"Hello Chase, how are you?"
Her question snapped him out of his thoughts, "Errr, I think I should be asking you!"
Storm shifted uncomfortably on her feet, "You better come in" She led him to a beat up old sofa and asked him to sit down.
Chase had a million questions in his head, "Why didn't you tell me? does Arron know? how will you live?
Storm looked at him her eyes so full of emotion that they looked almost purple, "I havn't heard from Arron, i'll manage, we'll be fine"
"I'll marry you"
"No Chase, I can't allow you to do that...."
"But it's for the best, you can't live here on your own and I can support us very well"
"I can't let you do that", Storm replied.
Chase wanted to marry her, it was the right thing to do but part of him felt guilty, he was willing to brake a promise he made a long time ago.
Chase pushed her to marry him, "look, I want to help, I want to be there for it, I want to be a father, I want to see my baby grow up..."
"Babies"
"What?"
"Babies, theres two", Storm said quietly.
Chase put his hand on her stomack, "Twins"
"Yes" she nodded.
"Well thats it, you have to marry me".
"I need to think on it"
"No you don't, it's decided, I will get the paper work sorted and we will be married by the weekend"
That was one of the things she admired about him, he was always sure, confident, he knew exactly what to do, sure of any desicion he made, she was never confident and now she was even less so.
"What do you say?"
"Very well".
Storm sat on her bed, tired but unable to sleep.
It was funny she had always dreamed that she would be whisked away by a handsom man and have lots of kids and live happily ever after.
But that only happened in fairy tales, real life wasn't like that, it was pratical, cold.
Maybe it won't be so bad, she loved him, had done from the day she stormed into his house yelling only for him to kiss her and then promise to teach her to read, the time they spent together had been wonderfull and what she saw and learnt about him made her love him more, but he didn't love her, could she live with that? It was a beautifull headstone with a single white dove open it, the ingraving said...
Rest in peace, Lucy Young, a bloom of yellow flowers grew in front.
Chase stared at the grave, he didn't see it, he was with Lucy the day it happened.
They were celebrating their second wedding anniversary, he went to buy her roses, he was only a few feet away when it happened, the satalite, it tore through the atmosphere and hit the ground with such force, Chase new nothing after that, being caught up in the blast he woke a few days later to find himself in hospital and Lucy, his beloved Lucy gone.
"I'm sorry Lucy, so sorry"
He took one more look and headed for the gate. So it was that Storm became Mrs Chase Young, it was a small civil wedding just her, Chase and a couple of witnesses, not exactly how she dreamed of her wedding.
They pulled up at a large, beautifull villa, Storm was confused, as she walked up the path she turned and looked at Chase "I don't understand, arn't we going home"
"This is our home, with two babies on the way we needed something bigger, do you like it?"
"It's beautiful" Chase showed her round the large home.
"This is your room", Chase led her to a room and opend the door.
It was large and airy it was modern in keeping with the rest of the house but it had a sense of peace, calmness.
The wind blew gently from the open windows making the curtains shift silently, the smell of blossom blew in from the trees outside.
"Thank you, its wonderfull" Storm said it was a far cry from her gothic decor.
"My room is next door, so if you need me you only have to knock, I would prefer it if you didn't go into the room, I will see to the tidying up in their"
Storm nodded both saddened and relieved to find they had seperate rooms.
"I'll leave you to settle in while I see to dinner, you'll find new clothes in the drawers and I would appriciate if you would remove the stuff from your face and do something with your hair, in my line of work it wouldn't do to have a wife look that that"
Chase turned and left closing the door behind him.
Storm looked in the mirror and saw a stranger looking back.
She didn't recognize herself, gone was the heavy makeup the dyed hair and odd clothes.
She looked at herself nevously without her goth look she felt vunerable, it was her barrier and now it was gone.
She had to admit that the maternity clothes were more comfortable than what she had been wearing, she wondered if Chase had bought them if so he actually had quite good taste. She walked quietly into the dinning room.
The soup he had made smelled good.
Chase looked up, "Are you alright?, you look tired"
"I'm fine just been a busy day thats all"
"Have an early night, you need to get you're rest" Storm ate her dinner in silence, maybe it was tierdness but for some reason she couldn't talk to Chase she kept her head down and wished the meal was over and she could hide in her bedroom.
Chase watched discretly, without the rubbish on her face she looked breathtaking, but her eyes were dull, their was a sadness in them, why?, he had the urge to hold her, tell her it would be ok but he sat and ate his dinner.
The morning came quickly and Storm woke to the sound of birds singing, getting out of bed she looked out to a warm summer morning.
It was an odd lying in bed, married with your husband lying in another room, it had taken a while for her to sleep but in the end she had drifted off.
Chase had rose early and eaten before she had got up, it was a bad night, spending hours awake in the dark his new bride asleep next door, he was glad when morning broke.
About to walk into the living room he stopped, someone was singing, he crept to the door and watched...
Storm was standing in the middle of the room in her pj's singing to her bump.
A smile spread over his face and he got the sudden urge to kiss her, the thought shocked him and leaving a note in the kitchen quickly left for the office.
The weeks past and Storm slowly got bigger, she didn't see much of Chase he was either at the office or in the study and if he did see her he was cold.
She was having trouble copeing, the contsent back ache and she had his mood to deal with, was he regreting the marraige?, did he now want out? Storm lay in the sun chair one hot afternoon.
Chase was at home but in his study, she started to fall asleep when she became aware of someone standing near her, she opened her eyes to see Chase.
"I'm going to have a swim, would you like to join me?" Chase asked.
The thought of cool water on her skin was inviting, "I'd love to" She would have loved to stay in longer but she felt tierd, "I think i'll get out and go for a nap".
Chase got out of the pool and bent down to help her out, "I'll give you a call in an hour for lunch".
"Thank you", she wanted to turn away but he didn't let go of her hands.
"If the babies take after their mother their going to be beautifull",
"Thank you" Storm whispered, blushing Chase hadn't realized he had said it out loud till he heard Storm's reply, he saw her flushed face, and smiled to himself she was embaressed by a compliment from her husband, but then how often had he said somthing nice to her.
Storm turned to leave but Chase pulled her back, she looked up at him through heavy black lashes, what did he want...
Pulling her close, Chase wrapped his arm round her and kissed her, it was long and warm it made Storms heart beat wildly.
All of a sudden he stopped and gently pushed her away, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that"
She was confused, why did he do that and then apologize, she had kissed back.
"Look, go have a lie down, it's cooler in your room"
Storm looked at him for a moment and started to feel angery, silly, tears started to form, turning she practicly ran to her room.
Chase watched her go was angery with himself, it was bad enough that he had kissed her without pushing her away like that. One morning a few weeks later she found one of Chase's ties lying in the bathroom, it wouldn't hurt to go into his room and put it away.
She opened the door, putting the tie away she turned to look round, it was a nice room larger than hers with large windows, two tables sat at them, a ring sat on one of the tables, she picked it up, reading the inscription "Lucy". She stared at it,
It was a wedding ring....
Why hadn't he told her? he had been married before? were was Lucy?
Was he divorced? it was odd that he never told her but why should he it's not as if it was a proper marriage, she didn't really know that much about him he never talked about his past, he didn't talk much not to her anyway. The picture in the corner caught her attention moving closer she could see it was Chase, he was younger his bride was smileing and they both looked deeply in love, so this was Lucy.
Hearing a car pull up she realized Chase was home early and quickly left the room. Chase found her in the living room,
"We are having a guest for dinner tonight, nothing formal but you will need to dress accordinly"
"Yes Chase"
"You will also have to do the cooking as it's a client I must see to his needs, can you do that?"
"Yes"
Chase looked at her, see seemed quieter than usuall, somthing was wrong, "Are the twins ok?"
"Yes" she answerd as she headed to the bathroom.
Storm soaked in the bubbles, now was not the time to ask questions. She cooked a turkey, it was her first attempt at entertaining and she was terrified it would go wrong.
It had taken her ages to decied what to wear but finaly found somthing that was smart but comfortable, as she dressed she found a box on her dresser a card beside it "Storm, please wear this tonight, Chase" opening it she found the most breathtaking pendant and earings, putting them on she was surprised to find how close they matched her eyes.
The meal went well, it was the first time she met Mr Roth, he was a nice fellow, and kept her entertained with his jokes.
Eventualy the dinner was over and the two men went to talk buiseness while she cleaned up. Chase led Morty through to the den for a drink.
"Chase my boy were did you find such a enchanting creature? you managed to keep her quite didn't you, twins you say" winking, "You are certainly a fast worker"
Chase coughed, "Well you know how these things are....."
"I should say, married thirty years, and couldn't be happier"
Chase smiled, he had met Morty's wife once at a dinner party, big jolly woman they seamed well matched. The two men played pool and talked buiseness for most of the evening, Storm came through to have a drink and then made her excuses to tidy up the kitchen.
Chase noticed the strain on her face, maybe he shouldn't have had Morty round but it was important and they had to discuss work, the bridge he designed was for his town.
Later after Morty left Chase went to the kitchen to find Storm, he wanted to thank her for the excellant meal.
She was standing at the sink, trying to ease the pain in her back.
"Are you ok?
"Yes i'm fine, just back ache, all due to you know who"
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked Morty over tonight..."
"It's fine honestly Chase, i'll be ok"
"Look" Chase stepped forward, "Let me rub it for you, it might help?"
"I'm sure it will be ok...."
"I'm good at it, I used to treat the lads in my local football team"
"You played football?", she asked turning her back towards him.
"Yeah, we were a small team but we were pretty good....."
Storm wasn't listening anymore, the touch of his hands gave her goose bumps, she didn't even notice that he has stopped talking. Chase suddenly felt uncomfortable, "How's that, did it help?" he asked.
"Yes, thank you, you may get called in everytime I have back ache" she laughed nevously, not quite sure what to say.
Chase was looking at her in an odd way, she wanted to leave but her feet seemed rooted to the spot.
"I think i'll turn in now" she mumbled.
He was so busy tonight that he hadn't noticed how beautiful she looked, "I see you found my gift"
"Oh, yes, thank you, their lovely".
"They match your eyes", Chase whispeared in a voice that made her skin tingle. Chase took her by the sholders, "Your beautiful", he rasped.
"Chase, I, err, I... Storm looked deep into eyes and saw...what...what did she see, for a moment she thought she saw... it was tierdness her mind playing tricks.
Chase hesitaited....
As he put his lips to hers he closed his eyes and his mind, the warnings going off in his head, he ignored them, he had to kiss her.
Storm closed her eyes also but it was to remember this moment for ever, what ever happened she would have this kiss with him, her husband, the man she loved with all her heart. Chase pulled away first, the disapiontment on her face showed,
He took her hand and led her to his room.
They made out.
Storm wanted this with all her being, to be held by him was the safest place in the world.
As he bent down to kiss her she whispered "I love you"
Chase stood in the den, "HELL!" he muttered, this has gone and made things difficult, what posesed him.
Storm slept soundly in his bed, he had had a cold shower and needed a drink, needing to think,
he had heard her whisper but pretended he hadn't, damn! what was the matter with him he didn't love her so why did he keeep acting like that?
The next morning Storm caught Chase before he left for work,
Storm's mind was in turmoil, how could someone be so warm and loving one minute then cold as ice the next and what about his first wife?, "Chase I need to talk to you!"
"It'll have to wait till after work"
"I know about Lucy", it was out before she could stop it.
"No you don't" Chase replied, "You know nothing about her".
"TELL ME!... please".
Chase told her, everything, from the day he and Lucy met to day they parted.
"I loved her so much, it was like I stopped excisting when she went, it took me a long time to accept her death but I never stopped loveing her"
"But....."
"I'm sorry Storm, i'll always love Lucy" closeing the door behind him. Storm stood outside, the fountain was singing it's watery tune but she was too hurt to hear it.
This marraige was a sham, so couldn't do it anymore, waiting for the little affection he showed but knowing he didn't mean it.
She stood for a long time, the noises of life passing her unnoticed.
"I have to get out of here".
She turned to pack. Storm paced the hallway, as the minutes pased she was getting more and more nervous, Chase was due in an hour ago and still no sign and to make matters worse her backache was really bad,
Chase walked in to find her pacing the hall, "No more questions, I have work to do", he told her coldly as he headed for the study.
"CHASE..... i'm leaving"
"WHAT!, you can't"
"I'm sorry, I thought I could do this, live with you, love you knowing you don't love me but I can't,
I can't compete with her, my bags are in the car if it's alright i'd like to use it for a few days"
Chase nodded silently.
He followed her down the path, "Were will you go?, how will I get in touch with you? stay we can talk"
"I'm sorry Chase but it's for the best, i'm not strong enough to fight a ghost, i've left a number were you can reach me"
"What about the babies, stay at least till they arrive?"
"I CAN'T!, Storm cried fighting the tears back. He watched as she walked away, she was leaving him like Lucy had left... but she hadn't left she was taken from his life he couldn't help it, it was an accident.
This time he was pushing Storm away, tried to make her not love him but it hadn't worked, she couldn't survive on her own she needed him and he needed her.
"STORM WAIT, PLEASE!, LET'S TALK?"
"I'm tired, tired of living a lie, of you blowing hot and cold when the mood suits you" she answered, she didn't stop.
Chase ran after her...
"Please" Chase begged.
"The emotion in his voice made her stop, turn round, "Why?, whats to talk about? you said it all this morning, you couldn't have been more clear"
"I...."
"Theirs nothing for me here, what I want I can't have, goodbye Ch....."
"I love you"
Storm looked in surprise, did he really think she would fall for that.
"I have loved you from the day you opened the door to me at your brothers, I tried not to but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop, I was scared, scared of being hurt again, I thought that if I denied it it would be easier, it's not, Chase stroked her face, "Please don't leave me, I need you, I love you, with all my heart and soul.
Storm listened as the words fell from him, "What of Lucy?
"I loved her and in away I still do, but the way I love you is different, I can't stand being away from you even for a second, me and Lucy were young when we married, not long out of college who knows maybe it would'nt have lasted we were never given the chance to find out.
"Do you really mean it, you're not just saying it just to stop me from leaving?" Chase wrapped his arms round her and gently sweezed her, "Storm Young, I love you more than life it's self, will you be my wife...for real this time.
"Oh Chase, how I wished for you to say that, I would gladly be your wife"
He held her tight, "I wish now I had told you a long time ago, I must have put you through hell"
"We've got eternity for you to show me how much you love me"
Taking her by the hand they walked back to the house, "I'll show you now" he winked.
"I'm affraid thats not possible, were going to be busy with something else"
Chase looked at her confused, then it hit him, "Oh my.....! the babies...
"Would like to meet their dad". A week later Storm and the twins were home, the proud parents watched them sleep.
They had named the girl Lily and the boy Iain.
Things were going to be hectic from now.
Chase was right, the twins had taken after their mother and were perfect, he couldn't have been more proud. "Well their finally asleep" said Chase with a wicked look on his face.
"I feel like joining them, lets to go our room for a nap"
"Good idea", Chase laughed, "but not to sleep"
"And what do you have in mind Mr Young"
"Lets make out Mrs Young"
"Good idea", Storm whispered in his ear as she hugged him.
Chase held her tight knowing this time would be different, they had forever.
.............The end............

Oh my god, in picture 14 I got so angry at Chase! First he forces her to mary him and then he wants her to change her look!
And picture 37 is just amazing, she looks like she wants to cry and smile at the same time! And I just adore the ending!
I hope you make more stories!
